Hi All,
Well I got to say I've got a short story to tell. We received email notice about our interview and that a letter will arrive soon telling us when. That was on May 18th. Fast forward to Monday the 1st. My wife calls at 1pm to say she received her interview letter and that her interview was that day at 10am!! The postmark on the envelope was May 29th. I immediately called Lincoln and the military help line. They told us to follow the instructions on the letter about sending it back and explain why. They also send they will email the local office(Chicago) and explain what happened. When I got home that afternoon at 5pm I received a phone call from officer Curry. He is the interviewing officer. He said,he would get everything taken care of and set up an another interview date. This morning I received a new email notice stating just that. Much relief in our household One bit of info. I was informed by Lincoln military helpline that they can tell you immediately after your case has been touched when your interview date is. They don't mind you calling to ask.either. If I had known that we could of avoided this incident. I know that doesn't help civilians but knowledge is king.

Hello
I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this question. I got my conditional green card in July of this year. I am extremely happy because i won't deal with UCSIS for the next 2 years. My husband is American (obviously) and his parents are Irish. He plays the drums in a bagpipe band and next year he and the band are going to Scotland to compete in the world's bagpipe bands competition. He's very excited to participate there, his parents are going also and my husband wants me to go with him.....NOW, I have a conditional green card but I am Peruvian. Do I need to apply for a visa to go to Scotland, even though I have an American gren card? My husband and his parents told me I don't need a visa, only my green card but they don't understand that even though I have a green card, I am still Peruvian....can anybody help me with this???? Thank you so much in advance
Hi,
Based on everything I see on the UK visa site is the answer is YES. Although I don't think it is a big issue. You've got plenty of time to get one. Makes it much easier because you do have a green card. Good luck and have fun!!

Hi,
Well another milestone to reach for Nadiya and I. Seems really simple and I guess due to trying to get this packet done I just don't want to do a search to find out. So what kind of binder is ok to use. A small 3 ring? Actually, looking at our packet we have about 20 sections of information. So any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello to all
Nadiya got her card today  This is so weird not having to worry about much for a while. She even has a job if she wants it. All the planets seemed to have aligned just right. I truly hope everyone else can feel this way. We filed in November of 2005 to start this long journey. Now we wait for our lifting of conditions interview. There are so many people here who are sooooo helpful. Thank you so much

Yahooooo!,
Receipt Number: MSC0xxxxxxxx
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Card production ordered.
On October 30, 2007, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
I checked online and I find this. So put us down for a big " thank you" to USCIS. Now we wait for our 2 year. Now I glad I did not file the EAD. I took a chance and it worked out. I am amazed it went this fast given we file just before the fee increase. Here is hoping that all you out there are just as quick.

Hi everyone,
Just thought I would let you guys know that our case was touched today. Of course, this can mean many things. Still it seems that at least someone is out there working to get us our green card. we hope we hear something soon.

Hellooo,
Well our case has been updated and transfered to California service center on Oct 11th. Will received notice in the mail soon. I wonder if this a good thing with respect to the possiblity of no interview or just the misery of waiting longer. Well we're in for the ride and no way to take a short cut.

Hey to all,
I noticed that I did not let you guys know that we received our NOA a couple of weeks ago with a receipt date of August 28th. Every bit of information is another piece to understanding where we are in the whole process.

Hey out there,
Well Nadya's biometric appt. went very well. We were in and out in 15 minutes. Now we settle down for the long haul. We did receive her NOA1 too. We also tried to input our receipt number but it was not recognized. So I guess we wait.

Hey,
We got our NOA for our AOS on Sept 6th. I guess I probably need to go to the July filer. Not that it matters. We all are in this together.

Hi,
Well we received our NOA for the AOS on Sept 6th. We have a receipt date of July 28th. I guess that puts us with the July filers instead of the August filers. Seems USCIS is starting to catch up a little.

Helloooooo!
Well got our Biometric appointment letter and it is set for Sept 13th at 1000 am. Now that we know our "A" number how long before checking to see if we are in the system? Always so many ??????
Nadya and Scott
Your "A" number is not what you need to check online status (besides the "A" number should match the one on your K-1)... You need your case number which is MSCxxxxxxxxxx
Well got that too. Thanks

Well the good thing about the appointment is we will not have to drive to Chicago but go to Naperville. Which is so much closer....and easier to get to. I had no idea they had a support office out in the suburbs. Go figure.

Nadiya had her interview yesterday and I'm happy to report she passed. The interview was very short...perhaps only15 minutes. They asked her 6 questions and then asked to read and write another. They then went over the usual questions related to morales like drugs, human trafficking etc. Then they asked about the "Yes" questions like loyalty, supporting the constitution. That was pretty much it. Now we wait for the ceremony date. I'm very proud of her!!
