  1. That's funny, we never received email OR text saying EAD/AP was approved, in production, or shipped! And at that point I didn't even bother checking USCIS every day so it was a big surprise for us when we checked the mailbox and it was there haha! So weird..

I know! You were saying! That's so weird!!! Lol! Any luck with Rich finding a job?? Ben has an interview on Monday!! FINGERS CROSSED!!!

  2. Thanks so much everybody.

    We got approved!!

After waiting for more than 2 hours in a freezing waiting room the IO called our number.

He was the nicest man, professional and friendly.

Our interview last less than 10 minutes. He makes us swear.. Then asked for documentation my husband gave him his DL and I gave him my EAD.

He asked if we still live in the same address... If the signature from 1 document was from my husband... Asked if I had a job I said no, I just got my SSC a week ago and I still need to learn to drive.. And my husband said that's the next step and they both laughed. Then asked about my husband's job and talked for a little bit about it and random experiences. Asked me what date we got married. And if I went to honey moon I said not my husband said we are still saving money for the real thing, ceremony and honey moon and then the IO started talking about his honey moon with his wife lol.

He asked for the most recent bank statement my I-94 and if I had pictures, he looked at all the pictures ( I had aroun 90 ) and asked where a couple of pictures where and said ok I will approve you 2 right now.. Briefly mentioned about ROC and in 3 years I can apply for citizenship, said God bless you and joked about my folder being organized and after that I dropped the folder and we have to pick up the documents Hahahah

We were just getting out the elevator when my husband got 2 text messages from uscis saying the card is in production :) so happy!!

There was a point I was so nervous while waiting and it was sooooo easy, he didn't look at any other of my documents or asked about anything else not even the real ones of anything. I had a good folder with post-its and what not he saw I was ready

    Congrats!! :)

  3. called the USCIS yesterday for an inquiry for the EAD, since we are well out of the 90 day processing time. They sent me a letter today explaining that I am still in the 90 day processing time because they start counting the 90 days from the start of them receiving the RFE response, which is dated Nov 19th for us. It's really lame that an RFE starts the whole wait over again.

I did this on the 6th. We also received the email saying we were within the processing times (Nov 7th is our RFE Response date)...I thought it was just a waste of time but we just received the email/text alerts saying our case was updated. I'm not positive but I believe calling helped someone pick up my case and start working on it again! Keep your head up! I know how frustrating it can be but there is light at the end of the tunnel!

  4. We are still waiting for everything but while on the subject of a driver's license I had a question. My husband has his social security number and card already but it is the one that has he is not allowed to work stamped on it. After he receives his EAD (if ever, grrrrrr) will he have to wait to go apply for his DL until after he receives his new social security card or will the one he has work? This is for Michigan.

  5. We are in the same boat. It's so hard to leave my husband at home when I go to work because I just want him to have that normalcy too. Such a helpless feeling. I am positivethings will get better soon! :)

It is very hard! Keeping our fingers crossed for the both of us. I actually called USCIS today and tried to find out what I could. They put a note down on my case because it was outside normal processing times for the EAD/AP and the guy said we should hear something within 15 days! I really hope so!

  6. Congrats to everyone on getting interviews and their EAD/AP cards! My husband and I haven't heard anything at all, no EAD/AP or AOS updates! They haven't answered the inquiry (which said I would hear something by the 1st) and our case for AOS says it will be updated or accepted by tomorrow (Jan. 6th)...hoping to hear something today but I doubt it. Our K1 process was so quick with no problems at all and this one has just been terrible. I feel helpless. My husband wants to feel like he has a normal life and start working and be able to drive!! I feel so bad for him!

  7. So I did a "Case Inquiry" on the website about the Travel Document (You can't do it for the EAD for some reason and it's been 112 days since our NOA1 and 53 days since our "RFE Response Review" and nothing heard about our EAD/AP) When I submitted the inquiry it said that I would hear something by Jan. 1st but when I check the website it says this...

"As of December 10, 2014, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number xxxxxxxxxxxxxMSC, is currently not assigned for processing."

    Anyone else see this before?

Also my case for AOS says "You should receive a decision or case update by January 6, 2015, unless fingerprinting or an interview are needed." I am really hoping this is the case, but I would love to hear something about his EAD/AP!!!

  8. @ Nikki181: I got an RFE on my I485 which delayed my applications too. I called uscis and made a service request for the EAD on Dec 9th, 91 days after my NOA1 date. I got a letter in the mail delivered Dec 15th saying my case was within their current processing time and my EAD would be processed within 90 days of the RFE receipt. So technically, the clock was reset AFTER they received my RFE response.

Guess what? On the same day Dec 15th, the status of my EAD and APchanged to card production/approved. This was 55 days after they received my RFE response. I believe my service request made someone take a look at my documents again (even if they had already sent a letter saying it will happen when it happens).

Thanks for the info! What number did you call? I am wondering if the Inquiry section on the website is pretty much the same thing as a service request? That is pretty much what I am hoping for when I submitted it, that someone would just pick up my file and look at it, because right now I feel like it is just sitting in a corner somewhere covered in dust! I'm wondering if I should call now? Lol! Anything to speed this process up! My husband is going crazy not being able to work!
