  1. Hi,

I am a Aug 2013 AOS filer under F2A. I got my GC in 2012 and filed for my wife and daughter in Aug' 2013. Everything went very smooth like we got Bio metrics, EAD with AP and also had interview on Nov' 7th. But at the interview the IO said that they haven't received I 130 receipt and will approve once they received it. I got their I 130 approved by CSC on Aug 15 2013 and my receipt date was Aug 13 2013. I couldn't attached the original I 797 at the time of filing, but I did send the copies once I received. Just imagine, it's been so long since Nov 7 and no progress t all, still my case is showing Testing & Interview, isn't it crazy?

Is anyone else on the same situation? I called USCIS and heard that my local office is still processing and my case is with in the processing time. What should I do now other than waiting?

    Please advise.

  3. Hey All,

Just wanted to give you an update. On Thursday, the day after my interview, I received notification that they've ordered production of my card.

Thank you all for posting your experiences, they were of much help and good luck to the rest of you.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I hope you hear something soon. Just give it another week or so then you can consider doing the infopass. I know you live far away so that's kind of a bust if you have to come all this way and get nothing.

Congratulations Yaadie ! I am so happy for you. Enjoy your Green Life and thanks for your wishes. I am hoping to hear something sooner.

  4. Hey All,

My husband and I had our interview today at the Jacksonville, FL office. The experience was an interesting one to say the least.

We got there at 8am as our interview was at 8:15am. We did not get called in until approximately 9:15am. When we got into the room there were two ladies in the room and they told us before we sat down they needed to swear us in. One of the ladies had a very stern face, like she was all about business. The other seemed very pleasant. Anyhow, they swore us in and we sat down. The stern-faced lady proceeded to ask me what documents we brought in. I showed her a folder that contained our joint bank statement, lease, renter's insurance, health insurance, a few photos, etc. She looked at it then she asked if we had photos from the wedding. We only had two photos from that day as it was a civil ceremony and we didn't do anything fancy. After looking through the folder she said "i'm going to ask you to wait in the lobby, I want to ask you questions separately." The other lady then escorted me back to the lobby and my husband stayed back. They questioned my husband (who is an American citizen) for approximately 45 minutes. Unfortunately, my husband is not one for recalling events so he could barely remember what was being asked, but he basically said they asked him about his previous marriage, asked him about my family, places we lived, when he got robbed (I guess the found this out from the background check), etc. After they were done with my husband, the stern-faced lady came to get me from the lobby. For another 25 minutes or so she asked me questions ranging from whether I knew my husband's ex-wife, to all the places we lived together to how my parents were able to financially support me while I on my F-1 visa since I was from a third world country. I was a little offended and annoyed by some of the questions but I kept my cool.

The whole time the stern-faced lady asked me the questions, the pleasant face lady sat there and listened. After the stern-faced lady was done with her interrogation, both women stepped outside the room for about 3 minutes and when they returned my husband was with them. The pleasant-faced lady then took over the interview and said she was going to go over the application with me. She then asked me the yes/no questions from the I-485 application and she took all the supporting documents we brought and handed the folder back to me. (FYI, they took my i-94 and passport earlier in the interview). After she was done, she asked me to confirm my signature on one of the apps and then she said she was going to do some administrative work on my application. She said if she needed anything else, she would send me a letter in the mail and I can just mail it back to her. She then said "you should expect your card in the mail in about 20 days." They both then thanked us for coming and they walked us out.

With all of that said, I have no idea if we were approved or not. I did not get any text or email and my status has not changed online. So I guess right now, I am just waiting.ClockWatch2.gif

    A little background:

My husband and I have known each other for 7 years, lived together for 5 years. We just got married in April of this year.

    Yaadie,

First of all, Congrats on your interview. My family was interviewed at the 2nd office on your right when you enter the door by an OLD lady (hope the same on one of the lady at your interview). She was pleasant but so confused on what she is doing mixing my wife's and daughter's paper and etc, etc. But she only asked us the Yes/No questions and verified the signatures, etc. She didn't approve our case..YET as I 130 receipt is still pending (I thought of getting an Infopass sooner). I hope your case will be approved as it needs only some admin work. Good luck and keep me posted.

  5. How long have you been on Testing and Interview?

    Hi,

I got my interview done on Nov' 7th and everything went well except the USCIS been waiting on I 130 receipts at the NVC. The I 130 was approved on Aug 15th and my receipt date was Aug' 13th. I showed them the approval copy (I 797) but still my case is under T&I and awaiting for the approval.

Have you got your interview done? or Awaiting for the interview date?

  6. I am the petitioner and applied for my family under F2A. My interview was on 7th November. interview went very well and the IO took the I-94 off from the passport and gave a letter saying "Awaiting for the I 130 receipt at NVC" and the status is still "Testing & Interview". My I 130 was approved on Aug' 15 and my RD was Aug' 13, so, I sent the approved copies of I 130 as 'Supplemental' to USCIS and still they haven't received the receipt. I don't understand what's going on.

It's been over 2 weeks now and shall I get an Info pass? If so, how can I get the info pass under which category? I heard that you can't get an info pass before 45 days on pending any cases.

Please help me and waiting is so frustrating.

  9. Hi, we had our Interview today. The officer was so cool and only asked a few questions like our names, Date of birth..... She asked for some document showing our names and no more, that's all. When we got out I found she took my I-94 and at the interview the IO gave us a notice saying: "Your case is being held for review........ otherwise, a final decision will be mailed once your case is completed".

I want to know if the fact of taking the I-94 from my passport is a good signal.

*our case online is still on "testing and interview" (I-845)

    *I-130 Initial review.

    thanks.

Same here Rj4. My interview was on 7th November. Yes, the IO took the I-94 off from the passport and gave a letter saying "Awaiting for the I 130 receipt at NVC" and the status is still "Testing & Interview". I am hearing there are many in this thread on the same situation. My I 130 was approved on Aug' 15 and my RD was Aug' 13, so, I sent the approved copies of I 130 as 'Supplemental' to USCIS and still they haven't received the receipt. I don't understand what's going on.

Let's hope for the best and wishing you all to get the approval sooner. Please keep posted.

  10. Congrats !!!

I received my GC today ..

and my 1st annniversary is a week from tomorrow smile.png

    what a coincidence ...

    Congrats !

Hope you remember me. Mine is still on the same status "Testing & Interview" as the I 130 receipt is pending. I even called USCIS and heard that it is purely the IO decision at the interview or the IO should request for the receipt. Nothing very useful on my call. I am still hoping to hear the CPO sooner.

    Enjoy the Green Life !

  11. Hey Everyone,

I picked up the letter from the post office today. USCIS rescheduled my interview for December 4. There was no explanation, just 4 sentences telling me the date and time and a reminder that if I missed the appointment it will be considered an abandonment.

ashok_ajsj did your card go into production yet?

Not yet Yaadie, checking the status online everyday. I 130 was approved on Aug 15th just a week after I filed the I 485, I showed them the original I 797 approval notice and also gave them a copy. The IO said, the National visa center didn't receive the receipt yet..don't understand why? and don't know when I can see the AOS approval.

I am sorry to hear that your interview date has been postponed, No worries, just be on time (don't go too early) and good luck.

I will keep you posted on the status,

  12. No my status has not been updated online. It doesn't seem to be good though. From research, many people got their denial letters via certified mail. I guess i'll find out tomorrow. In the meantime, i'll be working on a crisis plan just in case it's not good news.

    Anyhow, Enjoy your new status!

Please update once you received the package. I don't have any idea either.

Good luck with your interview on Monday.

  13. JuliaMoon

I am little disappointed because My I-485 status still shows "testing and Interview" . I have to wait for few days to get the approval notice and

Your's is approved on same day .

Yes, IO asked me I-130 approval notice .

    Thanks for the info.

    Hi,

I went for the interview yesterday and end up with the same situation as yours. Have you got your AOS approved? Please let me know...Thanks.

There was one item that they didn't receive was the I 130 approval receipt. The I 130 was approved at CSC after I filed the AOS, I sent the copy of approval notices to NBS as a supplemental but still the National visa center didn't receive it from CSC.

The officer said that she will check online and will approve the case today. She took the I 94 off from the passport and gave us a letter saying "Awaiting for I 130 receipt at NVC".

    Hoping to get approved sooner.

  14. Congrats Pamala and thanks for sharing you experience.

Good luck to you tomorrow. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed

    Yaadie,

The interview went well and the officer was very sweet and polite. There was one item that they didn't receive was the I 130 approval receipt. Good Luck with your interview and keep me posted.

  15. Gosh, I go away for 2 days and there's good news everywhere. Congratulations to all who received their EADs and GCs this week.

I see some of you are worried about not getting a tracking number for your EAD cards. Ensure that you are checking the USCIS website. Often times the tracking number will not appear in the text/email notifications that you receive.

ashok_ajsj I feel like i'm more excited about your interview than I am about mine lol. Anyhow, good luck to ya on Thursday. I'm looking forward to hearing about your interview.

Hoping for the best Yaadie. I will keep you posted. Take care.
