  1. Nadiya had her interview yesterday and I'm happy to report she passed. The interview was very short...perhaps only15 minutes. They asked her 6 questions and then asked to read and write another. They then went over the usual questions related to morales like drugs, human trafficking etc. Then they asked about the "Yes" questions like loyalty, supporting the constitution. That was pretty much it. Now we wait for the ceremony date. I'm very proud of her!!

  2. Hi All,

Well I got to say I've got a short story to tell. We received email notice about our interview and that a letter will arrive soon telling us when. That was on May 18th. Fast forward to Monday the 1st. My wife calls at 1pm to say she received her interview letter and that her interview was that day at 10am!! The postmark on the envelope was May 29th. I immediately called Lincoln and the military help line. They told us to follow the instructions on the letter about sending it back and explain why. They also send they will email the local office(Chicago) and explain what happened. When I got home that afternoon at 5pm I received a phone call from officer Curry. He is the interviewing officer. He said,he would get everything taken care of and set up an another interview date. This morning I received a new email notice stating just that. Much relief in our household :dancing: One bit of info. I was informed by Lincoln military helpline that they can tell you immediately after your case has been touched when your interview date is. They don't mind you calling to ask.either. If I had known that we could of avoided this incident. I know that doesn't help civilians but knowledge is king.

  4. Hello

I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this question. I got my conditional green card in July of this year. I am extremely happy because i won't deal with UCSIS for the next 2 years. My husband is American (obviously) and his parents are Irish. He plays the drums in a bagpipe band and next year he and the band are going to Scotland to compete in the world's bagpipe bands competition. He's very excited to participate there, his parents are going also and my husband wants me to go with him.....NOW, I have a conditional green card but I am Peruvian. Do I need to apply for a visa to go to Scotland, even though I have an American gren card? My husband and his parents told me I don't need a visa, only my green card but they don't understand that even though I have a green card, I am still Peruvian....can anybody help me with this???? Thank you so much in advance

    Hi,

Based on everything I see on the UK visa site is the answer is YES. Although I don't think it is a big issue. You've got plenty of time to get one. Makes it much easier because you do have a green card. Good luck and have fun!!

  5. Hello to all

Nadiya got her card today   :dance: This is so weird not having to worry about much for a while. She even has a job if she wants it. All the planets seemed to have aligned just right. I truly hope everyone else can feel this way. We filed in November of 2005 to start this long journey. Now we wait for our lifting of conditions interview. There are so many people here who are sooooo helpful. Thank you so much

I checked online and I find this. So put us down for a big " thank you" to USCIS.:dance::dance: Now we wait for our 2 year. Now I glad I did not file the EAD. I took a chance and it worked out. I am amazed it went this fast given we file just before the fee increase. Here is hoping that all you out there are just as quick.

  9. Helloooooo!

Well got our Biometric appointment letter and it is set for Sept 13th at 1000 am. Now that we know our "A" number how long before checking to see if we are in the system? Always so many ??????

    Nadya and Scott

Your "A" number is not what you need to check online status (besides the "A" number should match the one on your K-1)... You need your case number which is MSCxxxxxxxxxx

    Well got that too. Thanks

Well got our Biometric appointment letter and it is set for Sept 13th at 1000 am. Now that we know our "A" number. How long before checking to see if we are in the system? Always so many ?????? Well the good thing about the appointment is we will not have to drive to Chicago but go to Naperville. Which is so much closer....and easier to get to. I had no idea they had a support office out in the suburbs. Go figure.
