My husband got his drivers license in the state of Texas using his visa in his passport.

yes he did sorry i never remember to update yeah he's been working since he got here he got his Authorization to Work a while back in september

i researched online dmv of mass and it says yes he's now preparing to take the test, it just sucks because the DMV where i live is packed with bored old woman and they are always giving you the runaround things but we will see i have my proof i printed out everything from the website lol .. so disappointed i didn't know about this before

So my husband is still waiting for his Green card apparently 9-12 month wait for any one that got the Form I-485 waiver, its very aggravating many things he can't do with a green card, but i have been hearing it is possible for him to get a license Is this true we live in Massachusetts can someone please inform me if this is possible thanks.

i am aware that we can travel without the green card but id still like to know how come such a long wait i rather have an interview and get it over with than this looong wait there are a few things we are limited to because he's not a resident

Received a letter back in september informing us about a potential interview waiver case does the USCIS really take the entire 6 months to get back to us? extremely aggravating since we would like to travel soon

has anyone been through this process of waiting 6 months what are we waiting for at this point? his residency?

I haven't really been on the site lately i know shame on me well after my husband moved here with me i have been a very busy wife getting used to being married and just showing him how everything works in the US is a little bit ... ummm or should i say is VERY stressful.. lol but i love every second of it i am so great full we are together and for all our blessings ..

My sister in law received an email saying:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing
of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner
and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

how long does this take ???

tell him to b patient it can take up to 8 weeks.. i hope he gets it quick but it can take a while when i called DOMEX they told me not to be surprised if it took a while usually its 4 days after the day of issue but i have heard of people that have had to wait weeks.

My interview was on the 25th and I'm still waiting ..... I just wanna go home already. When we went to pay at domex we asked the cashier what was faster she said it didn't matter it would take the same time about a week I guess that because of the holiday it would take a little longer its been 8 business days already -____-

Finally is almost here just a few weeks away , just have a question so i have a list of everything i need, but i keep seeing different forms on some peoples interview statements can some one please give me a list of everything i need to take with me to the interview. I rather have more than i need than to be missing things and that is my biggest fear .....

You tell them you'd like to kno if ur interview date is available,They will ask u typical questions like the case number which is ur SDO# ur name, beneficiaries name and DOB. They will have the date trust me i found out my interview date the same day it was assigned i trust them more. I didn't bother in emailing the embassy or calling them once.

What do I tell them .. can I ask where my case is and my interview date ?

I'm pretty sure only the embassy knows the dates

I understand that if he has a waiver signed by a doctor then is ok, but you will need to bring this waiver to the interview.

Wow, Im so Sorry u have to go through this. But be great full she broke it off now rather than going through the entire process and then she decides she aint with it. Honestly long distance relationships are really hard and if she really loved you she would stick by you no matter how long it took. Stay strong God bless

I have heard of this actually a friend told me they do this in haiti she contacted an agency paid some kind of fee and they called her like 2 weeks later because a couple was unprepared and so they gave her their spot. But honestly i wouldn't even bother u never know if people try and F u over .. specially with all the Buscones lol be careful if it sounds to good to be true it probably is December is right around the corner Calma y paciencia Best wishes

Thank you for the reply. Yes many people are saying they haven't received a interview date yet. Lets hope its soon.

Also someone told my fiance (beneficiary) that he can't open his packet. Is this true ? It was just a friend of his so I told him it wasn't true, but just to be sure lol.

Well today is the 2nd/3rd day since it was shipped. I'll call today and see if I get lucky

I have never heard that, maybe he's confused or talking about some other type of case.. no se lol but he has to open it because that packet is going to contain a lot of things you guys will need for the interview... and also ur interview date will b there too

I have no idea about the affidavit but I'm pretty sure you will have instructions when u receive your packet i wouldn't even stress it yet, they prob won't even ask u for any of that till febuary since they start asking for all that after you have your interview date that is when they send out your paquet and ur beneficiaries packet... my case got received by the NVC in about 10 days after that i started calling and they gave me the case number the second day of it being there so id say its pretty quick after they receive your case then after that your case is sent out to DR in a few days. Its really backed up though my case got approved in september and i still don't have a interview date.
