Okay, I feel stupid. I have tried every possible way to enter the info into DHL and it says there are no shipments. I talked to NVC today 01/27/2014 and they said my package was mailed today to Embassy in Manila, Philippines. Can someone help please?
-
Yes, every day I get a different answer when I call. It is very frustrating. I mostly get the response that we are in AP and there is no time frame, it can take as much time as they want.
Have they told you on phone why they have kept ya case file for so long as that's awful?
-
Our case has been stuck at the NVC since 12/30/2013. I feel your pain. Like you I thought that it would not be there long and made an interview appointment only to have to cancel it later.
Our k1 case has now been stuck at the NVC going on 3 weeks and we are starting to think this is not normal and something is wrong. If I call the NVC on Monday can I ask to speak to a supervisor? Is 3 weeks Normal wait time for AP?

Thanks, yes we are K-1 and I also don't see why there is such a delay. I will email the us embassy and see if we can get anywhere
You're K-1 Right? There really isn't anything to be done at the NVC. It generally just passes through. Personally I would contact the Consulate. It's free to try.
Maybe someone else will chime in with an idea why you would be hung up in AP. Have you asked about this issue in the PI portal? It could be something specific to your Consulate.
-
I have not called the embassy. I have called the NVC every day and still am told the case is under AP and there is no timeframe for it to be sent to the embassy. I was lucky to get an early appointment date for the interview but I will have to cancel.
If you have a number, the file has been processed and has been or will be shipped. Have you contacted the Consulate?
If you have the file number forget about the NVC. Send an email to the Consulate with your case number in the subject line. In the body inquire about status of your file.

I already have the MNL case number. Got it on 12/31/2013. The file just has never been shipped to Manila
It's not stuck. Average right now is 28 days. That means some stay longer some shorter. You're doing the right thing keep calling till you get a number, but don;t get too excited this is normal.

So our package is stuck at the NVC stage. It has been in AP since 12/31/2013 and I have called and emailed repeatedly and have gotten the same response. We cannot give you any time frame. Has anyone else had this issue and is there a way to help the situation?

I called them on 01/09/2014 and talked to a representative and just tried to call them now and was able to get through
Hi
Is anyone else having problems calling NVC on (603) 334 0700 ?
I have tried for a few days now, initially I got the "closed due to weather", which is fine, however when I have tried to call for the last few days I just get an engaged tone.
Are the lines down due to the weather conditions? If so, then I totally understand, if not and other people can get through, then I know it's just me doing something wrong.
Cheers
Ron

We are also trying to schedule an interview but there are no spots available. From what others have said, spots open randomly and you have to just keep checking. I have been looking for 2 days and have not seen one yet.
-
I have been checking every hour for 2 days now and have not seen even one appointment come up yet, so this might take a while.
-
I will, Thanks.
Keep checking the website. An open appointment date could pop up. Grab it!
-
I hope you got to pay your fees. My fiancée paid ours and got the deposit slips. Now we wait again. There are no available appointment slots for interviews.
oh thank you sooo much :-D gotta print now and go to the bank :-D maraming salamat for informing me:-D

The website is back up and working now
Uh-oh, at least just 240 pesos higher each. We are 2 ( k1 and k2). Coz i was thinking late last month that it would go back to $350 each If i did not pay in december.anyways thanks and good luck to us :-D
-
I just hope im not the only one who has called the USEM to inform them. Maybe if they get enough calls they will get on the ball.

I also have K-1 and K-2. Hope it will be fixed soon but with our government you never know

I called them but got nowhere except found out the exchange rate for January is p45 so the cost is 10800 instead of 10560
-
There seems to be a glitch in the website and the current exchange rate is not there so cant get a deposit slip to pay. Whats one more day?
-
Congrats, I only hope we can all be so lucky

Eventually NVC will send you a letter... eventually. (Don't recommend for anyone to wait for the letter to arrive )
To get an email from NVC with the MNL # follow the info in my link. I found they were pretty good about replying to my email.
Other then that you have to keep calling.
Thank you again.

First, I want to thank you for all the useful information that you post. You can tell that you have done a lot of research. I have a question. I have seen a lot of information about the steps of the K-1 application and your guide is great. One thing I either haven't read or have overlooked is. Do you receive some sort of email or text from the NVC that your application has been received or do you just keep calling until you find out? Thank you
-
yeah, on the email, they ask for the NOA2 copy, and full name and birth dates of both petitioner and beneficiary. I got my case number on the 6th week. I hope you hear good news soon
I also got the same email asking for my noa2 on fri the 13th, I haven't heard anything as of yet but with the holidays im still hoping before the end of the year.

Yes my fiancée is from Tacloban City. I was there with them just days before Yolanda. I was so lucky to have left when I did but so many were not.
-
Oh yes, we have been so lucky to be this far into the process as fast as we are. I am so thankful.
-
OMG. The whole process is such a hurry up and wait ordeal. With all the expedited petitions due to people being displaced by Yolanda the process times are getting done in record time. Thank you to our government for that. Now at the NVC stage and its waiting again. I was told to wait 8 weeks for the petition to be mailed from CVC to the NVC. What are they doing, walking it there on foot?
Then the interviews are being placed for end of April, start of May due to the overflow of approved apps. I think Manila needs a few more interviewers. I know I haven't been waiting very long and others have been waiting for months even years for this and I feel for you. I guess I am just impatient. Ok, vent below.......
