  1. A little delayed on posting...

Had my interview in Boston (technically Lawrence) at the end of March - super smooth, whole thing including waiting took about 40 minutes. They did the civics test first and we moved on since I got the first 6 questions right, did the reading test and the writing test (I had to write 'we pay taxes'). Then afterwards, he went through my application to verify if anything had changed since I submitted teh N400 - basically asked all the questions that were in the N400 e.g. where i traveled to in the last five years (I was like wait let me look at my passport, and then he just spit out all the countries I listed for me...to which I just said yes). Then he asked all the questions that were in the N400 again like if I've ever been in a cult, committed a crime, etc.

The annoying thing about all this is that apparently the date on my green card was still wrong. I was part of the batch last year that was recalled because of an incorrect "resident since" date and apparently it was STILL incorrect. He said he would make a note in the system and hopefully it'll be fine during the oath ceremony.

THe only thing that had changed from when I applied to the interview was that I had a baby. He asked for my baby's birth cert but I didn't know I had to bring it, so I didn't have it. I only brought what was in the interview letter - both of our birth certifcates (since I was doing this through marriage), husband's passports, my green cards, etc.

Well at the end he said he would recommend my application proceed. Then that day I got a status update on USCIS site. Then 5 days later, I got another update that my oath ceremony is scheduled on May 3rd - about a month and a half after my interview! Very fast.

Congratulations! I got approved back in April 2018. Did get an RFE in March. Never received my GC so had to file for the I-90 and it got approved yesterday, after 4 more months of waiting. So hopefully I get my card very soon.

Guess what! I also got my i90 approved and just came home from traveling abroad to the green card in the mail. FINALLY!

Awesome, I don't blame you! Hopefully it goes all smooth and fast.  I would do it too if I had the money 😋

Yes!!! Oh man I paid 725$ for this. I really should tally up how much $ i've paid in application fees in the past 5 years to USCIS.

I just got an email from USPS that something from USCIS is coming. Probably another "no new info on your case" letter...I"m trying not to be too hopeful!!!

This time range is how long it is taking USCIS to process your case from the date we received it. We generally process cases in the order we receive them, and we will update this page each month. The estimated time range displayed is based on data captured approximately two months prior to updating the page. Please note that times may change without prior notice.

We have posted a “Receipt date for a case inquiry" in the table below to show when you can inquire about your case. If your receipt date is before the “Receipt date for a case inquiry", you can submit an “outside normal processing time” service request online.

Hey AngelXX, just wanted you to know that I gave up on waiting for my green card, and just went ahead and applied for the N400 and the processing time for that is 6 months (hopefully sooner...have a baby coming in 5 months...) and by the looks of it, i'll have my citizenship before I get my GC....

Also, I got a new extension letter but it states "this notice, presented with your expired Permanent Resident Card, is evidence of the 18-month extension of your status and work authorization.

My problem is I had my passport stamped on May and they took my greencard. Now, we have plans on going out of the country. Will they allow me to enter the US without th expired

    greencard?

As long as you have the i551 stamp in your passport (that doesn't expire when you travel), it's fine. I traveled out of the country with the stamp and no green card - the officers know the protocol is to take the green card.

Wow no I can't believe it's already 4 months since we got approved..lol. I can't remember but did you file for the I-90? I still haven't got a stamp since I got approved..Hope to get my card sometime this year. If not then well I might go get one xD.

Yea I did my i90, but nothing has moved, i presume because they're still trying to track down my i751 card. I should hopefully be getting it this month...

Ugh !! I'm so glad that I'm not the only one.. I totally understand how you feel! I didn't get an update since I requested for the expedite this. I did get a letter on June 1 that I don't have to do any biometrics.

welp i went in today to get yet ANOTHER extension stamp (the last two stamps were for 1 month and 3 months respectively; side note, can you believe it's been 4 months since we've been "approved?!) and i finally got a nice USCIS female officer who did not try to argue or give me a hard time and finally gave me a YEAR LONG extension. Hopefully I don't have to wait another year for this green card....

Update email to our I-90 was “we are still reviewing your case”. We were approved for our 10 year card in April too. Hubby’s greencard was never sent, it was part of all the date mix up drama.  We have our extension stamp in his passport for a year...but still no greencard. @AngeLxX any updates on your I-90?  I’m sooooo beyond annoyed.

You might be in the same situation as me as well! Angelxx and I were in the same timeline except mine were part of the batch being recalled.

I talked to a tier 2 officer a month ago and they said I should hear again in about a month (today). Alas, nothing. But they have it in the system that I’m still waiting. Have to go into the USCIS field office (for the third time) to get another stamp because they won’t give me a year extension!!!!

I think its a good sign that we’re still getting a case review update, because at least that means our cases aren’t lost in the wild somewhere.

  9. 6 minutes ago, AlluringSoul said:

Try saying that you spoke to a Tier 2 officer but you got disconnected. :-)

If that doesn't work, tell them that you would like to inquire with your local office on the status of the case and ask them to connect to Tier 2 to see if they can send a note. When I wanted to inquire about not receiving an interview notice, I said I'm worried that is is taking so long so I would like to speak to an officer to see where the case is at. They connected me right away and the Tier 2 officer sent a note to my local office to give me an update (which usually comes within 2 weeks -- more towards the end of the 2nd week).

    See if this helps.

Just a note on this - typically when you're transferred to tier 2, you get put on a "list" and they calll you back when you leave your number and name. they'll give you an estimated time of when the tier 2 officer will call back (typically 1 - 2 hours). So you don't always get to talk to a tier 2 right away. You could say "i missed a call from the tier 2 officer and want to get put back on the waiting list" but i'm not sure if that works without an explanation.

I basically just explained my case and made it sound so complicated that they had to transfer me. You could just say it's been a month blahblah and the last USCIS officer said I should have heard by now.

  10. 21 minutes ago, forzence said:

    Guys Please,

Does anyone has the number to speak with a Tier 2 agent? I might call them tomorrow.

There isn’t a specific number. You have to have a tier 1 officer transfer you. I’ve been denied a transfer before, just make sure your issue sounds like something a tier 1 officer can’t solve (which is basically anything that you can’t see on your case status site)

  11. 56 minutes ago, AnGeLxX said:

Nope still nothing, they sent me a letter in the mail that I had to file for the I-90 so I did on June 1. Also I requested an expedite on June 14. I have some updates on the website under "Case History" about that, saying that the expedite was completed.

Haha yeah USCIS is confusing a lot of people. Maybe it's wrong...lol

How do you request to expedite?

I called USCIS and they basically said there is no tracking info for me, and that I just had to wait. hwne I asked to be transferred to tier 2, they said they couldn't becaues there is no tracking so there isn't a way to help me. So I'm like GREAT, i'll just wait until something happens.

I'm doing it right now. In the beginning they are asking "Has your name legally changed since you received your Permanent Resident Card?  What I can choose from:

    Yes

    No

I never received my previous card

Do I need to choose "No" now and then at the end of the I-90 choose I never received it?

    Thank you again for helping.

I put no because I had a PRC (the conditional one). Unless you’ve changed your name since the conditional one but technically you’ve had a PRC. They ask you at the end what happened and that’s when you pick u never received your card.

  13. Just now, AnGeLxX said:

No I didn't. I actually got a letter in the mail today that I need to file for form I-90 to get a new card ! <_<

I read that more people had to do this, is this something I can do online or what do you guys recommend doing? I'm not going to pay another I-90 fee and do biometrics. That is just....... lol

Yup I did it. Just go on the USCIS website and file online for I-90. Super easy. You’ll need to upload two documents (old green card and I thiiiiink the approval letter if I remember correctly). Then at the end, if u choose “never received green card” the fee is waived.

So I filed an e-request on may the 9th for a new Green card since they never sent mine when I was approved in April. Expect a reply by may 31..So far nothing. Also nothing new since this is USCIS...  <_< But on the positive side at least I got approved. I guess I'm going to call them again soon.

Did you ever get a letter that you were one of the recalled cards? I wonder what's going on with that because you and I are on similar timelines and mine was part of the recall.

  15. On 5/30/2018 at 3:15 PM, boosbear said:

I was hoping they’d use my hubby’s old biometrics, but like everything it’s never easy & they scheduled another biometrics 6-12. They also want info supporting that we never received the first incorrect green card because they want it back, but we really don’t have much. I feel we are doing the biometrics again why is it necessary to send screenshots of tracking from the usps showing it never left MO?

Yes you should send screenshots of tracking showing it never left MO. When I was talking to the USCIS officer, she told me to do that but I told her that I never even got the tracking number in the first place so she had to screen shot something from her end. I would send the photocopy of the letter for recall and mail the screenshot! Do it asap as the 20 days is up soon!

  16. I got on the phone with someone who I had been emailing with about the recall as I was a part of the recall, but never received a green card to send back. After we sorted that out, I asked about timing. She said that there is a "special team" put together to work on this, and as of last week (before memorial day weekend - we talked on Saturday), the team had received over 6000 cards back. She said that she thinks they will start production today (Tuesday)..................

  17. Ok!! So USCIS called me back about the 8K cards recall after I emailed and said I couldn't give them evidence since I didn't have a tracking number or a card.

The woman very kindly sent me a screenshot of her end that showed there was no tracking number. She said normally, on your USCIS case status (not the DHS one), there should be a tracking number. Since my update did not have one, I was part of the pack whose cards were stopped right before it was mailed out. So all I have to do is send a copy of the letter that said my card was recalled and a copy of that screenshot.

Furthermore, she said there is a special team working on the 8K+ cards, as of last week, they said they got about 6K+ recalls, so they think they should be starting production on Tuesday.

  18. I just received this email, see below. How do I show evidence that "I never received the card"????? Aside from some calls to USCIS who said it was never mailed??

Thank you for your inquiry dated May 22, 2018 about your Legal Permanent Resident card. The Residence Since Date will reflect the date that you became a conditional or legal permanent resident, whichever is earlier. The cards that are being recalled have a Residence Since Date reflecting the date of production. It appears that your card may reflect the date of production.

If you have evidence that your card was returned to our facility in Lee’s Summit, Missouri or delivery was not completed, please attach it to your recall notice and mail it to USCIS in the envelope provided.  It is important that you respond within the 20 day timeline to ensure that your information is properly updated. As always, USCIS recommends that you retain a copy of all of your correspondence for your records.

For your reference, we are including the recall information.

On May 14, 2018, USCIS began recalling approximately 8,543 Permanent Resident Cards (also known as Green Cards) due to a production error. The Green Cards were for approved Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions of Residence for spouses of U.S. citizens. The cards were printed with an incorrect “Resident Since” date and mailed between February and April 2018.

USCIS will send notices to individuals who received the incorrect Green Cards and to their attorneys of record, if they have one. The affected individuals should return their incorrect Green Card to USCIS in the provided pre-paid envelope within 20 days of receiving the notice. They may also return their cards to USCIS field offices. USCIS will send replacement Green Cards within 15 days of receiving the incorrect card.

The recall does not affect these Green Card holders’ status as lawful permanent residents. If affected individuals need to travel internationally or prove their lawful permanent residence while they wait for a replacement card, they may contact the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283 to determine if they need additional proof.

Spouses of U.S. citizens may apply for naturalization after three years of permanent residency and must meet other requirements. The incorrect date on these cards could lead applicants to wait longer than necessary to apply to become U.S. citizens.

The email stated we will need to pay a fee....did you never receive your card also? Is there a link for i90? Thank you for your help.

I never received my card. I was very confused and an officer I talked to on the phone said maybe just go file for an i90. This was before I got the note stating that I was one of the 8k+ cards that were being recalled.

I just checked my status update, they have received my application and 4 days later, another status update stated that I do not have to show up for a biometrics appointment as they can reuse my old biometrics!

    Here is the link: https://www.uscis.gov/i-90

Just remember (I think it's either at the beginning or at the end), if you never received your green card, choose that as the reason.

My reply to our inquiry was too bad, we mailed it, you didn’t get it now you’ll have to pay again. When they never mailed it to begin with because they knew by mid-April the cards had been printed with the wrong dates. Why should we have to pay for a new card & have biometrics done again? This is not our fault. I hope you get your card, but according to the local officer here he said ours was never mailed even though it says it was, they just generated a label with a tracking number.

FYI if you request for a new card via i90 you do not need to pay a fee when you request “I never received the card in the mail”. Irequestrd for a new one and the online application was actually really easy.

  21. 1 minute ago, dw12 said:

I am sure you will get it from what I find on this site, TSC always mails out the card to you within 1-2 weeks after approved.

I would call USCIS ask a tier 2 officer to give you the tracking number 2 days after you got the case update. The USCIS officer I talked to told me they don’t advertise this but you can call and ask for the tracking number.

  22. Im part of the bad batch of green cards except mine was never mailed out. The uscis site says it was but the uscis officer told me that their screen shows it wasnt mailed out and there was conflicting information.

So i went to the uscis field office in boston today again to get another i551 stamp since they gave me a 30 day one and it was expiring. They were going to give me ANOTHER 30 day one but i said “the uscis officer on the phone said it could take up to 90 days”. Then he wss like “oh he did? Ok ill give you 90 days”. I should have just said 6 months!!

he told me to keep checking and calling uscis about the card and pestering them, soi called right after and they told me there was conflicting information about whether my card was mailed out so i am now waiting for a call back from tier 2.

    i need a drink.
