  1. Hi i am married to a US Marine and we had our wedding here in the Philippines 3 months ago. We also had some worries about the wedding being postponed because of reasons like 1. His possible deployment, 2. Not getting his leave approved, 3. Clearance and background checks, Etc.. But we made it, he did everything he could and his bosses helped him too. Im not sure what advice u need but id be glad to help u with anything. Just ask me if u have questions. I hope ur fiance gets his leave approved if not now, then hopefully early next year. God bless u both! smile.png

Ohh Congrats! :D . Tell me about it, there are just so many approval to go through.. Clearance background?

i hope so too.. since our december plans got spoiled, we're thinking of our plan B which is him to petition me from Japan. Do you know anyone with the same case? Ive read some info in the USCIS page and it says he can mail the petition since he's a military stationed overseas.

  2. Hi i am married to a US NAVY, he's been in japan with order of 2 1/2 years, he cannot petition while he was in japan as what they told him. When he went back to US then he got his leave and we got married here in the Philippines, that time we started the CR1 visa application.

How long had been ur fiance in japan? And how many years order.

he still have to stay in Japan until January 2015, he's been there since 2012 January .. How come he can't petition while he is in Japan? I believe he can send a petition to USCIS in Lewisville since he is overseas?

  3. Really? How come my fiance didn't report our relatinship to them and didn't ask permission to marry me?..lol. unsure.gif His boss and workmates knows about our relationship though because he's proud talking to them about me. But ofcourse he did report our engagement to his family and asked their blessings to marry me.

    -Love

this is one of the questions i have in mind. does my fiance need to seek his CO's approval before he can file a Fiance Visa (K1). Or not based on what you said. Its really confusing.

  4. Hai all..

this is my first time I post on this forum. now i'm really clueless about how to get started to get a K-1 visa..

I'm a university student in South Korea, I'm from Indonesia and I'm 20 years old.. my boyfriend is U.S army soldier stationed in South Korea. We both met in here since may 2012, and started dating since june 2012, then we decide to get married on august.

we already prepared for marriage license in the U.S army on his base, (i got my translated birth certificate, criminal record, affidavit eligible for marriage, family card, letter from parents, even I did the medical examination because i think they'll need it) but till now we still dont get anything. now we are really worry because he just got next order to go back to the states and will be stationed in ft.irwin CA on december 2012. He talked to his commander and he said we can finished the marriage license but I can't come with him to the states because army can't take care for the visa and we just know about it (i know we are so stupid sad.gif ) then, his commander said the fastest way is the K-1 visa to bring me back with him to the states.

and now, we just have 2 months left and the K-1 visa is need about 6-7 months. but then I decide to go back to Indonesia (after my student visa in korea expired) on february 2013..

so now.. what should I do first? :help:

1.There's any age limit to get a K-1 visa? (we both 20)

2.Can we started the package list from here? (Korea) and can I do the next step, and interview in Indonesia?

3.Who will file the I-129F package? me or my boyfriend? and we have to filed it to USCIS Dallas Lockbox, in Texas right? or Nebraska Service Center? I heard it would be faster because he's the current member of the military? (since we both outside the US I'm not sure about it)

4.what's the next step and where they can inform it? (me or my boyfriend)

I really clueless about it.. anybody can explain this for me? thank u so much and have a nice day everyone! biggrin.gif

Hi there, hope you will see this message. Im kinda in the same situation like you do and i wanna hear what happened to your request. :)

  5. Hi I desperately want to gather all information i need to get everything done properly. My Fiance is stationed in Japan (US Navy) whose gonna be back anytime soon. Im currently in the Philippines. We planned on getting married in the Philippines this December but unfortunately his leave wasn't approved one of the reasons is the super typhoon that recently struck the Visayas region. And he's not sure when he can get his vacation leave in the Philippines. Im still keeping a positive thought of us being together, God has better plans for us. He'll be asking some people at the legal base when he get back but i wanna do my part too.

Just wanna hear success stories having the same situation and advises will really help me keep my head up.

    *Praying everything will be alright*
