Thanks everyone! And Derwood I will update my signature dates as soon as I get on my computer! I usually use VJ on my mobile
And yeah, please do be very careful guys. I did update my address with them at the beginning of December and yet they STILL sent it to my old address. I even had USPS forwarding set up as well. They forwarded all my other mail, but not the card
Thankfully I still had the mail key to the other place, otherwise I wouldn't have got it.
When you guys do get a message about them sending the card out, make sure to tell your local post office of your last address to keep an eye out for it. It will be in a priority mail envelope. Make sure if they see it to hold on to it for you as there is a good chance it will go to the old address!!
The funniest thing is, on the welcome notice, it has the address, and then like further down it has "please contact us if that info is not correct"
So I call them and this guy tells me he can't even see my address on file?? He was telling me to go make an infopass :/

Congratulations on your late Christmas present. What was you NPWI? It appears from your other dates that you are a very lucky couple and it also speaks to the arbitrary nature of our "friends" in the NPWI section of USCIS. Again congratulations and maybe there will be an avalanche pending...
I'm not sure of the exact date as I have the letter put away, but I beleive I got my NPWI back in early August!
And yeah I think we are going to see a ton of approvals come through since Christmas and New Years has passed ^^
Does your case history on USCIS website mention anything about your address change?
Hm is that something I have to be logged into my account to see? I haven't used the website much since they updated it. And they locked me out of my account and I can't get back in it x_x; sent them an email and they never unlocked it sadly

I am pretty hesitant about posting this here, as I don't want to upset anyone who has been waiting longer than me
But back in early December me and my husband moved house, so I filed the change of address with them and got a letter back saying they acknowledge it, etc. I kinda laughed to myself and put the letter away thinking whatever it's going to be like another 3 months wait anyways
I had actually given up checking my case status because it said the same thing since I applied "your fingerprint fee is received"
One day I was getting really ticked off so I decided to check my case status and lo and behold it said "your welcome notice has been mailed"
I was like, what on earth? Must be some kind of error, I was so used to waiting at this point that i thought it was just an error on there side and they had updated my case instead of someone else's
But no, I did indeed get a welcome notice which said I would receive me GC on March 1st
Thought nothing of it, thinking it was just something you got halfway between being a waiver case or something
Decided to check my case status the next day, and now it shows a USPS tracking number, checked that and it said it was out for delivery
They delivered it to my old house, despite me telling USPS and USCIS that my address had changed a month ago (so if you have/are going to change address, please keep this in mind)
So we drove to our old house, lo and behold there is a USPS priority mail envelope, and inside is a leaflet with some info and stuck to a letter inside also was my GC. I almost just about fainted in shock.
I am of course really happy! But I would have been a lot happier if you guys who had been waiting way longer than me, had gotten yours first. I really wish they would tell us why they seem to work on cases in random orders. The only thing I can think of was my case was laying collecting dust somewhere and when I changed my adfress they had to pull it out to update it and then just went ahead and approved it
Because honestly, our cases should all be easy approvals
Anywho I really hope I didn't upset anyone by posting this. It wasn't my intention to rub it on or brag, on the contrary I am quite upset that they are working on things in a weird order. I really wish those of you who had been waiting a long time could have gotten it yesterday instead of me. But I just wanted to update you guys about this and let you know.

Yep Natonstan, my medical will expire this month too.....
I remember I did my medical in January and then my interview was Feb 19th
I wish they would give us some TRANSPARENCY. why the people with genuine cases have to wait while they interview the red flagged people first baffles me.
Got to have the patience of a saint to go through this process...
all the people on the phones can tell us is "oh make a service request" which from what we have seen doesn't really ....tell us anything....
what if we all did an info pass? or would be just get told the same old same old "we're working on it I promise!!!!!!! (We just let 10000 people cut ahead of you in line tho soz)"

Do you know if it is section 8 or section 42?
I know that section 42 housing would be alright. someone may be above poverty level but still eligible to live there, however as above posters said, there is still a limit

With all the stress in this process ranting is therapeutic.
We all suffer from making our file look too good for our K-1 visa...My wife met a woman at her first visit to the US Embassy in Tashkent who knew her petitioner fiancé for 3 months. He is 8 years younger than she is and I can tell you from day one they are not destined for their 4th anniversary (after citizenship). They do not share finances and barely talk to each other. The age difference and short relationship flagged them for an interview. They got their GC in July. Their AOS file was received by USCIS 2 weeks after ours, in mid April. My wife cannot talk to her anymore....it's too painful.
So like I said before, the process makes us rivals with others...not good...
Ouch I can see how that is painful to hear about
Though I suppose if you think of it this way, we don't have to have interviews so we don't have to try and explain ourselves to other people, or try to prove anything. We know our relationships are genuine. So the bright side is at least they have some faith in us!

Heh I know right?
This is what upsets me the most. We paid the $330 for our K1, spent ages putting together paperwork, waited for the K1s to process, pay for the medical, pay for the visa to be issued, then pay another $1070 and this is where we all are at the moment. Stuck in limbo land.
were all here legally, and yet, the people who come here illegally or whatever just get interviews after like 2 months and get their cards, while we who did everything right seem to get punished for it. It's so upsetting!!
And the fact we have to do our medicals again, cmon for real? I bet all those people that are here illegal don't have to have one, and those people even get benefits and stuff yet if one of us fell on hard times we would get in tons of trouble for it
I get people here ask me, "oh I always thought once you got married you became a citizen automatically?"
Maybe that used to be the case, but it can't be anymore, because you get all those bloody people who come over here and trick some poor USC into marriage or they come here and as soon as they get their GC they lie and turns out they just used the USC. It's people like THAT who are the reason we all get dragged through all of this
All of us who genuinely love our partners have to wait while they sift through all the BS lies and fraud applications while we have to wait
Sorry for ranting but I just don't think it's fair that us honest and genuine people have to wait while the people who just come here for all the wrong reasons get a ticket to the front... :/

Been a long time, VJ
got a job (since I have my EAD) and me and my husband now have our own house, no more renting, had to update my address with them so who knows, maybe that will poke them to remember my case, lol
Still on acceptance, did get a letter from USCIS acknowledging my address change so that's good
Thankfully if they do have me do a new medical, then I only live 45 miles from the capital of my state so surely there's a civil surgeon there xD

I stepped away from the forums for a while because I decided to try not to worry so much about the waiting, in a way I was kinda relieved to get the waiver letter because now I know why it's taking so long,
but at the end of the day, at least this isn't as painful as the K1 process. We get to be with our husband and wives and this whole thing goes from being a constant worry (like it is with the K1) to just a nagging feeling in the back of our minds
Though, I do feel in a way like we are all being delayed even though we did the right thing. Applied for the K1, waited patiently, came over correctly and did our AOS papers on time
Whereas you get people who come over on the VWP, and overstay on purpose to run around the K1 requirement to get married and then file AOS, and they go and get AOS approved faster than we do!! While all of us who did the K1 get this letter and have to wait an additional 6 or so months.
I'm glad we did this the right way, but I'm not gonna lie, makes me kinda mad that the people who took a "shortcut" get there first...I don't mean to offend anybody but surely I can't be alone in thinking this :S
-
I've been training my puppy to distract myself from waiting xD
It's a good distraction! No time to worry
I wonder if I will get my GC before my birthday next year (February) that would be nice!!
-
I'm gonna be honest here like. I find it pretty annoying that those of us who got the potential interview waiver letter are going to have to wait another 6~ months just because we applied on the K1. :/ is that not the visa specifically for marrying our fiancés to in turn apply for our residence?

I am back ... It has been a hectic 2 weeks in Peru.
We got back yesterday to find a LOVELY Possible Interview Waiver letter.... yeeei
So 6 more months....
You too? ;_; well hope you had fun in Peru?
-
Just letting you guys know that your status and last updated date doesn't change when you get the waiver letter, it just shows up in your mailbox xD so for those who haven't heard anything in a while, keep an eye on your mail ^^
-
Joining the club. Got the letter today xD
-
Actually just got the potential interview waiver letter XD
while I'm happy that we might not need an interview, kinda sucks that it can take up to six months :/ but I'm glad that progress is being made
-
I'm really considering calling them my case hadn't moved since biometrics letter was sent out
-
Im not surprised bc all K1/K3 visa holders get a waiver letter. In my case im not from that category so im still waiting for interview
Actually not all of us do, lots of K1 visa holders get interviews still. We don't know what determines someone getting a waiver letter or not, so it seems to be just random for now~

Wow I had such a great day today!!
Husband got a raise at work that has pushed us WAY above the poverty limit and I made up with a friend so were good now!
CMON USCIS GIVE ME A THIRD THING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT <3 get me to testing and interview please!
-
I know. And that sucks. ???
I guess we all filed at a bad time ??
-
You are not alone. I'm stuck at Acceptace stage too. ???
Hmm but we both have our EADs! That's unusual since a lot of people move to T&I before EAD. Maybe they are gonna send us the waiver letter ;_;
-
Heh, I check my email and there's one from USCIS so I get all excited
Then I realise it's just cuz I changed my password
Still waiting for testing and interview or at least a waiver letter ;_; feels like it's been stuck so long that it will never move forward
-
No updates for I-485 xD
thankfully our new puppy is very distracting !!
-
No updates here. I've actually been distracting myself though my husband and I got a dog so we have been busy training him, kept my mind off worrying! Was my doctors idea to ease anxiety
-
Happy to have my EAD but
Wishing to move to testing and interview *_*
Don't want waiver letter but I bet I will get it, being K1 xD

I think you all should definately ask for tier 2s to get some answers
I never got to find out where my case was sent, according to USPS the card itself was shipped from Kentucky? I don't know whether that's just the general place they get made or something, or if it was where my case was
The top of the envelope did say Lees Summit, but still the USPS tracking says it came from Kentucky...
I live in utah for reference, so idk whether my location affects where it was sent/picked in a weird order or anything like that
