Yeah no, 230
You do the DS 260 Online form , which I'm assuming you've done by this point
I got Packet 4 / appointment letter today.
Step 1 on the green form is to complete the DS230 Part 1 & 2. That's wrong isn't it? We don't need to complete the DS230 anymore right?
-
Hullo! My appointment was at 8, I was out by 8:45, Approved!
We got there at 7:10 and by 7:30 a sizeable queue had formed, so recommend getting there early.
Altogether a very easy experience, the "interview" lasted about 1 minute, asked us how we'd met & when he first moved over, then said thanks for the clear letter stating salary in US (he's being transferred) and it was done.
The documents they actually looked at from our stack were
- W2 receipt from last year
- Marriage Certificate
- Birth Certificate
- Police Certificate
- Passport
- HR letter
We had a variety of other stuff including wedding photos, W2s from last three years, voter registrations, drivers license etc, but luckily none of it was needed.
-
Has anyone got their interview dates yet?
I 129F file Dec.4,2013
Approved January 8,2014
NVC received petition January 27,2014
Case Created Jan. 17,2014
Feb 3,2014 Case Ready
Feb 13,2014 @10:10 am Medical Exam
I have mine, it's on Monday. Got the letter on the 4th of Feb. Timeline below -
i-130 approval - December 5th
LDN number 4th Jan (dated 30th Dec)
Medical booked 15th Jan
Fart arseing about with GP until 22nd Jan
CEAC status update 1st Feb
Interview date 24th Feb.
-
Whelp, stuff was sent across last Friday and I was told they'd call with any issues, CEAC status is still at ready and hasn't been updated since 6th Jan, so guess i'm playing the waiting game and hoping they don't call.
-
Thanks, got *something* today, so we'll see what they make of it!

There's nothing weird, I don't have anything to hide, I'm perfectly fit/healthy, so is annoying to jump through these hoops, but oh well!
Just want to get it sorted
Wowza, 17 years! That seems so crazy that they'd be bothered.
-
Hullo friendly helpful chaps!
I've been bounced back to my GP for a note on more information on my PCOS/Metabolic issue.
Does anyone know roughly what the doctor needs to write in the letter? I was diagnosed with this condition 15 years ago and have had numerous different tests etc. I really don't want to go into the whole history in this note as I just feel it brings up more questions when the most important stuff is
- I am stable
- I am on no medications
- It in no way affects my ability to work etc.
Any advice?
-
Cools. Just wanted to check.
Anyway - don't freak out. At least you probably have time to get your jabs done for free at your local GP's, and I don't think anyone has ever been denied a visa for a bit of baby weight.

If you're worried about the turbo tax things (I don't know much about US tax yet, but that rings a bell - I think that's what Nich-Nick uses), order IRS tax receipts instead. They're free, IIRC, but might take a little while to make it to you in the UK. You can use them instead of using whole tax returns: http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Order-a-Transcript
Thanks so much for this Lost! They arrived in the US today and we're getting them Fed-Exed over. Pretty fast turn around from the US tax office, really pleased about that! Never would have known without your pointers

I had a couple of jabs at the old GP from mean nurse but she wouldn't give me a new MMR, so got that to look forward to at the medical. Bleh!
Really pleased you got your LDN finally Someshine, how annoying that it got lost in the post, I wonder why can't they confirm with an email, too much work I guess. -
Great News Snorbs...
D-260 is somewhat involved tip: write down all your addresses your spouse has lived at since 16 yrs old first as you will need all of them. All career job details for the last 10 years. You can take the first five years from the the copy of the I-130 you submitted and add the other 5 years as well on this new online form.
Remember to print off the confirmation sheet at the end after you have submitted (it has bar codes all over it)
Rest is pretty straight forward - hope all goes well.

So I just had a little freak out about this, because the DS-260 never asked me about 10 years of jobs. I've just gone back into it to view it and I only get 3 questions under
Work/Education/Training Information Primary Occupation-Select One- AGRICULTURE ARTIST/PERFORMER BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS COMPUTER SCIENCE CULINARY/FOOD SERVICES EDUCATION ENGINEERING GOVERNMENT HOMEMAKER LEGAL PROFESSION MEDICAL/HEALTH MILITARY NATURAL SCIENCE NOT EMPLOYED PHYSICAL SCIENCES RELIGIOUS VOCATION RESEARCH RETIRED SOCIAL SCIENCE STUDENT OTHERProvide the following information:Present Employer or School Name
Then
Do you have other occupations?
Yes NoIn which occupation do you intend to work in the U.S.?-Select One- AGRICULTURE ARTIST/PERFORMER BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS COMPUTER SCIENCE CULINARY/FOOD SERVICES EDUCATION ENGINEERING GOVERNMENT HOMEMAKER LEGAL PROFESSION MEDICAL/HEALTH MILITARY NATURAL SCIENCE NOT EMPLOYED PHYSICAL SCIENCES RELIGIOUS VOCATION RESEARCH RETIRED SOCIAL SCIENCE STUDENT OTHER
Then on the next page
Have you ever served in the military?YesNo
That's literally all i get, then it moves onto the "petitioner" bit.
Anyone know why mine is different to the published pdf? I definitely filled out the 260!

-
Your domicile stuff sounds great. I think you'll be fine.

DS-260 subbed
Medical booked
Readiness Form Sent off
OMG IT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING
Really sorry you're experiencing this Sunshine. Here's my timeline if it helps at all -
My petition was subbed start of November, received email notice November 7th
i-130 approval was December 5th (4 weeks, to the day!)
LDN number 4th Jan (dated 30th Dec) ( so 4 weeks again, give or take a day)
Medical booked for Mid-Jan.
Hoping to be out in the US in March, but we'll see

Much appreciated, I'm a pro at UK immigration and know nothing about US immi
Always could do with someone making sure I'm on track. My GP is nice, but the nurse is just really mean & she does all the injections
I'd rather pay more money and get them done at Knightsbridge (not really
)Just made the boy go request the IRS tax receipts, awesome, he can get them sent to his mum & couriered over.
I think we have enough domicile stuff, he got his state driving license renewed in May, he's voted every year, paid his student loans every month & kept his bank accounts up, as well as filing taxes. We might have a rental house sorted out by the time the interview comes along as well.
Stupid baby fat, I blame the baby, little freeloader

Just so you two know, they've replaced the DS-2001 with an online form. On the instruction page on the embassy website, read down the right hand column and follow the "read more" link after the bit about notifying the IV unit.
http://london.usembassy.gov/ds2001.html
You really have to double read everything on that page, because they seem to make an effort to hide things (you don't even "email" them - you submit a form). :/
Thanks Lost at sea, I'm good
Ds 260 all done, medical will be booked on monday and can do the "E-mail readiness form" which is NOT AN EMAIL AT ALL BUT A TRICKSY ONLINE FORM
Just freaking out at the following
- Zero vaccination records, so I'm going to have multiple jabs - Thanks NHS
- Bit worried as just had a baby, then spent 6 months eating nothing but chocolate & ice cream. Hope I don't fail the medical! I'm not circus fat, but I am a chubster right now

- Husband files taxes electronically, so only has turbo tax print outs (*sigh*)
- Waiting on BoA to send some original statements for his account to prove domicile
- Husband's HR department need to get a letter together as we're using his income to for the i-864 (he's transferring to US arm of international company and wages will continue)
You would think I'd be more organised whilst waiting for LDN, but christmas set me back a bit!
-
Filed the DS2001 today, when I get the medical time tomorrow I will send back the email readiness form and then its just making sure all our docs are copied and ready for the interview when we finally get our date. Luckily I applied for my police certificate a few weeks ago only takes 10 days so not that long a wait. (You will need this to take to your medical)
I have chased my GP for my immunisation records (have to call back in a few days) if they can not be found I will try and get my GP to do them again and document as its going to be cheaper than the Knightbridge Doc.
Loads to do we have to sell our UK home and car so once we get approval and we are good to go we have 6 months that's the time we start selling everything we own.
Expect JFK NY to be the point of entry for us maybe sometime in Aug or Sept 2014.
Our family in NY are more impatient than we are...but we are glad its finally moving and we can see a light at the end of tunnel.
Keep in touch let me know how it goes.
Wait, I thought the 2001 is no longer in use? I'm completing the DS-260. Then I'll book medical on Monday & then do the Email readiness form.
I'm doing priority for my Police Certificate, and I don't mind paying for extra stuff at Knightsbridge as I'm expensing everything.
-
Yah, I started it yesterday, I have a lot of the answers as I did my husband's ILR & naturalisation a couple of months ago and have been keeping a log of my us exits/entrances, but it's definitely involved.
Need my police certificate to come now, and also my GP helpfully had ZERO vaccination records for me, so I'm having to have them ALL again = fun times!!!!!
When are you hoping to get out there?
-
Ditto! Mine arrived today, dated 30th Dec as well.
Looks like we're on similar timelines

As luck would have it packet 3 and my LDN came today in the post (Saturday 4 Jan) The letter is dated 30 Dec so took a few days to get here.
Will now book my medical on Monday.
-
I can definitely get through to a real person on - 001 603 334 0700
But "Computer says no"
I was too busy to try and call today, but you're welcome to try that number and see if you get better results than me

Digitally wise, I tried emailing, but got "this email box is now closed" , I can't get through to the London embassy at all, all just recorded info.
-
I absolutely tried to explain. Very politely as well, but I have honestly never had such a "computer says no" experience in my life!
If you do get through and get more love, I'd be really happy to hear
IF you could confirm what number you used as well, that would be great. I might get my Husband to call as he might have better luck with his Texan accent! How long has it been Appleslices that you have been waiting for your LDN number?
I've been waiting nearly 6 weeks, I emailed but then they advised the wait is 8 weeks and I will hear.
Not sure if I am being impatient - not generally a good thing I guess we have to accept that the Government machine works slow, we aren't the only ones being dealt with. The Holidays will have slowed things up somewhat.
I haven't called DoS as yet but will try this afternoon from the UK its 11:00 am here so may wait till this afternoon to get them on EST (5 hours behind us).
Did you explain you filed with the consulate direct in London and not the NVC centre? That may be the reason why they are confused your NOA1 (like mine) will not have a receipt number on there as it wasn't generated by NVC in the U.S - it came from the London Embassy.
I'll let you know how I get on.

-
I'm wondering the same thing as I'm in the same boat, but when I call this number -
For inquiries about visa cases and the application process call: (202) 485-7600, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST.
The people there just ask me what my case number is, and then when I don't have one, hang up on me
Is there any special wording or anything I should be asking for? because they literally just go "What is your case number, you will have one, it's on your NOA1" and wont listen to reason, then hang up (This has happened 3 times now!)
-
Thanks everyone! Does anyone know about this -
- Completed I-130 form by petitioner
Address in the United States where your relative intends to live. We don't have this yet, as we want to move out together, or at least my husband doesn't want to move out until we're closer to having the visa. What do we put here? We can put his mother's address but we don't intend to live there. (It's in Texas, we're moving to California)If they do, I can get the application in the post tomorrow

-
Hello all,My husband and I have been married for 3 years and have a baby together, the baby has his US passport and we're looking to move to the USA ASAP. My husband has ILR (with BRP) and is applying for naturalisation this week (he's been in the UK for 7 years, four as a student, 3 as a spouse), his company is UK based and is transferring him to the US office.Couple of quick questions....Your pack will include any of the following (*asterisk is an optional item, depending on your specific case):
- Completed I-130 form by petitioner
Address in the United States where your relative intends to live. We don't have this yet, as we want to move out together, or at least my husband doesn't want to move out until we're closer to having the visa. What do we put here? We can put his mother's address but we don't intend to live there. (It's in Texas, we're moving to California)- Evidence of petitioner’s US citizenship (birth certificate or copy of biographic information in passport)
We have both of these, I understand that London doesn't want certified at this stage, so they're just straight photocopies, correct?- Evidence of petitioner’s UK residency (photocopy of visa and entry stamp is ideal - they want to see how long you’ve had UKBA entry clearance)
This is fine, we can photo copy the BRP, his original entry stamp is seven years ago, with his student visa, do they want this or is ILR BRP photocopy enough as you need two years of FLR to be eligible for ILR?- Marriage certificate (photocopy only)
We were married in UK and have this.- 2 x G-325a biographic information forms (one each, both with US-sized photographs attached)
Fine. These have been endorsed by a CEO/Bank official- Divorce decree(s) for any previous marriages for either petitioner or beneficiary*
N/A- E-notification form G-1145 with petitioners email*
Fine- Record of any name-change if different from any official documentation*
I kept my maiden name after marriage, problem?- Payment form ($420)
Fine, we're using a US debit card to pay, problem?- Ticked-off checklist
Fine- 1 self-addressed envelope with a first-class stamp attached (this will be used to send you your NOA1 approval notification). Address to petitioner.
Fine- Translations of any of the above if not in English*
N/APacket 2 -I-864 Affidavit of SupportOn the financial side, my husband could get a letter from HR showing his salary plus payslips and stating his salary in dollars will continue once we move, is this enough? It's well above the poverty limit requirements. We also have about £20K in available savings.Evidence of domicile - Well, we're selling up and shipping stuff so I have quotes on this, he's kept and recently renewed his TX drivers license, he's always filed taxes, he's kept both a credit card and his bank account open over the years, we've visited at least once a year, anything else?

Patiently awaiting interview date. Who else here is waiting?
