So does my wife petitioner her or do I?

Good evening fellow VISA Journey friend. I have a question as I am completely lost on this. I brought my wife here on a Fiancee Visa and we married and she now has her green card. She has been here for about two years now. Her 11 year old daughter has been in Colombia under the custody of her husband and she now wants to bring her to the US and the husband has agreed. We can't wait to get her here.
What forms do I need to fill out to get the process started? Do I just file out the I-130 to start the process? Any info you can give me would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Robert

Four months after our interview and countless messages of "Administrative Processing" my Fiancee's VISA has been approved. YUPIIIIIIIIII ! She took her passport in today to have it messengered back to Bogota Colombia for attaching the VISA pages. This was a LONG battle. It took two years. I wrote letters to congressmen and the President about this. I don't know if it helped, but something finally shook loose. Our immigration process is so broken. It not only needs reform it needs more bodies working it. The are just so many people to want to come to the land of opportunity:).
Good luck to all on your petitions and be patient as it will come....

Thank you very much for you advice. We will wait a little longer and see what happens. The U.S. has a broken immigration system. That is the main problem.

Wow. So it would be better to wait then just to get married and start over again? I have been in this process for over two years now. She is even more frustrated then I am. Of course we will wait for each other forever because we love each other very much.

We had the same issue in Bogota Colombia. We have been waiting for three months now for a decision. The administrative processing is all the website shows. I am really close to giving up on this and we just get married and I try it that way. This has been very very frustrating!!!!!

Ok we had our interview on April 26th of this year at the American Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. At that time the agent stated that he could not grant the VISA because they needed to perform some additional administrative processing. I have written the embassy various emails and they state that the case is in administrative processing in Washington DC and they have to make the final decision. It is going on three months now. I have written my congressman Marco Rubio and got the same response when they investigated the issue. We feel lost because we don't know where our application is in Washington. Who do we call to try and push the status? I recently wrote a nice letter to the President, but I don't know if that will help. In August it will be two years since we started the VISA Fiancee process.
Has anyone else had this problem? Where is Washington do these cases go? Any suggestions?
Any info would be appreciated.

Ok so my fiancee and I are thoroughly confused now. We went to the interview on 26 April 2014 and everything seemed to go fine. They ask my fiancee a few questions about our relationship and then they proceeded to ask her questions about her brothers and sister, nothing out of the ordinary. My fiancée talked to them for about thirty minutes and they called us back up to the window. The lady stated that they couldn't give us the VISA at the moment and they need to perform some additional processing. They told us this internal processing could take a few weeks to three months.
Ok so what gives? Since they gave my Fiancee back the passport can we assume that they are just going to say no and are just going through the motions? I would have thought that if they were just doing some additional processing they would have kept her passport. Has anyone else had this happen to them? We are so worried that they are going to deny it and don't understand why. We have had a relationship for two years.
Any info would help.
Thanks,
Robert and Adriana.

We just found today that our package was sent out today from the National Visa Center to the American Embassy in Bogota Colombia. How long until we get our notice from the embassy for the interview? Does it come via email? How long does the package take to get to the embassy.
We are anxious to get our timeline:)
Any info would be appreciated!!

Thank you! I will try that.

I don't have the BOG number though. That is the thing I haven't received it.

Ok, so my Colombian Fiancee and I were approved on our I-129F VISA on January 22, 2014. My question is how long until we receive notification from the US Embassy in Colombia for interview package. It is going on four weeks now and we haven't heard anything. What is the process now? We get a BOG****** number to schedule our own interview or is this done by the consulate. We are so confused because things keep changing.
Any help would be appreciated.

Got a request for evidence today, so I guess the VISA is moving forward. They just needed a document showing I was divorced from my ex wife. Hopefully this will be it.

Start a collection? Were you approved finally? How long did it take?

I have been getting this from the Vermont Service Center for the last 7 months, since May 2013. Every time I put in a service request I get the same response.
Has your case changed at all?

We submitted a K-1 Fiancee VISA on Oct 29, 2012. My girlfriend is in Medellin Colombia and it has now been almost 15 months and no word yet. The Vermont Service Center has been telling us that the process is on hold pending security checks. This has been the case since May 2013, SEVEN MONTHS. Has anyone else gone through this and can I do anything about this? I just want to know why it is taking so long and what the issue is. We have postponed our wedding a number of times due to this. We just don't know what else to do. To top it all off I can't even get to the second level, i.e. Immigration Officer, anymore. The people I talk to will not connect me and they are stating they (immigration officers) are too busy to talk to anyone and we have to deal with them.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Our government really is unfair sometimes!

Are you still waiting for security checks? I am in the same boat with my fiancee. I am going on one year now waiting on the petition to be approved.

Just curious. When did you apply. I applied back in October 2012 and we are still waiting. They say they are performing the security checks, been six months in that.
Thanks,
Bob

No. We are still waiting for the petition to be approved. I received my receipt last year and the receipt date is Oct 29,2013. We are still waiting on that approval. That is the NSC Vermont has put on hold pending the security checks. I call weekly and they tell me the same thing.
Bob
He/she is right. My fiancés was stuck there about that long too. It is so stressful and upsetting, but you just have to wait it out. They won't issue any visas for her to come here, but you can always go there. I met my fiancé in turkey while this whole thing processed. I know it's not easy but stay strong because it will be worth it. After that everything goes pretty quickly. As long as she has no criminal history everything will be fine. They are running checks on you and her. It shouldn't be too much longer. Do you guys have an attorney ?
No we do not have an attorney. We used an immigration service in Miami, but they are not lawyers. She just keeps telling me I have to wait it out.

No it has been approved.

My Fiancee and I got our receipt number back on Oct 29th 2012. It is now going on 11 months since we submitted and no approval yet. I have spoken the USCIS and gone up to second level on numerous occassions and I am told the application is on a processing hold pending security checks. Does anyone know what this is and what I can do to shake things loose or find out that status? The application has been in security checks since May 2013. This is ridiculous and our wedding dates have come and gone. I tried to get her here on a tourist visa so we can see each other, but they denied it this morning. We are so distraught and frustrated. Can anyone offer some advice?
Thanks,
Bob

My wife has per residency and we want to bring her daughter from Colombia. I am filling out the I-130, but does she request her daughter or do I since we are married and I am a US citizen?
I am trying to find info on this and can't find it anywhere.
