  1. We went for our interview today and we got approved on the spot :) !!!!! I'm so happy.

We got to boston around 45 mins before our appointment and went to grab breakfast before. When we got to the building we went through the metal detectors and went through to the waiting room. While we were in there the director of the office came down and made a short speech about how they are there to help as be professional and that's what we should expect from the interviewers. He also told us how he and his wife had been through this process so he understood what we were feeling. It actually made us feel less nervous. Until they call my wife's name and not mine. The woman told us that she was taking my wife to talk first and then she would call me in. After the what felt like the longest 15 minutes of my life, she called me and to the room. He told me that she had spoke with my wife , And had now instructed she was not allowed to communicate with me for the duration of the interview. Then started asking questions about when we met, what our address was, who lived with us, if we have any pets. The she just got really relaxing start having a conversation with her and then started to throw in a few questions here and the and was trying to catch us out. She asked me who people were in our wedding photos and if I had met her family. Then she went through the check list on the application I.e have I ever been military trained or a spy :).

Then she said we were approved :) took my EAD cards off me ( I've had 3 from college) and to look out for the card in the mail in 5-10 days.

By the time we were out the building I got a text from uscis saying my card had been ordered.

After being so so nervous about this day and November seems like an eternity ago the blue dot has finally reached the end of its journey and I've reached the end of mine (for two years at least),

Thank you to everyone that has provided advice and listened to when things weren't going too good.

Good luck to everyone else who is waiting and congrats to everyone who has completed their journey.

  2. Does anyone have a good idea about how long after the Biometrics appointment it should be before your employment authorization card should arrive?? My husband had his bio appt on Feb 11 and they said we should get it in a couple of weeks. Well it's been almost a month and we are waiting anxiously. We are afraid it is lost in the mail due to we have had recent problems with our mail getting lost or sent back due to the good old USPS. Does anyone know how we can find out? Any help would be greatly apprciated!!!

Times can vary but they generally tell you to wait 90 days. If after 75 days you haven't heard anything they can put in a service request. I got mine last week and my bio appointment was on 23rd December.

If it's not been 90 days yet then all you can do is wait

    Good luck

  3. They just asked us how we met, and how our relationship progressed after that. Then, it was all the yes/no questions on the i-485 form, and they asked if we had additional documents to give them. I brought copies of our latest tax return showing that we filed as married filing jointly, our phone bills, credit card authorization, health insurance bills, and receipts from a trip we had and a recent furniture purchase. I punched them at the top to make it easier for the IO. I didn't ask if we were approved, she simply said that my conditional green card will arrive in a couple of weeks. Thirty minutes after the appointment, I received the text and email saying my card was ordered for production. :) I hope this helps! Good luck on your interview!

    Thanks it does a lot.

I have all of our financial proof like joint insurance, taxes, bank account etc . Then I have pictures of us since we have been together at various family events and trips. Some Xmas cards that have been sent to us as a couple.

I hope the questions are just as easy.

I read about a couple that had their interview separate from each other.

But we have nothing to hide so I guess I shouldn't be nervous lol

    Congrats once more :)

  5. Hi VJers

So after my info pass appointment on Friday, regarding my EAD (its100 days since I filed tomorrow ) I was told the following.

    1. They are experiencing so many EAD apps that it's taking upto 6 months to process them now.

    2. They cannot do anything for me at the field office as far as processing my EAD there.

    3. I will probably get my permanent residency before my EAD as my interview is in 2 weeks.

As far as the experience goes, the information obviously was not what I wanted to hear but 2 weeks till the interview I just have to thi positive. The guy was quite sympathetic too and we chatted for about 15 minutes about my case and he showed me the interview room. ( I was the only one in the office) but the basic message is keep in waiting.

I think if there are sports that involve being patient at the Olympics, then people filing at uscis would win gold every time.

Not long to go November filers keep on waiting

  6. Hi VJers

So it's been 94 days since I applied for EAD. I have put in a service request last week, and made an info pass for tomorrow. Will they be able to do anything there and then at the field office ( in Boston) or just tell me to wait longer ?

Any info greatly appreciated as I'm now stating to go a bit mad not being able to work. And the wife's jokes about being a sugar mamma are now old lol

  7. Have you called and ask to speak to a tier 2 representative? You can also make an infopass appointment at your local office. Some people are not approve at the interview and have to wait longer for their approval, so maybe you should try to get your EAD just in case.

I called yesterday they have put a service request in. The woman told me that I could have called after 75 days as that's the regulatory time frame . So we will wait and see still

  8. Hi everyone,

it's great to see we are all moving along and getting into the scheduling and interview stage, mine was moved into that on Tuesday. However I'm still waiting on my EAD it's day 73 now I saw most people have already got theirs. My question is can people tell me their wait from when they changed to testing and interview scheduling and actually getting an interview date and if any November filers are still waiting on their EAD ???

    Thanks vjers
