My wife is a US citizen, our country is Laos. If parents have higher priority, what is the usual wait time for them?
-
Hello VJers, my wife is wanting to sponsor her sister, who is 18, to come to the USA. I've been researching and came across a possible issue of having to wait to 10 years before approval? Is that correct? Or does that only pertains to the countries listed at the top of the travel.state. document; such as, China, India, Pakistan, etc. Asking cause if that is the case it would be more reasonable for us to sponsor her mother, my MIL, who is a F1. Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks for the info! Well, she's still a year to prepare.

My wife will be eligible for applying for citizenship in a year. Her primary residence is Oklahoma. Can she travel to Minnesota and take the test there? Reason is in Minnesota they allow the test to be taken in our native language. I search the internet but can't find any information on this subject or maybe I'm just missing it. Thanks in advance!

Card Was Ordered To Be Produced
On April 15, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
So I think my wife's I485 got approved? Wondering cause you all seem to got a different case status update. I must have missed the "Welcome notice" case status update. Anyways, it's been a long 363 days wait.

Hey all, so my K1 fiancee and I got married and now we're filing the I485 form and all supporting documents. Here is a checklist of what I'm sending in. Please advise if I am missing something. Thank you in advance!
1. Payment in the amount of $1070 ($985 I485 fee, $85 Biometrics fee)
2. G1145
3. I485
4. Copy of Birth Certificate
5. Copy of K1 Visa in Passport
6. 2 Passport Photos
7. I693 (Enclosed in Sealed Envelope)
8. G325A
9. I864
Employment Letter Verification
6 Previous Paystubs
2013, 2012, 2011 IRS Tax Transcripts
10. Copy of I797
11. Copy of Marriage Certificate
12. I94
13. I765
2 Passport Photos
14. Copy of Foreign Passport
15. Copy of USA Entry Stamp
So, is this all I need? What is the purpose of all the I485 Supplement Forms and I do need to file I601 as stated by Visajourney's checklist?

Still haven't heard anything from the embassy in Laos. Case status is Ready, but that was back on November 8, 2013. Am I suppose to call the embassy and make an appointment? So lost at this stage in the process. Someone help?

What's up September Filers, I received my NVC case number this Tuesday the 12th. Woohoo! The total wait time for me from the time of NOA2 approval (10/16) to receiving hardcopy NVC case number (11/12) was 27 days. Right on schedule! So, what's next? From here on out I will be needing support from each and everyone ya. I checked the status and it says:
"Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.htmlFor more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV."Is an interview already scheduled? How do I check? Thanks alot! -
Thanks people! That sure is a relief. So what do I actually have to send in with my I-134? I know I need W2, Tax Returns, Bank Account Verications (do I need monthly statements still?), and Employment Verification. What else? This is for Laos. I understand every country is different. I also went to the US Embassy in Laos website and I got the "instructions," but would like to hear from someone who have already been through or going through the process.
And yes, I have received my NOA2 just this Saturday, the 19th, should I wait at least 5 more business days before calling about my case number? Are they going to send me a hard copy as well? Once again, thanks!
One last thing, I send my I-134 and all supporting documents to just my fiancee, correct?

Okay, so I forgot to make a copy of the check I sent with my I129F package. I was hoping USCIS would have cashed it but they simply debited it. Can I use the bank statement as proof? Since I have to send an "exact" copy to my fiancee in Laos. Also, does the consulate really look through that file anyways? Since NVC should have already sent a copy to him / her. Thanks in advance!
