  1. HI All,

I have 10 years of Green card based on my wife. I had criminal record, took plead guilty 240.20 (disorderly contact) and 2 years of probation which is already over.

I have passed 5 years without any criminal record. should I apply citizenship?

I applied n400 on 2017 based on 3 years of marriage , however I have rejected due to this criminal record on OCT 2015.

please help me to take right decision?

  2. Hi All

I have a complicated situation. I am having green card with 2Y condition. Now I am going to apply for removal of condition jointly.

The problem is we had an argument last year and she called police asking order of protection. However I was arrested and pled guilty PG 240.20 (which is a violation) and Order of protection for 2 years. It was a great mistake for us.

Now we have great family with new baby boy. Do you think there will be problem in removal of condition.??

    Advise me.

  3. HI I just got the CR1 visa and Also got an job offer from a company monthly $5500.

    Two questions;

1)What would be the after tax payment? ※offer mention they will provide 2 medical insurances.

    2) Do you think, this salary may give a simple and comfortable life in NY for Two people?

I am thinking to rent a house little bit of outside of NY!! please feel free to share your comments.

    regards

  4. Actually, I have changed the nationality from Bangladesh to Japan. I inform embassy before interview and they said me to bring the passport in the interview.

FYI I live in japan more then 8 years.

~~ moved to embassy discussion from IR1/CR1 process and procedures~~

If you need your passport you can request it back however you show Bangladesh as the beneficiary's home country which likely means that additional processing is needed vs a Japanese citizen

It takes as long as it takes to get the passport back. This is why we always say on the board not to make any travel plans until the visa is in hand.

  5. HI everyone.

    27th OCT (8:30~10:00)

I had an interview on 27th OCT in Tokyo, Japan. It was nice conversation with Person in charge of interview.

End of the interview he said, Based on conversation and papers, it shows that your marriage is authentic. Your visa is approved.

You will get your passport within a week. I was so happy and overwhelmed.

    27th OCT (17:00)

Again, Embassy of USA, TOKYO called me and asked me to submit the Japanese family registration.

How strange?? It has been a month they kept my all documents that transferred from NVC.

Now after interview they asked me to submit additional documents.

    28th OCT (15:00)

Embassy of USA, TOKYO got my documents.

    30th OCT (9:30)

Now I am confused that Visa is approved or not?

how long it will take my passport back? They should not keep my passport longer. I need it soon for office purpose.

do I call them to send me soon?? or not?

    best regards

  6. Hi

By the grace of GOD, our case review has been completed from NVC (IR1-CR1).

Yesterday got the mail from NVC.

Now the case has already sent to US consulate in Tokyo (on the way).

    Here I have two questions.

    1) During the NVC process, My nationality has been changed Bangladeshi to Japanese.

Do you think I should contact NVC or I should contact to US consulate in Tokyo to update the information?

Please advice which will be less time consuming process?

FYI I have submitted the DS260 filling with information of past nationality.

    2) My scheduled date is 6th OCT, Due to my business trip I would like to change the date. Do you think, it may affect largely in my process?

However, I would like to finish the hell process asap.

    Please advice me

  7. Dear all
Please advice me if anyone have ever faced in such situation.
①My wife(USC) filed I-130 for me which is in NVC stage and currently we are living in japan.
②I have also filed for Naturalization in JAPAN (For changing the nationality from Bangladesh to Japanese), which may complete within couple of months.
These two processes are running smooth at this moment, I assume that NVC process will finish the earlier than Japanese naturalization process.
In this case, First I may get the the US immigrant visa in Bangladeshi passport, after getting Japanese nationality my
Bangladeshi passport is gonna be invalid.
In this critical situation, I have three questions
    1. What would be the procedure if the immigrant visa in a passport which gonna be invalid soon?
    2. Can immigrant visa be changed from one passport to another passport in case of naturalization?
3.Do I need to inform US embassy while my passport gonna be changed?
    Please advise me.
  8. Dear Everyone

Actually I am writing on behalf of my friend. Please she needs advice if someone have faced same situation.

Friend's mother filed I-130 for her (friend) while she was single [around 2007]. In the mean time, she get married and

gave birth a child. The problem is she did not inform USCIS or NVC the marital status.

The papers has processed according to the normal way and this month she got the a letter from US embassy to contact

    for interview.

But she dont wanna move without her husband and child. Please advise me what could be the best way out for this situation?

    Best regards
