  2. Just received the below notification yesterday on the AOS:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On January 17, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number ..., and will mail it to the address you gave us

Kinda strange because last action was biometrics back in October, haven't had an interview yet. We already received the EAD combo card and received notification that there was an RFE for the AP back in December, we hadn't received the RFE yet so I filed a service request last week for them to resend the RFE. Is it possible that they just went ahead and issued the green card even though we haven't had an interview?

  4. Hi all, quick update. Ruby and I had a great wedding 9/13 and a great honeymoon in Cape Cod. Good preparation pays off because I was able to ship our AOS/EAD/AP package on Friday as soon as our marriage cert arrived in the mail. So back to the waiting game. :)

  5. Approved and issued!

Quick update. Ruby received the requested documents about 2 weeks ago and sent it all in to the embassy the same day. Status was updated 2 days later indicated it was touched and still in administrative processing. Status switched to issued last Friday and she received everything back from the embassy on Tuesday. She's back in Manila today for her CFO seminar. So glad to finally be through this part of the process and she and her daughter will be here on 7/15. Not a moment too soon, I'm drowning in wedding planning... ;)

  6. Quick update. Ruby had her interview at the embassy last Friday. She filed the DS-160 before getting packet 3 (and frankly still hasn't received the packet), called for an appointment and they must have had an opening because she called on 3/27 and they gave her an appointment on the 4th. So needless to say it was off to the races to get my I-134 in to FedEx the next morning (good thing I had already pulled together all the backup) and she hauled to Manila that Friday to get her medical done. The interview went well, normal questions which she handled well. They said she's going to need to provide some additional documentation: a CENOMAR (didn't think we needed one since she had all the court documentation from her prior annulled marriage), an NBI clearance under her prior married name, and a police clearance from Japan. Didn't really think we needed those things from the instructions we downloaded from the embassy website, but guess we did. Only real bummer is that the Japan embassy says that the clearance is going to take 2-3 months (though I see from some posts in the forum that it could take less). So back into the waiting game.

One thing I've had a problem with is whenever I go to the CEAC website to check the status of the application and put in her MNL number, I get an error message that says "Application Error An unexpected error has occurred while processing your previous request. The error has been reported to the site administrator; no further action is required." Anyone else get that message, or am I doing something wrong?

  7. First of all, wooooohooooo! Very excited for the two of you, so glad that things finally came through! It's felt like an eternity, yes?

My fiancé and I are on exactly the same timeline as you (NOA1 on September 16th, called last Thursday - weird!), so quite heartening news for us, as well. I definitely agree that it's been difficult at times to watch others' speedy progress, but your post gives me some hope that we're not far behind...

Another poster confirmed a few days that TSC is indeed working on this date range (2nd week of September 2013), so my next question is for the rest of you who, prior to receiving your NOA2s, had been told that they were "currently working on your date range". Approximately how long from the time when they were "working on it" to when you received you actual NOA2?

Trying to manage our expectations and minimize the intensity of the highs and lows (wake up everyday full of hope that maybe you have that fated email, go to sleep every night severely disappointed), so it would be great to have an idea of the timing from your experiences. Thank God for this forum!

Thanks all, and congrats again Gargravaar!

Thank you both for the congrats and the well wishes. Hang in there, sounds like you're very close. It definitely feels like an eternity at this stage particularly with radio silence until the normal processing time passes. Best of luck! :)
  8. Hello all,

I'm happy to report that at 12am on the dot last night I received a text from the USCIS that our petition was approved and the NOA2 is on the way! I called last Thursday (+5 months and 2 days) and they told me when I called that I should be hearing in the next week and if I didn't hear anything to call them again. Somewhat jaded at this point after having waited so long (and somewhat jealous while happy for you all that have progressed much more quickly) I chalked it up as I was going to wait a week and then call again, and again, and again..... So I was really happy when I woke up this morning and saw the text message and verified it online at USCIS. We're both very excited that the process seems to be finally moving forward.

  9. Kinda frustrated, see everyone having problems with their NVC and still haven't received our NOA2. In fact, no touch since alien reg number changed on 10/8. So seems like we're pretty far behind in the process compared to everyone else posting lately. Is anyone else in the same boat as us? Will it do any good to call the customer service number and see what's going on?

  10. I don't think you can do the interview in the US, it has to be in the Philippines. Also I am curious how you got your fiancée to be able to come here to the US? My fiancée tried to get a tourist visa but was denied. Also if they know you are trying to get a fiancé visa it makes it harder to get a tourist visa.

This is confusing. If she had a tourist visa she could have come over. Marry after 60 or so days and file AOS. Does she have a visa to enter the US?

As for the interview, it has to be done overseas for the K-1. My philly fiancee is currently working in Israel and confirmed it would be ok to do the interview in Jerusalem. However, the interview has to be done away. She shouldn't enter the US while her petition is waiting. As for the interview 90% of them have to be done alone. The exclusion is if you have kids you can bring them along if they are immigrating with you.

Thanks for the info. She has been able to travel here because she already has a 10 year multiple entry tourist visa. So she's been able to come and spend time with me as our relationship has grown, which has been great. When she came this summer to visit for a month, she did get extra questions at the border and immigration also called me to corroborate. They wanted to know why we weren't just getting married and doing an AOS and we told them that we were trying to do every thing right. For her to enter on a tourist visa for the purpose of getting married would violate the tourist visa requirements and we told them that we were in the process of applying for a fiancee visa and wouldn't be getting married until that was approved. The immigration offical seemed very pleased that we understood the rules and policies and were following them to the letter. With that, they let her enter with her daughter and we had a great month together during the summer. When she comes in December, she'll have all of the paperwork with her to provide the backup that we're following the proper process and I don't expect that they'll give her any trouble. It helps that she has businesses in the Philippines as well as other committments that help prove that she plans on returning. So we've continued to believe that if we do everything on the up and up and follow the process and rules that we won't have any issues, which so far has proven true.

  11. My first post to this forum. I found this site after I filed our I-129F, but have been reading up on the site ever since I found it. Definitely on pins and needles waiting for the NOA2. Initial filing 9/12/13, NOA1 9/17/13, alien registration number changed 10/8/13. Radio silence ever since. So hoping to hear something soon. My fiancée is coming again to visit 12/8 for another month, so looking forward to seeing her as we haven't had time together since August. Kind of hoping that things work out that approvals go through and maybe we can do our interview together here in the US. But frankly, we'll take the process as it comes and are just hoping that it's not too much longer before we can be together full time and start our lives together.

    Good luck to you all.
