  1. Yeah, I researched the topic as well and read the same @ show the marriage certificate to the counselor officer at POE. I will write a brief note and give it to my husband. Other option is to file the I-90 to have the USCIS correct the mistake. That's our backup I guess. I spoke to some retard at NVC earlier who told me that the visa is issued for the category it's applied for but USCIS might tell me differently. I asked him what he meant and he just said that it can't be changed. Sighs.

Sam&Waq - We are in the same boat as you and got CR1 when we have been married for more than 2 years. We have been advised to point it out to the imm officer at the POE as they can change it to non-conditional residence.

  2. Hi guys,

I have a really dumb question so please excuse my ignorance. My husband was issued the visa, and he picked up the packet from AMEX last week. The welcome letter they give him with the visa packet says that he needs to bring the packet, original documents and his x-rays when we comes to the US. The embassy did not return the x-rays submitted with the medical. However, he has the x-ray CDs that were given to him with by the medical center when we got his medical done. Is that what he needs to bring with him at the POE?

Praying for all of you - I know it's a long and painful process as we were in AP for almost 2 years.

    Thank you for your help.

  3. nmk11,

Sometimes it takes 3 weeks for the embassy to get your mail and enter it into their computer system. When your documents are in the computer system the date will change on the ceac website. You can also call the Dept of State to see if your documents were received. The embassy will not call or email to tell you they received your documents it's up to you to find out.

    Maanf2a,

This might mean your medical and other documents are expired. Email the embassy or call the Dept of State to find out what you need to do.

Thank you! smile.png Praying for you and everyone on this forum!

  4. Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum. My husband has been in AP since July 2012. We were asked to submit the updated medical and 230 forms since his docs were expiring. It's been over 2 weeks since we submitted the new docs, and we still haven't seen an update on the ceac website so, I have a couple of questions for you all -

    1. How long does it take for the Embassy to receive your updated medical and DS 230?

    2. In addition, does the embassy email you to let you know that they have received the docs? Or, do we have to email them and confirm if they have received the package?

I hope and pray that we are all out of the AP soon, IA.
