  1. Fiance passed the medical, and has appt. for interview March 23.

I may be wrong, but I thought I read some where on this site, that you can do your CFO, get the paperwork put in your passport, THEN go to the interview, pass the interview, and buy an airline ticket to the USA?!?!

Just not sure, doing this for my friend, as me and my wife went through this two years ago, just do not remember, as we did the interview, got the visa, then went to CFO in CEBU, Phils. Please advise, he almost is finished with this K-1, and because of expedite interviews, are hard to get.,.,.,.

    Any help deeply appreciated!

it is optional. if you want to go to CFO for GCC(Guidance Counseling Certificate) before your interview its fine however they won't release your sticker since your not pass or having the visa yet. Once you passed the interview and received your packet you may go back to get the sticker from the CFO. or do it in one time. after your interview go to CFO attend the counselling and get the sticker. BTW, before you go to CFO you need to have your pre registration. DONT FORGET

  2. Were you completely honest and accurate with the info you put in the DS160? If yes, then there's nothing to worry. Getting a B1/B2 visa in the Philippines is really hard and majority gets denied because of lack of strong ties.

A B1/B2 visa denial does not have a negative impact on a K1 (or other immigrant) visa application. Unless you misrepresented yourself on the DS160 form (ex: lying).

Do you have any copy of your answers? I wanted to have mine. Because I'm going to apply for k1 visa dear.

  3. Hi..I'm from Phil and my fiancée is from Washington. I met him 9months ago and he came to visit last Nov. And were planning to file a K1. I read my forum here and they said at least you have 2years communicationand the truth is we dodon't have. Do you think guys if I will apply and my partner will submit docs,we are approved or not because we don't have 2years and we met once?.

Thank you and more power to equal right.

  4. the main thing for USCIS is to be honest with them, so that is why we stated in our letters of affidavit that we had B2 visa denials twice.

the CO will see that we were honest and hope this works.

the embassy will know my denials anyways cause they can check my denials in their system

The reason why I want to checked mine is I wanna make sure that why I got denied. Maybe they have the option to know.

Or did you call them or did you sign a form?

    Thank you

  5. Department of State Transitions to DS-160 for K Visa Applications

Effective immediately, all K visa applicants are required to complete the DS-160 Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. The DS-160 replaces forms DS-156, DS-156K, and DS-230.

For K visa cases already in process at a U.S. embassy or consulate, the DS-160 is not required when, prior to October 7, 2013, one of the following situations exist:

The K visa applicant is already scheduled for an interview.

The K visa applicant has already been interviewed and has been requested to submit additional documentation or is pending administrative processing.

The K visa applicant has already submitted a valid, signed, unexpired DS-156, DS-156K and/or DS-230 or received instructions to do so.

  6. I did correct you. The DS-160 is used for ALL K-1 applicants. The DS-156 is no longer used. Please read the info from the link I posted above.

Also, this link, under Required Documentation > http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html

And, for those going through Manila, there are actually instructions directly from the consulate > http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/325288/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_10%20October%202013_.pdf

  8. Yes, you do sign the DS-160. You sign electronically by clicking to 'Sign and Submit' the form. Then it will give you your confirmation. The DS-156 is not a new K-1 form. It is the old one that is no longer in use and has been replaced by the DS-160.

  9. Thank you milimelo.

I met him already but because of my friend telling me that I will try to apply for first for b1. But sad to say I got denied. I was interviewd last august 2013. The lawyer said if I got all the questionnaire that I filled up she can check why I got denied. When the consul said to me oh she's your friend. And I corrected her he's my special friend I said(I'm a boy,I hope your not shock about it because right now they allow same sex marriage) do you think I got denied because of this? How will I know the reason why I got denied?

    Thank you guys!!!

  10. Once submitted, you can't get the DS-160 back. You should've done screenshot or print out of the application before hitting submit.

Was B1 done before you met the boyfriend or during this relationship?

I've seen cases denied as people claimed they wanted to visit family/relatives/friends but failing to disclose boyfriend/fiance(e) and then attempting to connect tourist visa application with fiance(e) relationship for length of time. And yes, new DS-160 has a spot for fiance(e) in US just like mother, father, siblings, other relatives.

  11. Hello everyone :). Question on ds160. Question #36. Intended length of stay in us. What should we put there for fiance visa? Its asking for days, weeks , years. Should we put 90 days? Thanks gir your help.

Hi dear. I read the new form. We are not required to sign the ds-160. You are talking about the new k1 form which is the ds-156.
