  1. My I-130 took 2 months to be approved. Follow Kiran n Suds advice, read that link and prepare yourself. The government, the post office, the mailman...they will all take their time, so its on you to be proactive and push, just keep researching and you will be fine. Get all the documents, fill out all the forms, that way, when they notify you, you just have to send them.

    Good luck

  2. Don't worry too much for the NOA2 since it doesnt mean that the NVC has your case yet. The NVC will send you a Welcome Letter with the instructions you need to follow. I had terrible problems with the letters, each one taking a month to make it to my home (my husband in the U.S had his letters on time).

I did not wait for any hard copies, I worked with the electronic versions. Example: as soon as I received the email from the NVC that my papers were sent to the Embassy in my country I created my profile at ustravel.docs, as soon as the system showed I was able to make an appointment I did, that appointment confirmation is what you need for your medical and then consulate. Long story short, my letter indicating me to schedule my appointment made it home 1 week after I had my interview at the consulate. That letter took almost a month to make it to my home.

    Good luck

  3. Hello to all,

My bf and I are putting together everything we need in advance. I've been reading and I'm supposed to receive a packet of forms that we need to fill out before the interview. It will include forms OF-169 and OF-230.

I CANT FIND THOSE ANYWHERE! Some people say it is an old version, someone said it can't be find at the USCIS website because its a Department of State form but I can't find it there neither. I'm lost. I need help from someone with current info.

    Please, anyone? Thanks!
