  1. Congratulations. You can travel soon as yo have View in hand I believe for your embassy that's within a week.

You can also request an earlier date. Your embassy is pretty accommodating on that. Once your casefile has arrived at embassy (you will know when your CEAC status changes to READY email the embassy even telling them your situation if you wish (In first post is a sample letter of what to write embassy). And wait for their answer.

I would have medical done noneish so when you write them you can let them know you have medical done and you are ready to go.

Some fellow Aussie re here and can better tel you what to expect and the time to Visa in hand. Sukie our Queen well she knows every thing I think she is the Empress of your Country in disguise (we are just borrowing her). :goofy:

Thanks Dwheels! But I'm in the UK not Australia now. Had to change Embassy (4 month wait) can I request an earlier interview in the UK? And how? I'm ready to go. Visa medical on Friday 13th. That's an unlucky date in England!
  2. Hi everyone,

    the AOS and IV are paid for. Now all we've got is an email pdf saying;

Step 3: Submit visa application form

    Step 4: Collect financial documents

    Step 5: Collect supporting documents

Step 6: Submit documents to the NVC

There's a checklist too. Is a 'packet' via snail mail a thing of the past? They haven't even emailed me the forms.

ALSO, all this evidence - can it just be photo copies or does it have to be certified?

    regards,

    Popey

  3. Wife is U.S. citizen but we've been living in Australia the last 4 years and she hasn't filed taxes (Oops.)

Can we submit the I-864 form without ticking the '3 years Federal tax returns filed' box? Her father is co-sponsoring me, earns a comfortable amount above the poverty threshold and has done all his taxes.

What will happen if it isn't ticked?

Or is this question really designed to check if my wife still sees herself as American because she files tax returns? Either way, she's very late in filing (although in our case, no federal taxes would be due).

We can prove she's intending to take up U.S. domicile again because we'd already shipped our posessions and got our newborn baby his US passport!

The reason I don't want to do the U.S. taxes is because I have to get an ITIN and I can't get a certified copy of my passport for quite some time and don't want to hold up the visa paperwork.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

  4. Hi Everyone,

I'm living in Australia and have an Aussie passport. I also have a British passport.

I got my NOA in October '13 so waiting for my I-130 to be approved.

I was thinking of moving to the UK until my IR-1 is granted but will this cause a problem? I know I can change adress on the website, but can I change countries?!

I don't want to have to fly all the way back to Sydney for an interview. My case hasn't been sent to a regional office, so I figure I have quite a lot of waiting to do before it's approved and sent to the NVC.

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Popey.
