  1. Hi MumtazG38,

The link to check if you have any pending fees to be paid : https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx. You can simply enter as Agent in the drop down menu, enter the case number and the invoice ID number. You are good to go!

Now regarding the UAE PCC, I went through the same dilemma, few months back while I was in the middle of this DS-260 thing. The good news is: You don't even need it! since the UAE police won't issue the clearance certificate unless the applicant is physically present in their land and it is regarded as unobtainable in the USCIS reciporicity procedures. Please check this link for peace of mind: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/AE.html

My recommendation is to go ahead and send the civil documents soon after you finish the online DS-260 submission. This will save you al lot of time, not to mention the fact that NVC correspondence is incredibly slow and unreliable! Well, atleast as per my experience, my wit and charm never worked a thing with them :)

Also take a print of the USCIS "Police Records" section in the link i provided above, just in case the consular at the interview asks your MIL about it.

    Good Lucks!

  2. Finally I received my passport back today morning. The waiting made us only desperate but it was worthwhile. Anyways for somebody in the similar situation: the tracking system for the passport delivery is not reliable as far as i have experienced. I couldn't figure out what was the real reason behind the delay and finding myself hapless when it came to expect any sort of support from the call center. A big thanks to all the helping hands here. Good lucks!

  3. Hi Lynkali,

Thanks for sharing..can you tell me if they asked your husband to create a profile in ustraveldocs.com and enter the delivery address? I assume there is some problem concerning the delivery in my case..and also did posti leave you the notification leaflet as usual or they contacted you via email or sms etc? Thanks again.

    Greetings!

Not sure if all cases are the same and it may depend upon how far away you live but: we had our interview in Helsinki on a Wednesday morning. Thursday morning the CEAC status changed to "issued" and the passport/packet arrived in Vaasa at the post office on Saturday -- however my husband couldn't pick it up until Monday because we still hadn't come back on the train until Saturday night. I suspect if we had been home on Saturday, it would have arrived at the door. Total time: 3 days probably, but it did take us 5 days because we weren't home at the time.

  4. Dear All,

I appeared at the interview on 3rd of February in Helsinki. On 7th the ceac.state.gov website returned the status update as "issued". I had been told that I will receive the passport back in a week. I tried to contact the call center and the embassy but left with no info. can somebody who went through interview in Finland tell me how long did it take to deliver the passport back to you from the date it was issued. I am actually in the verge of booking my flight ASAP so I want to know any approximate time frame. Thanks!

  5. Just send the missing document/information in the checklist to your spouse so can be presented during interview. Other than that your case it complete at the NVC

    Congrats.

When did you submit your AOS and IV documents to NVC

    Namaste!

Nepal bata hunudo raicha khusi lagyo! NVC le sabai documents 25th september samma ma paisakya thiyo..kehi karan le IV application form time ma review bhayena..aja call garda applicant lai forward garey huncha bhanera bhanyo..hoping for the best..good luck tapai lai pani..

    Best regards,

  6. applicant has to get the missing documentation and bring to the interview. The interview is not for the petitioner

this is what the letter says

" The applicant must present all required forms and documents,

including the missing items to the Consular officer at the visa interview.

Please pay specific attention to questions marked in the attached I-864,

    I-864EZ, I-864W or I-864A checklist. "

Hey, thanks for your info..the interview is offcourse for the beneficiary..that's a no-brainer..the instructions were also provided to the sponsor with a checklist coverletter that's why it created a confusion and I stepped in to this forum..

    Regards,

    Kumud

  7. Hi all,

I received a checklist from NVC today as:

"NVC has completed the review of this case. However, our review of the

I-864, I-864EZ, I-864W or I-864A (if applicable) Affidavit of Support form

and supporting documents that you have submitted indicates that there is

    still some missing documentation.

We are sending you the attached checklist, which indicates which

documents are still missing. You should obtain these documents and

forward them to the visa applicant so they may be presented at the final

interview. The applicant must present all required forms and documents,

including the missing items to the Consular officer at the visa interview.

Please pay specific attention to questions marked in the attached I-864,

    I-864EZ, I-864W or I-864A checklist.

Failure to present the missing items indicated and/or to make the

necessary corrections at the visa interview could result in a denial or delay

in obtaining a visa for the sponsored applicant.

If you need a new I-864 form, please visit the Department of State website

at the following address: www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov and read the

Affidavit of Support (I-864) instructions. From there you can fill out the

form online and print it to send to the visa applicant for the interview.

You will be notified when an interview has been set. Do not contact

post regarding your interview date until you have been notified. "

P.S: btw the missing part was the date and signature of the household member in AOS I-864 form which I am pretty much sure that it was actually not missed! nono.gif

So I am kinda confused here if the petitioner has to submit the missing documents to NVC or to the applicant?

    Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    BR,

    Kumud

  8. Hi apple21,

Thanks for the reply. My wife's father is a household member and we used his income source as well while submitting the AOS. She had sent the relation verification certificate that she fetched from the concerned authority(from the country of origin) and had submitted the photocopy of that along with the AOS documents. In addition to it, she also sent the copy of her driving licence and that of her father so as to prove the address of residence is the same. It is over 30 business days that we have submitted all documents and still we haven's heard anything from them. That's why we are kinda anxious rolleyes.gif .

  9. Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding one of the civil documents that I may have to send after the DS-260 online form. Do I need to send the birth certificate of the petitioner too as she is a permanent resident of United States and we have filed for Spouses and Children of Permanent Residents(F2A) category? I am making this query because this requirement is not mentioned in the travel.state.gov website for my case. While I called the NVC on why is it taking a lot of time to review my documents, after a series of confusing conversations the operator told be that they are waiting for the birth certificate from the petitioner. Kindly help me clear my confusion in this matter.

    Thanks,

    With best regards,

    Kumud
