  1. Hello,

Its been a while since I posted here. My timeline is ancient and I have since gotten my

fiance to the US and we've been married for 3 years now and have a daughter. My

mother-in-law has visited us in the past on a B2 visa. She has Ukrainian citizenship

and passport. I have heard that there is a new entry form for US visitors called the ESTA.

Has anyone had a relative visit the US from Ukraine recently and did they have to

fill out the ESTA before coming? Its unclear to me if she would need this if she already

    has the B2.

Thanks and good luck to you all on your visa jouneys!

    Dennis and Tanya..

  2. Hello all,

Sorry but my timeline info in my sig is out of date but I wanted to report our DORA processing time to the board. We have gotten electronic notifciation this week saying that Tanya's adustment has been approved and another saying that the card will be processed soon.

    Timeline:

10/23/06 - filed 485 in Dallas office under DORA

    11/25/06 - fingerprinting/bio

    1/19/06 - notice of approval

1/24/06 - notice of card production ordered

I hope that knowing the procesing time will help others.

Good Luck to all on your visa journeys!!!

    Dennis and Tanya!

  3. 1. Be sure to take a Money Order or a Cahsiers check for payment. On my first trip to the USCIS office for the DORA I made the mistake of taking a personal check because I was unsure of the amount to pay. I was refused and we had to reschedule for a later date which cost me a 3 week delay.

    2. We had our DORA interview on Oct 27. The processing officer told us that their goal is to have 60% of the applications processed in 90 days. He would not elaborate on how well they were meeting the 60% goal. We went for the fingerprinting on Nov 24th and we are currently in a waiting pattern.

    3. Good luck!!!

  4. We filed my wifes AOS request via the DORA on Oct 23. Initally I had expected the

adjustment to be immediate but soon found that I was incorrect. The case worker

who we worked with told me that the aim to have 60% of the AOS requests completed

within 90 days. He mentioned sending them to Chicago for processing Im still within

the 90 day goal period but I was curious if there were others on the forum who have

gotten the AOS via the DORA method and how long they waited. Also if there are

others who are currently waiting and how long ago they filed.

Thanks for all replies and good luck to all!!!

  5. The fingerprinting fee of $70 is in addition to the $325 filing fee, right? So I need to send them $395 total, correct? And do I send that as one check, or a separate check for the 2 fees? Thanks.

I live in Dallas and showed up to to the DORA adjustment in person. I too had a question

on the amount and took my checkbook. I was told that only a Money Order or Cahsiers

check would be accepted and I had to reschedule. He next appt was 3 weeks later. I didnt

have that problem when I wrote a personal check for the I-129 processing in Dec 2005.

ot sure what your experience will be but consider using a cashiers check or money order.

BTW, to answer your question I gave them one money order for the same amount of $395.

  6. Hello All,

I just got fantastic news from Tanya. She passed her interview at the embassy in Kiev this morning. I am elated! It has been a long haul but we finally see light at the end of the tunnel. I will make a trip to Ukraine next month and she will be coming back home with me. We are looking at a wedding for early August.

    :yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

  7. You better arrange something special for this day if you are engaged with

a woman from one of the former Soviet countries. Im sending 11 roses to

my lady in Ukraine, and will call her that day too.

They really dont observe Mothers Day there and Valentines Day is relativly

new to most of them there so it is no big deal, but March 8th Womans Day

is basically what we observe on Valentines and Mothers Day rolled into one

big day for women. They even take a coupl of days off for a holiday when

    this on rolls around.

  8. Hello all,

I was told by someone that as a result of new laws that are going into

effect this year that any k1 applications that are have been submitted,

may need to be re-submitted in March. This person referenced this link:

    http://www.gop.gov/Committeecentral/bills/hr3402.asp

I did not see anything that said that explicity, but has anyone heard anything

similar about having to re-file? I hope that this person that old me this is just

    not very well informed.

I know that I am waiting anxiously for my 2nd NOA. I filed just before Christmas

with TSC->CSC and the official rec date was Jan 3rd. The uscis website says that

they are now processing applications rec on Dec 31.
