Did you go to the post office to apply for a passport? I did it at an agency.

it was post office. Agency is only if you have to travel in a big hurry..I scheduled with another post office next Friday

Sorry for not updating earlier. Had my interview in the Baltimore office on November 9th. Was scheduled for 11:30, everyone who came before me and after me got in way before 12:30. My luck I fell on a slow officer who apologized for the delay. Questions were easy and verbatim from the booklet. Needless to say, because of the delay the same day ceremony offered in the Baltimore office was already closed out. I had to come back yesterday the 24th for a 10am ceremony. It did not begin until 11am but took about 35 minutes from the second it started.

ceremony only takes 35 min!! Mine felt like eternity..even without videos since their sound system wasnt working

On the Social Security, don't you have to wait 3 weeks prior to go updating your social inform? I tried to get a passport..man it was crowded..left and plan to go back another day

I answered mine ahead of time and signed and date the day of the event. Make sure the city and state reflects where is your oath is...they will explained if you screwed up, just draw a line and cross it out

if he is flying in and landing at 11 am and your check in time is 11.32...depending how big is the group, he may make it to the end for picture time mine lasted 3 hours because we have 502 or 505 number of people swearing in. It really depending on location. our is in school so we have people coming and going the whole time

Congratulations ten times over. I am still waiting for my oath letter. I filed in July and interviewed with the Fairfax office at the end of October.

thanks..hopefully you get the Field Office Oath instead of the school. I have to wake up on 6-7AM on Saturday to get ready lol

I am done! Oath ceremony today..man it took a long time..like 3 hours ++

Gave back the green card and the letter for oath back. Registered for vote and I will be doing my passport soon as well as updating my SSA info.

Total number of people swearing in today: 502 people I think or 505...But a lot! It was a chaos! You have babies crying and a lot of families members...but for me been in this country for so long, literally I felt like I born here..the only ties I have back in my birth country is just family and friends...I am so used to the way of life here ...So the whole ceremony is nice and long but sort of anticlimax after so long LOL......the high is when I got my GC...(a while ago too!)

Congressman from our district showed up and gave a nice speech though. Well done for the USCIS folks for doing the whole event..it's crazy

Please update my status. I received my oath letter scheduled for Nov 21...looks like a big group this round because they have the local high school area.

Saturday @ 8.30 AM...really why oh why!

Anyone has any recent experience on the oath ceremony? Are they will held at the field office or at Oakton High School? My wife plans to come along...how early they need to be there? Do I go in first?

the whole process is boring me ..... online status still says inline for oath but its not fair some ppl get same day oath ceremony ... but most of us waiting for a month or so it really unfair

Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by November 21, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Hi Demelat.. Im too waiting for it lol but if you look at the average timeline, it takes approximately 3-4 weeks..we are on 2 week + so long way to go

i had a traffic citation after i sent in the application. During my interview, I brought it up and the IO said if is under $500 and not DUI or anything, she don't care ...so she said I am following the instruction correction, do not need to disclosed

For some odd reason, I was nervous this morning. My nervousness went away the moment i step into the interview room

Fairfax VA

Arrived at 930am for a 10am scheduled interview. The room was packed like DMV! There are so many people in there. I think at least half of them are lawyers or significant others. My name is called around 10.40am. I walked into the room. My interview is a lovely lady. She went through my application and then test and writing. She asked if I hav been cited or arrested. I told her I got a traffic ticket and she asked if is under $500? I said yes and she said don't worry about it.

I was told my application is recommended for approval. She said wait for the letter and don't change your address since it will be mailed to me...

I walked out the building at 11.04 am

She only asked to see

1) passport

2) Green card

3) license

Nothing else.

Almost done..

Mine interview is tomorrow @ 10am!......perfect timing since I am working from tomorrow anyway because of Pope in town. I can walk to the interview place!

Yes that's pretty normal in some cases. I had my fingerprints done on July 2nd and every since then i haven't heard from USCIS. Some cases go through extensive background check so thats the wait.

Congrats...i remember that place. I had my GC interview there (via marriage) and I used to work like next building over (Bank of America) but now my interview place is in Norther Virginia and I am 5 minutes away where I live (walking)
