I checked when I got up, it was AP (it wasn't last night), I went to the kitchen to get a coffee, went on VJ on my phone, and then decided to check again! And it was changed! I am super happy but still I have a bad feeling, maybe it's not really printed...
You just made my day! I checked as well and .... miracle, it switched to "issued" (it was still showing "ready" this morning). So, the Paris Embassy finally manage to access the database!

Oh no! Somehow I really thought you received your visa already! Your interview was so early this month! Is it still at "ready" on the website?? This is unbelievable. I am really happy you received your visa sandraperry, honestly! No survivors guilt allowed here!! I have this thread open on my smartphone and I am reading all the updates! It's nice to talk with people who understand what we went through and why I am now getting upset (family and friends are just like "don't worry, you'll receive it in a few days", yeah right because we can really trust them when they say they're "doing everything to fix the problem"...). I just checked the ceac status, it was updated today, still at "ready". Perhaps it was updated because I sent an email to the embassy...
My interview was July 3 (actually July 2, but I had to come back the next day because their computer was already acting funny then and they could not access my DS260 online). However, I kept my passport with me for over a week to travel on business and gave it back to them on July 15 (if only I had suspected this problem!). So that's why it's now 15 days and counting. CEAC just updated the date but unfortunately not the status.

Today marks the 15th day since I left my passport at the US Embassy in Paris and no sign of any progress (CEAC web site status stuck on "ready"). The email replies from the Embassy to my inquiries are all about "apologies" and "exceptional circumstances". Will I go down in the Guiness Book of Record as holding the longest period between interview and visa issued?
-
I just emailed the US Consulate in Paris to see if they give me any news. Those of you still waiting for Paris, I will let you know what they say.
I did as well this morning. They replied within a couple of hours, saying that they are unable to access the State Government database and therefore unable to issue Visas on our passports. They also said that immigrant cases will be prioritized over other visas when eventually they clear the backlog

I am checking with all of the people on this post who have had their interviews but are now waiting to get their passport back with the immigrant visa.
I had my interview on July 3 in the Paris Embassy and was approved, but I kept my passport with me because of professional travel obligations. When I was able to plan 2 weeks without business travel, I mailed my passport to the Embassy on July 15. As of now, my CEAC case status still shows "ready", so I got worried.
Today, my wife had her interview (we are IR-5 with our daughter being the petitioner and my wife's interview was scheduled later than mine). She was approved as well, but the Embassy lady told her that there are significant computer problems with the centralized State Government in Washington and that Embassy employees trying to complete the process to issue a visa stamp are often unable to log on or bumped out before they can complete. Therefore they are building a backlog and the usual 7 day delay between interview and reception of the passport is now lengthening to 2 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this delay?

I had my interview today in the Paris Embassy (I am IR-5, with my daughter being the petitioner). My wife's appointment is not until Aug 7.
Here are the highlights, but I should really say the lowlights:
1. I inquired about my wide's case and a possible expedite to move her interview earlier. My wife's case shows "ready" on the CEAC web site, so I thought they had received the package from NVC (I traced through DHL one package which left NVC the day the interview was set and arrived a few dayes later). However, the lady told me that it meant the "electronic" package, not the "physical" one which NVC only sends a couple of week before the interview date. Does anyone know if this is correct?
2. After going through the normal steps (ID check, payment checks, and all paperwork validated), I was ready to conclude with the consulate officer short interview. But.... their computer system was not working and she could not access my DS260 online. She said that this happened before and that it's "Washington" playing with/upgrading the system. Bottom line: I could not complete the interview, I had to cancel my flight home tonight, stay overnight in Paris, in hope that their system will be working tomorrow.

Hello,
I wanted to find out of anyone had a similar experience. My wife and I are beneficiaries of a IR-5 petition filed by our daugther. Until now, our 2 cases have tracked together and they have reached all milestones on the same day. However, just upon NVC case completion, although we both received a case completion email on the same day, my wife's case was held up at NVC for an extra 3 weeks and consequently our interview dates are now 5 weeks apart (July 2 and Aug 7 respectively). NVC advised us to request an expedite to bring my wife's interview closer to mine. In doing so, the US Embassy in Paris is hinting that, even if my interview is held on July 2, I might not get my visa until such time as my wife's interview takes place. Are the 2 cases really that coupled so that they must conclude together or can one spouse receive their visa before the other one? I am questioning whether to further raise the issue next week during my interview or lay low and hope that at least my visa is approved and issued.

This is great for the medical! Was it difficult to schedule this late?
I really think your expedite request can be granted! I don't think the embassy will care to schedule the interviews at the same time. You could send an email to the embassy too explaining your case and see if it would be possible (ie available slots or if the same day would be possible). Keep us updated and good luck!
re medical rescheduling, one of the 2 approved doctors was very accomodating, although she was away that week just before my interview, her replacement was able to give a slot.

CALL THEM..... NOW! I want to know, I want to know!
I am so sorry!
Here is an update on my case and my wife's case:
1. I was able to secure a medical exam 2 days before the US Embassy interview on July 2.
2. I received the P4 email confirming the interview date on June 11, one day after finding out on the phone
3. The case is now in transit
4. We called NVC 3 times in the past 3 days to find out more about my wife's case. Here is what we heard:
- although technically "complete", her case was held up for review by a supervisor. This seems to be standard procedure for a few (random?) cases
- there was no particular reason (data) why her case was held up
- today on the phone, the CSR said that the supervisor approved her case yesterday, so it will now proceed to the next step
- yesterday, another CSR told me that interview scheduling for July was completed and that, even if my wife's case was finally complete, her interview would not be until August, at least one month after mine. So, he advised me to send an Expedite Request, explaining that her case was held up with no specific reason and asking for NVC to send the case to the US Embassy in Paris and requesting that they schedule the interview either with mine or shortly thereafter.
Has any one heard of such expedite request rationale and whether it's good enough to have been granted?

Congratulations, happy for you, it's about time!. It appears Paris embassy does not follow any particular logic. I will be calling later to find out about our case (CC May 27)
Just called NVC: good news and bad news. On the good news side, my interview date is July 2nd.
Now the bad news:
- there is no more slot for the medical appointment with either of the 2 doctors approved by the Paris Embassy, before July 2
- my wife's case (we are IR-5, with our daughter being the petitioner) has not been completed yet. This is contrary to what I was told a week ago and does not make sense as the 2 files had always been processed together. It means her case is still stuck in NVC and that means no interview scheduling as of yet for her.
I was told to call again tomorrow to see if her case will be completed by then and then to try and call the US embassy to see if they could schedule the interviews together.
NVC is really screwing things up.....

I did have to call to find out! And the lady, Olivia, told me I should receive the confirmation letter within a week!
Just booked the medical too! Boy, seems like things are suddenly moving so fast!
Good luck to you all

Case complete date was on our CC email. Here I am copying a part of it:
Name Provided: YYYY, XXXX
Completed On: 27 MARCH 2014 03:23:50 EST
NVC Case Number: BMBXXXXXX
YOUR CONFIRMATION PAGE IS ATTACHED TO THIS EMAIL IN A PDF FILE!
Thanks but the email I received did not have this information, and there was no pdf file attached. It seems like they used different formats to communicate about case complete, including no email at all (since my wife did not get anything!).
Here is the full email text I received:

I am confused by the exact timing of "case complete".
On May 16, I called NVC and they told me that had finished reviewing our case. On May 23, My wife and I (we are applicants and our daugther is the petitioner) both received the following email (exce

We have finished reviewing your case. We will tell you when we set an interview
date for your case. Please do not contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in
PARIS, FRANCE about your interview until we give you the date.
I called again on May 30th and they told me my case was complete on May 27th. I tehn received the formal "case complete" email a week later on June 3.

Felicitations!!!!!!
Merci! Long journey almost done, we started the process in July last year and it looks like an early July interview from what I can guess, so nearly a year in total. The immigration lawyer had told us initially 8 months!

When did NVC get your I864?? thanks man
2 1/2 weeks before they looked at it from when it was loaded into the system (2-3 days after receiving it). The first time it was 2 weeks and 1 day. Pretty consistent timelines, it seems. So, don't believe the 30 business days party line, it feels more like 12-13 business days
-
I called NVC late yesterday and finally the good news: Case Complete!
The agent told me that the petitioner (our daughter) will need to redo one more time the I-864 form (we already got a check-list once), because the amount in the I-864 form still does not match those in the 2 tax forms she submitted, however this was not another check-list, rather that she would have to give us the revised form in time for the interview.
Now waiting for confirmation email and appointment date at the Paris US Embassy...

Update from our side: after receiving a check-list a few days ago for the IV package (petitioner's birth certificate was not a certified copy), we submitted a certified copy (the only "original" we had kept). It was logged into the system today and within a few hours, my duaghter, the petitioner, received an email from NVC stating:
Dear Sir/Madam:The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: XXXXXXXX filed by YYYYYYY on behalf of ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.We received documentation for your case. Please allow 30 business days for us to review your documents.TheNVCreviewed the case file and the Petitioner's BC is still needed. It was not located in the file. So,NVClost the birth certificate we just sent, although it was clearly attached, with the case number references, etc!!!!! I am speechless. To make matters worse, I calledNVCand after 50 attempts with busy tone and 30 minutes of wait once the call got through, who answers the phone? Mrs Joy!!! She basically said "tough luck", we did not find your birth certificate, you can ask to search again but she recommended that we get another certified copy and submit it.What can I say, when it rains, it pours...... -
We got another check-list today, neither on AOS nor on IV packet, but .... on the fact that our daugther (petitioner on IR5 for her 2 parents) submitted 2 copies of her birth certificate with I130 (USCIS step) which was acceptable for NOA2, but now NVC requires 2 certified copies of her birth certificate, one for each of her parents. We did not know and we had assumed that, if USCIS had approved the petition based on the copies, they would be merely transfered in the package between USCIS and NVC and it would be OK for NVC. Wrong! So we now have to get a second certified copy of her brith certificate in the US state where she was born and even with the online process, this will delay by another 2-3 weeks

To Koekoe:
I found out through an email generated by NVC late yesterday and sent to both the petitioner and the applicant. I had called them yesterday at the start of their business day, but I got the standard "30 business days" party line. So, I can only assume the AOS package was touched during the business day.

Update from our end: I called NVC this morning to inquire about Case Number and it was indeed uploaded! So, from Feb 6 date when they received our file from USCIS to March 15 (or probably March 14), I count 5 weeks elapsed or 25 business days, in line with the quote that NVC operators provide of 20-30 business days. Saylin, please update spreadsheet.
-
Just called NVC to check on status of Case Number. Still nothing. Our NOA2 was Jan 27 and NVC received it on Feb 6, so it's now 24 business days and counting. The rep said she has no estimate and their backlog is increasing, so she suggested to call next week when we hit 30 business days! It's going from bad to worse..

CSC is fast. PD was July 31. I was transferred from NBC on jan 21 and 6 days later (jan 27) we got approval!
