  1. Hi everyone! Just wanted to share that I've received my 10-yr green card a few weeks back. Filed my ROC with CSC, got an RFE and a week after filing our RFE we got a reply congratulating us for my ROC with no interview needed. It took a while but in all, had to wait about 8 months with the RFE. We live in Houston, TX.

My advice to anyone in the process of filing: Overwhelm them with a lot of evidence! Especially financial records that show both of you sharing or using the same account/s. Good luck to everyone!

  2. The Website changed from Card/ Document Production to decision....does anyone know what this means? I wonder if the card has been ordered as per the previous update that stated "card production"...

    Decision

On March 6, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed

Same thing happened to me. Your card is on its way, trust me :)

Make yourself a drink, sit back and relax ;)

  3. Apologies for the late update. We have been approved!!! Interview was on 02/11 @ the Houston DHS. The interview was short and sweet. Neither of us were grilled at all by the IO. All she needed were extra evidence that we wanted to submit and the original copy of our marriage certificate. That was it. We ended up talking about the cold weather that day and our vacations in Europe. My card is on it's way and I am supposed to receive it tomorrow (02/18), according to the USPS site.
Good luck to everyone! Hugs :)

  4. 3 days to Valentine's Day!!!

Oh and interview was today....and we got APPROVED!!!!!! :D

Interview was scheduled for 8.15am, got called in at about 8.20am.
The officer was nice. Polite and professional. She asked us if we had any questions for her before she began. Told her no, then she started. She didn't grill us too much but just swore us in, asked me questions from the I-485. Once those were answered she asked if there were any extra documents we wanted to submit to her, so I gave her our joint account details and credit card statements, phone bills and showed her my old check book with our address and bills that I paid. She smiled and we chit chatted about the weather and how it was cold, about traveling in Europe and how she was disappointed that she couldn't get her passport stamped with all the different European countries stamps. She was nice. Showed her our wedding photos and she said she loved my deep purple and white theme. :)
We were prepared to be separated for the interview, but were pretty happy that she didn't separate us. She said everything looked good, and had to run a last background check but since she got locked out of her computer, she couldn't do it right away. She then explained to us about the conditional residence card and how and when we can file for ROC in 2 years time.
So she said once the last check was taken care of she will send me a letter tomorrow and let me know. But she asked me not to worry since everything looked good. We were in her office for about 15 minutes. Got to DHS at about 8am and were out of there at 8.40am.

I was a little bit disappointed at first but just 10 minutes ago, I checked the USCIS site and it said Card/Document Production! :) I am super super relieved and happy!

My journey will now have a pitstop here for about 2 years and then ROC and then maybe naturalization. :)

I wish everyone here the best of luck and may everyones journeys be smooth sailing! :)

  5. Has anyone had their I-485 status change to Initial Review yet? Mine still says Acceptance from Dec 19.

Just wondering if there's a time frame I should be expecting? (If it's even going to change, I read that a lot don't.)

Hi Laura! Mine has changed to testing and interview. It changed on 12/31/13, 12 days after I had my walk-in biometrics taken.

As far as I can remember, it never went to initial review for mine.

  6. Hey there! Husband and I just filed our application here in Texas. I just had my biometrics taken yesterday. It was scheduled for 12/30 but I decided to take a chance and walk-in. Hopefully, it'll help make the application process faster.

Congratulations to both you and your wife! :) Hubby and I have been together for about 10 years now. I am collecting and organizing as much evidence as I can so our journey will hopefully be as smooth as yours was.

    Congratulations again!
