  1. Alhamdulillah my AP ends after like 2.5 years. November 2011 was my interview and now I have my visas in hand.

14th July was the date for fingerprints and oath. 15 Jul it was issued and got the courier in 4 days. Haven't used the forum in awhile but just to let people know, hope is the key and may Allah bring ease in all of your matters. Thank you all for your continous support and information.

This all happened after we contacted the Senate and they inquired with the embassy that why it was taking so much time. Embassy started to response and correspond. Asked us for updated medicals and ds260s. We got the call for fingerprints and oath pretty much after this process.

  2. guys my brother had his interview on 21 oct 2013(our whole family had interview in 2010 but due to AP/retrogression we were stuck for 2 years-F4 category)The lady who interviewed him told that the whole family's AP is done and even showed a file with CLEARED written on it.She said we'll receive our visas in 9-12 weeks. Our 12 weeks are almost up but our status is still under AP on the website.the last update was on 10 jan.Should we contact the embassy or let 12 weeks run out first. We've been waiting for more then 2 years now!

Sometimes the F4 can take alot of time and when in AP, it takes more than usual time. You shouldnt contact the embassy before the time period they have provided to you.

And maybe you might get the visa soon. So just wait for your time to get over and then contact the embassy.

  3. Dear all,

Sorry for not posting it earlier... but

my husband finally got his visa after 2 and a half years in AP - I believe we are one of the older cases on this forum.

His status changed to "Issued" on December 9, 2013, and the next day the date changed to December 10, 2013, but the status remained "Issued". After that, in a few days he received his passport with the visa, we bought a ticket and he arrived here. Now we are a happy united family - two of us and our new baby :)

I hope the embassy really started working on all the cases - old and new - with dedication, and you, who is still waiting, will receive the good news soon.

    Good luck!

    Awesome!

  4. ours updated rapidly, 5 in 5 days back in September. But then there was nothing at all for 4 months! But we got 2 in 2 in the last 2 days. But ive learnt to not get excited with these updates untill we actually get a call to pick up the passports! and im ready for an everlasting AP but, lets just hope for the best!

    Thanks patientguy94!

I am sorry its taking them so long to issue you your visa, after so many updates I was sure they had made up their mind!

Well Good luck to you and all others stuck in this process.

Waleed39, yes youre right. But on the 26th, my mom's status changed from ready to AP. No updates since then.

We get excited cuz its always a good sign.

    ZirZai,

I'm happy for you mate. Really. And i hope your future is good inshaa'Allah. You've contributed alot too by making this list. Oh well i thought too after so many updates they should've made up their minds. 2 years and 1 month now. Hope it ends soon.

  5. Cindrella,

Administrative processing is just a fancy way of saying that the officer you interviewed with can do no more on your case. He has approved you for the visa but must check with Washington to make sure it is okay to issue it. This is most common in males 16-45 from certain countries. It doesn't mean you did anything wrong, or that anyone did, but possibly someone with a name close to yours [or something else] did something and they need to clear your name or something about you. It generally has nothing to do with the applicant but the US wants to protect itself from any problems no matter big or small,.Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicants interview by a Consular Officer. Applicants are advised of this requirement when they apply. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case. Visa applicants are reminded to apply early for their visa, well in advance of the anticipated travel date.

  6. Fulbrighter 2013,

I love the way youre determined and why not? Everyone is about the future. But i guess everyone should be prepared for AP, especially us in Pakistan.

So to say, if they were so worried about our future and everyones' frustrations, they would be issuing visas as per the required or estimated time. But, the time of the processing exceeding the limit of one's patience shows they dont give a rat's of our future or how frustrated everyone is.

So you suggest we make our voices heard and make them realize? They already know everything but they dont care. Inefficiency is not the only reason for the long APs. God knows what it is. Maybe just the way they work. And totally agree, i've read on this forum about people having to resubmit documents cuz the embassy lost em. Daewoo surely doesnt lose your cargo xD

And from what i observe, i guess you applied for a student visa, i dont know the types. But for whichever degree they issue the visa i think you can travel in the next month(as my friend did when he applied for his bachelors degree in chicago. He was issued a 5 year visa). But your passport should be valid. It shouldnt be expiring within the next 6 months of your travel.

  7. mashaAllah my bro had his interview for b1 visa and the isb embassy VO says he'll get the visa in 5-6 days...

do they even knw or care to knw that my case is pendingggggg...

they reply with the standard template no matter what the query is.. guess they're too bogged down with requests on statuses...

That happened with my friend too. He got his student visa within 5 days. But he told me about alot of students getting rejected and not getting their visa. In case you were wondering, he had his interview in karachi.

All i can say is bro, we cant rely on this. Cuz you never know how long the processing takes. Everyone should always have a plan B or a way to keep themselves busy.
