My wife also got her card with and error on it. On the very bottom line of the green card they added an extra letter after her middle initial. I do believe that all they print is the middle initial on the card. Anyway, Im not really sure what is good evidence to send with the I-90... Does anybody know? All I did was send copies of previous USCIS documents and notices that had her correct name. Also, on the I-90's it mentions "when you appear in person".. I hope this dont mean we have to travel to the field office for some reason! Its their error. Hope somebody has some experience with this...

My fiance's greencard arrived with an error on it, with an extra "L" printed after her middle initial! We have to send a I-90 form to the service center that sent us the card. But after 3 calls to the USCIS help line, Iv gotten mixed messages on where to send it and what to do! I cant beleive how inconsistent the USCIS is! First of all they transfered us to the Cal service center and theit address was on the welcome notice NOA, but all the reciept numbers have "MSC" which is the National Benefits Center in MO. So now Im not sure where exactly to send the I-90... Can anybody help?

Im happy to say that my wife finally got her green card. We were so lucky that we never ran into any problems through this whole process, but its ironic that we hit our first when we got the green card.. On the very bottom of the card they mispelled her middle name. They said we have to return it along with a I-90 form. In part 2, what is the difference between (Permanant Resident- not a commuter) ( Permanant Resident- Commuter) and (conditional permanant resident)? We're suppose to send it to CA. Service Center, but Iv seen about 3 PO box Numbers for that center.. Dont know which one it goes to.. If anybody has any info. thanks

How come we are waiting so long but when I look online at the current ones being processed, they are receipted March 15? It makes me feel we were skipped or something..

Its been 4 months since the biometrics and the transfer notice we got sending the petition to Laguna Niguel California from Milwaukee. We're still not sure why it was sent here and how much longer we must wait. Not even sure what to expect next. Has anoybody else had this experience?
-
Just a few days ago we went to the biometric appointment at the nearest service center, which is Milwaukee in our case. But today we got in the mail a NOA that was called a "transfer notice" and it said due to speed up our process her case was being transfered to the Laguna Niguel California service center! Why did they transfer us so far away? Do they expect us to go there if we need an interview as well? Or maybe this means we wont need a interview since they moved it to such a far away service center? Any ideas?

The instructions say we just have to send copies of evidence with the AOS application. As far as the marriage certificate, I just sent a photocopy of the one we got from the courthouse the day we got married.
-
Was wondering what box do we check in the G-235a for the AOS application? Naturalization Status as permanent residence?
-
How long does it take until date of applying to completion when changing status from a k-1 visa to green card?
-
How long does it take to get aproval to leave and re-enter the us using the I-131 after applying for adjustment of status of a k-1 visa?
-
We need a little help.. Was wondering when we fill out all the forms for her Adjustment of status, will she use her name as previously filed for the I-129f petition (same as her passport) or should we use her new married name?
-
So where do the AOS interviews take place?
-
I just wasn't sure if everything has to match the I129F or not.. Its a little confusing
-
is this one suppose to be notarized like the one we sent in with the first petition? It seems much longer but it dont callfor as much evidence nor do I see taht it must be notarized.
-
Have another question.. When we fill out the I-485, are we suppose to put her new married name in the form, and our new address here in the US, or are we still suppose to use the same information as we gave on the initial petition for the visa?
-
Could anyone tell me where we are suppose to send the I-485 adjustment od status after a k-1 visa? We're in Michigan and we went through the Nebraska office for the fince visa process. Looking at the I-485.. I cant really tell where they wanted us to send it...

I was just confused about something. I always heard we have 3 month to get married with after entry with a k1 visa. But on her visa it says "petition expires December 17" , which is far shorter than 3 months since we arrived here October 25. Does anybody here know what this is? Thanks
-
Was just wondering if anybody here had the experience of getting married at a couthouse. How does that process usually go? We are thinking of doing this initially and then planning a religious ceremony a little later on.
-
Yeah we have a connecting flight. We should arrive there at 4pm and the next plane leaves at 7pm. It seems alright but I know how lines eat up time!

Other than the visa and consular papers, does my fiance need to bring with her any other documents upon entrance to the US? Like birth certificate etc? And does anyone know how long it takes to get through immigration in Chicago?
-
Thanks everyone for your support. And I have good news already, she got the visa I'll try to write more detail a little later about it. I know how it is to want to know how everything goes and have the most updated information.

I always hear of blue slips and pink slips. I know pink is passing, but what exactly is a blue slip and what does it mean? In general why do they give blue slips and what happens next?

Where did you find this information? Last time the embassy wrote me and email and said $65 so I guess that was all summed up. Thanks
7) HOW TO PAY THE FEE?PLEASE PREPARE TWO MONEY ORDERS PAYABLE TO "THE EMBASSY OF VIETNAM " AS FOLLOWS:
-SINGLE ENTRY, ONE-MONTH, REGULAR SERVICE:
- ONE MONEY ORDER OF $25.00 (MEMO LINE: VISA FEE).
- ONE MONEY ORDER OF $40.00 (MEMO LINE: REGULAR PROCESSING FEE).
-SINGLE ENTRY, ONE-MONTH, RUSH SERVICE:
- ONE MONEY ORDER OF $25.00 (MEMO LINE: VISA FEE).
- ONE MONEY ORDER OF $60.00 (MEMO LINE: RUSH PROCESSING FEE).
NOTE: ONE GROUP APPLYING TOGETHER CAN TURN IN TWO MONEY ORDERS (ONE FOR THE VISA FEE AND THE OTHER FOR THE PROCESSING FEE) FOR THE ENTIRE GROUP.
That was my Visa fee for trip in last June. Hope that help!

Hi, I was wondering if the visa fee is still $65 to get a single entry into Vietnam? I wrote to the embassy a while ago but I just cant wait any longer for a response! So I thought it would be a much better idea to ask here and hear from some of the recent travelers. Thanks
