  1. Check back your letter.....it clearly says there that "A complete medical examination (Form 1-693) and a vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (UNLESS ALREADY SUBMITTED)

Since you already submitted that together with your other documents no need for you to get one.

    Regards,

Well we just received our interview date for AOS in the mail.

May 17th at 8 am in Atlanta.

My sons interview is for 8:30.

I thought I would be waiting for at least a year or more to get an interview.

Now back to worrying again to get our stuff together.

Roger just asked me if they were going to interrogate us there

We received our NOA on Dec 8th/05.

So just alittle over 5 months to get the interview.

  3. Congrats!

Wow Autumnal, this tips looks helpful.....thanks! I'll be having my AOS interview this May 17, 2006 in Atlanta too.

    Rab :)

    May 17, 2006 - AOS Interview

Congratulations on getting the interview and here's good karma for you, I hope! :)

If you want to know what sorts of questions might be asked, there are a few ways to check:

    1) Look through other people's experiences for interviews in this forum. In many cases they describe questions they've received.

    2) See the handy example questions posted here on VJ. ;)

    3) Ask other people with approved AOSes at your district office. Click on the name of your district office (IE: San Diego) to see others from there.

Usually, there are a few questions that tend to be very common if not universal.

    1) How did you and your spouse meet?

    2) When did you and your spouse meet?

    3) When/where were you married?

    4) Your date of birth, spouse's date of birth.

    5) The "yes/no" questions from the AOS form. (IE: are you a terrorist?)

    6) Often: where does the USC work/what do they do for a living.

    7) Often: ask for an updated/new I-864 (esp. if AOS was submitted >1 year ago) or 2005 tax returns.

    8) Often: Has spouse met your family/vice versa.

    9) Often: To see wedding pictures, identify people in them.

These are pretty common ones. There are sometimes less common questions about your life, job, house, etc. to confirm you're in a relationship together. If a spouse is divorced, perhaps questions about the ex (IE: can you name them; did spouse and ex have kids, etc). :)

  4. Yeah, you are right. Waiting for your immigration stuff is so upsetting. On my case.....my husband have to take day off at work just to go to Atlanta for the infopass appoinment for my EAD last March 13, 2006. When we got there it found out that my case was already approved Jan. 31 , 2006. Huh? what the heck?

Anyway, good luck to you. Hopefully you'll get your EAD soon.

    Regards,

    Rab

    Thanks...

It just so upsetting, and I dont know if there are other people in the same situation. But it's so stressing for me to think that I might have to stop working because I didnt make the correct steps to expedite my paperwork.

I will make an infopass and try to obtain more information.

    Thanks again.

  5. When you log back to infopass menu, you'll be asked to enter your zip code, name, case number and etc. When the computer analyzed that you already entered such details, it will automatically prompt to the infopass confirmation page. So dont worry about rescheduling, your appointment date is already save if you completed filling out the details before your PC knocked out.

If, however, you weren't able to complete the application you can always start from the beginning and set your desired appointment date and time.

    Good luck.

  6. I had set an infopass appointment for interim EAD on March 13, 2006, 7:30 am at Atlanta, Georgia distric office. My EAD application will be 93 days then, as of now, I have not recieved the biometrics letter yet.

If the biometrics letter wouldn't show up before the appointment date, I would definitely proceed with the infopass appoinment.

Now, on the infopass appointment what would likely to expect on that meeting? Would they allow me to have the biometics fingerprintingg on that office and issued the card on spot then?

Please share your experience to those who had gone through this process. Thanks a lot!

  7. Hi all!

I was thinking this while reading about this topic. Is there such an easy and hard questions during the interview? Although, I haven't got one but I think questions only focused about your relationships and life of a married couple living together. So, is that hard? I guess not!

I think interview would be harder and kinda freaky when one spouse hardly speak English. Even if the questions are too simple and straight but one can't converse English that much so that would be hard time for her/him.

Well, I dont believe applicants from the "weak countries" like Philippines, which I came from, will be getting a hard time during interview. I guess, you dont worry about hard questions because they only asked about your married life stuff and all that. It's pretty painless!

On my case, I leave my family, my fairly decent paying job, quit my master degree program just to marry for LOVE.

  8. Dear Shari,

I'm in Birmingham, AL (Hoover area) too. It's been 63 days now since my NOA1 but I dont the biometrics appointment still. While waiting for the letter, I started posting my resume to job sites and to my amazed there are quite a few people called our house or emailed me about a job offer and personal interview. Wow! I talked to them but when I said that I'm still waiting for my work authorization they would asked when we'll I get it. Oh boy! The opportunity is coming to you but here I am still not available to work.

Shari, try buying the Sunday edition of The Birmimgham News. There are lots of full time/part-time job posting on it. He can also send resume to local recruiting agency in the town like Savela Solutions.

    Good luck!

  9. Hello everyone!

I'm not sure if someone had already posted about the USCIS personal account case updates but I'll go ahead and post this.

I made a personal account from the USCIS websites few weeks ago for my 3 applications (AOS,EAD,AP). My case was updated twice now, Dec. 18, 2005 and Jan. 31, 2006.

As of yet, I'm still waiting for my bio/fingerprint appointment. With this new case update, would this mean SOMETHING GOOD on my applications?

Your replies would be much appreciated!
