  1. Hello Everyone,

A friend of mine has a unique situation and needs some advice,

Some years ago, his mother filed for him as a family member (child) of US citizen and the petition was approved and sent to NVC. One year after he became above 21 years and USCIS sent a letter that his status has changed to F1 Unmarried Child. Now he is the US on F1 student visa and also engaged planning to get married soon. Can he filled for AOS of status based on marriage or he has to cancel his pending application with NVC first? Thanks for understanding

  2. Hey Guys. I am just curious to know if there is any body who filled his/her AOS from K1 visa since June 2014 and is still pending approval. My case has been pending since last year and they keep telling me that i should wait. They have sent me and extended EAD which i am using to work. I received interview waiver letter since September 2014. They told me last month that my case has been transferred to the Chicago Field Office. Please is there any way or advice which i can use to facilitated this process?

    Thanks

Please my Fiance has been able to get just tax return for 2012 and 2013 so i want to know if we can use those two years only or we must tax return for the pass three years before we can send the package.Your help will be kindly appreciated

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Hello Everyone!

Thank everyone for your contributions since i started my journey.I had my interview yesterday in Helsinki Finland and it was very easy with few questions i think less than 10 of them and they did not ask for any extra document apart from the ones they requested in their checklist.

I was approved after the interview and and my status today shows ISSUED.I wish everybody who is still waiting the best.

  6. Hello Everyone. Thanks once more for your contribution so far since we started our Fiance visa Journey.I just received my packet 3 instruction from the Finland Consulate and it shows that i have to submit the DS-160 form online. After reading some information online, it shows that i have to upload a digital photo when filling the form. Please those who have used this form of recent should tell me if it is compulsory to upload the photo and if they took their own digital photo personally or went to a digital studio to do that and get the soft copy to be uploaded.i just want to make sure i have all the requirements before i start filling the form. Thanks

  8. Hello Everyone

Thanks once more for all your support since we started our Journey.I am the Beneficiary and My application was received by the embassy in Finland on Dec 20th and my case status online shows "READY". Since then i have not heard anything from the embassy. Please i will be happy to hear from members who have passed through Finland whether packet 3 that contains the documents which are required for interview will be sent by regular mail by the Embassy to me or i have to check the required documents online from the embassy website because i have gone through the website but have not been able to see anything about the required documents there.

    Thank you all.

  9. The primary sponsor/ petitioner and the co-sponsor will both need 3 years tax transcripts. A few payslips and a letter from the employer stating salary and that it is a permanent job is strongly suggested.

Thanks for your response. i thought the three year of tax returns are needed for spouse visa and k1 fiance visa is the most recent tax return transcript.please i will be happy to hear from other members from finland who have actually had their interview in Finland. Thanks

  10. Hello Every one. I am the Beneficiary and I want to use this opportunity to thank everyone for your contribution so far including your posts and comments on my previous post.

We got our case number on December 18 and my case status online shows "READY"..My Fiance was studying last year and did not make enough money so her mum will be acting as our Co-sponsor. I have been reading post so far about affidavit but i am not really clear what documents do my fiance and her mum need to support the I-134 form.Apart from letters from their employers and pay stubs ,

Do they need most recent Tax return, tax transcripts, 1040, W2. which of them exactly do they need for embassy in Finland as i have seen that the embassies are different in what they ask.I will be happy to hear your experience so that she can start preparing them when she return to USA after Christmas holidays next month from Cameroon.

  11. Hey guys .. I need some help.. Me and my fiancé did a ( traditional marriage ) in July 2013. But we did not register anything or get a marriage certificate. And I included the the traditional marriage pictures as ongoing relationship (evidence).... Now I am worried that they may deny us a k1 visa .. !!!!Saying that we are married aready !! !!..I've read some posts about traditional marriages and some don't look good!!!. But traditional marriage in Uganda is not legal according to marriage law in Uganda.... I mean we had no any other option rather than the k1 visa.. What should we do? Any one with the same or similar situation??

Be courageous and face the interview without fear.Once you can convince the CO the traditional wedding was just a formal party to bring both families together and make you engagement official, he will let you be.If you let the CO knows that even you sees it a real marriage, then you may have some difficulties. In some countries, traditional marriage is considered a legal marriage so if it is not considered legal in your county and you can convince the CO in Uganda that you did it just for formality, you will be fine.I know people from Cameroon my country who have succeeded the interview for K1 even though the CO knows they are married traditionally Good Luck.

  12. It dosent matter if u live in finland, coz CO look at ur passeport where are u from, and no its dosent matter to if u are same religion, the problem is u met phisicaly only two weeks, me and my fiancé we met physically 4 months, so

Thanks for your reply. We have lived like friends and neighbors for many years in cameroon so two weeks meeting in finland was not our first time seeing each other and we did not need time to understand each other very much because we were so closed to each other. How ever i will still face the interview with what we have and i know all will be fine.

  13. Hello Everyone!

I am the beneficiary and have been living in Finland for 2 years now

Me and My fiance were classmate many years ago in our home country Cameroon before she traveled to USA.We started dating last year and she visited me in August 2013 which we got engaged. We then filed for Fiance visa in November and our petition was approved just after 19 days and it is on its way to NVC now before coming to Finland consulate where i will have my Interview.

Her visit in August was just for 2 weeks and now she is in Cameroon and will only return to USA in January which our interview will likely be in February and she can't make it here for another visit due to her job and she is just coming from work holidays.

I was wondering if we may face problems at interview in Finland since she has visit me just once in Finland. We have no other reg flags because we are from the same region, village, religion etc and more over we were born same year and month with me being just 5 days older than her and in our mid 20's now.

    Thanks

Our NOA2 hard copy was received yesterday by her younger sister in Ohio. Here are my questions.

1.Can i call the NVC after some weeks to ask about our Case number or my Fiance must be the person to call?

2.Should i contact the embassy in Finland to let them know i have changed my address or i should contact NVC instead?

Thanks in advance for your kind responses!
