  1. Hello!

I travel a lot and a few years ago I met a girl in Europe. She and I were together for three years and went through the K1 visa process. It was granted to her, she moved here for a year, and then the relationship crumbled. She returned to Europe, forfeited her papers, and we divorced. She handed in her greencard, too. She now has no more ties to the US, and I have no more ties to her.

Now, three years later, I traveled again to Canada and met another girl who I'm deeply in love with. This time, it's real. But, I worry about doing a K1 visa again? Is it possible to do it a second time for a different girl, once we're certain that this is what we truly want? I recall a question on the application asking if I've done this process before, and that worries me.

    Thanks

  2. Hello!

My fiancee and I are now married, and we are filing our adjustment of status and further applications. I have to include evidence of support with it, too, and here's where my question comes up.

I don't meet the requirements for support, so my mom is helping by being a joint sponsor.

I fill out the I-864, but does she fill out the I-864A, or just another I-864, like me? Or both?

Can someone please help me? I hate how vague these instructions can be.

    Thanks!

  3. Hello all-

I know this is going to sound crazy, but because of so many hectic things coming up over the past 2 and a half months, my non US citizen fiance and I only today married- with her visa expiring day after tomorrow. We're hecticly filling out the i485, the g325, etc... but I'm stuck with a few questions.

For one, with the i131, is this needed? It's the form that allows for travel to outside the US. I'd really like to fill that out so she and I could visit Canada together while I work there for a few days, but I don't have official dates for the trip. I understand if I want to take her with me, this form is needed, but how does it get filled out for vague travel plans?

Another thing, we did not apply for anything at the SSA, as we were not intending on immediately changing her last name. Is this a problem as well? Can we still apply for her SSN in a couple days, continuing to use her maiden name?

Is it a big deal if the forms are filed a couple days late, even if we married within the 90 days?

    Thanks!

    Jeremy

  4. Hello all- this is my first post on this forum, so I hope I'm posting this in the right place, and not making any mistakes here.

Anyway, I'm very nervous about the upcoming fiancee interview for the K1 visa. I'm the US citizen, and my fiancee lives in Austria, though I will be flying there for her interview, so she isn't alone, and God willing, have her fly home with me if approved.

I was looking for some quick advice based on our situation. We're both rather young. I'm 21, and she's 18. We're sure of our love, and so is everyone who knows us. I've done independent freelance film work over the last few years, but never made enough to have to file taxes. And because my work is all freelance, I have no official boss. However, this year, I'm making more than enough to support her and I, and in addition, I may be about to take on a second, very highly paying job in the next few months. My income will not be a problem, but I have no way to prove that to the embassy for the interview.

My mother has agreed to co-sponsor my fiancee. I have heard most embassies take co-sponsors, but some do not. Anyone know if the Austrian embassy does? And in addition to that, should I even bother filling out a sponsor form for myself? I'll have nothing to write on it... Or should I just let my mother be the sole-sponsor, to make things easier? She's fine with it, either way, and she does meet the requirements, especially if you consider her income joint with my father.

What do you guys recommend? And what proof would be good enough to prove her income- 2012 income tax statement? There's no way she'll get a letter from her boss, as recommended in the I-134 instructions. And any other advice?

Thanks to everyone for reading this. I have a tendency to worry about everything, and this really has me on edge.
