Case ready at UK Embassy, husband medical exam on 10 Jan, interview 24 Jan and I will be going with him. So happy! Wish us luck!!

Anyone know how long it takes Paris to set up interviews? Yes I've seen the link about the general Paris info, but they have our case from NVC and CEAC says "ready" but I cannot get a response from anyone in the Immigration/visa dept! Time is ticking..... I've been sending one email a day..... when the CEAC said "in transit" they said they would respond when they get the files.... Since it changed to "ready" last Wed they haven't responded or contacted us. Oh our situation CR-1 expedited USCIS and NVC.

It took 12 calendar days to get our interview date after case complete. I got the info by calling NVC.

I don't know how your expedites might affect the process for you, though. I hope you have news soon!

Hi everyone! A number of questions--again

1. To show evidence of a bonafide relationship, will the consulate require photocopies and/or extra copies of secondary evidences such as (a) MONEY TRANSFER/REMITTANCE RECEIPTS and (b) FAMILY PHOTOS?
2. Will print outs, of cut-and-pasted/ screen shots of skype, viber, tango, and emails, do? Does it have to be certified or notarized by a lawyer or something?

Got a list here (link below) but it doesn't say if copies are needed or having the originals alone would do.

If you want something back, be sure to bring a second copy. They will want to see the original and keep a copy. If you don't need something back, don't worry about providing a second copy.

For secondary evidence (screenshots, logs, emails) there's no point in certifying / notarizing. I'm not sure it's even possible.

Take some time to talk to people who have interviewed at your embassy. It's different everywhere, and embassy-specific info is invaluable.

Oh my God! Everyone! I'm approved! I checked the USCIS website just now! Oh my God! And I had to keep on checking and clicking it just to make sure if its true and the website isn't just malfunctioning. Hahaha, anyone here July filers who got approved already! Check your statuses everyone! All praises to the Most High! Thank you everyone for the prayers! Now we're heading to the next step. I'm not sure what the next step is yet but we'll get to that. Hahahaha!

Don't loose hope everyone! I really believe that what I did last night was the reason why this miracle happened. For the first time in my life I knelt down and prayed and talked to Jesus Christ my Savior with all my heart. I had complete faith that everything will happen according to His plan. You might want to do this, believe and give thanks for an answered prayer even if it hasn't come yet. God is good all the time!

Just a summary, our petition was accepted July 25, transfered to Texas Nov.22, and approved today December 3. I think our case was expedited because I'm a Filipina and that benefciaries form Phils. are said to receive a benefit of expedit as a relief for the recent Typhoon Haiyan. Yes it is indeed fast! My husband and I are truly grateful for this wonderful time in our life!

Yes, the Paris embassy instructions look like they were written for the K-1. For Ir-1/Cr-1 follow the NVC guide here. All docs go to NVC and you don't interact with the embassy until your interview.

For me, I got a checklist for leaving a field blank on the I-864EZ. In part 3, line 8 it asks for your mailing address. Then line 9 asks for your place of residence if different than your mailing address. Since it was the same I left it blank. So I had to redo the form and resubmit it. This time I just put the same address in that field so that it wasn't blank. So frustrated that it will set us back another month!

For my I-864EZ, I wrote my mailing address again in line 9 just to be safe.

It's awful that you got a checklist for that. The instructions should be better than they are.

I received the same email. When I called the NVC, they said that the letter was generated automatically when my I-864 was accepted and that I should ignore it.

Interview date 10/12/2013

Just got off the phone with the NVC -- we have an interview date!!!! Dec 13 10am !!!!

I had called earlier around 9 am and got connected to a grumpy robotic lady who was very evasive with my questions. She just kept repeating that my interview has not been scheduled and just sounded impatient and would not elaborate on her answers.

As I was totally frustrated with her attitude and general unwillingness to help, I decided to call again about an hour later. This time, I got connected with Kelley who I'm quite sure I had talked to before and who was always very patient and understanding. Before I could finish my question, she told me we were just scheduled for an interview!! Yayyyyy!!

So the moral of this story is to try calling NVC again and again (as Saylin had suggested before) until you get a satisfactory reply !!

We woke up with the "approved, post-action activity" email this morning.

Again for clarity we are filing from abroad, both of us from France.

We tried to expedite last week (bad parent situation, but not us personally). They said it was not reason for expedite but a tier 2 said just turn the proof in so they could see what exactly are the details. We got the confirmation that they recieved the documents but never heard back. We sent the documents to Lees Summit, but our NOA1 was addressed Overland Park.

I'm getting a bit confused which is not saying much

Let me ask this, under my stated circumstances, what is the best route for us to be together and have the baby in France where she has insurance without my having to apply for residency there? I (US Citizen) want to be in France with her from March on wards. Baby is due May 30th. I'd like to try to get 3 of us back to the US by Nov 2014 with her in the US by then if at all possible. She doesn't have to have a green card by then, I just want for us to be able to return by that time. I don't want to apply for French residency if I don't have to, we want to live in the US after the baby is due.

Options as I see it:

Marry in US then go to France and apply for a CR1 visa? Negative is the time frame, we won't be back by November.

Go to France and apply for K1? How could I stay in france for more than 90/180 rule? I can't imagine being away for 90 days...

Guess other option is to marry here and have her stay here but that would be cost prohibitive because of her not having US insurance.

If you want to stay in France for more than 3 months legally, you'll need a visa of some kind. The only other way I see for you to be together throughout the pregnancy and to have the baby in France (without one of you being out of status) is to spend Dec - Feb in a country outside of the US or EU.

It really should be easier. I hope someone else has ideas that will help!

Your plan sounds like it will work, but you should look into petitioning from France if you will have residence there after December. It could shave several months off of your wait.

To petition as a French resident, you'll need your titre de sejour. If you don't already have one, consider applying for a spousal visa at the French Consulate before heading back to France in December. You can't get the titre de sejour on a tourist visa / visa waiver. (It would also keep you regular in France if you plan to stay more than three months.)

For the AOS, you'll need to show 25k in income on your most recent IRS transcripts. If you can meet that requirement, start looking for a co-sponsor.

When your child is born, you'll need to schedule an appointment at the US Embassy / Consulate to apply for a consular report of birth abroad, passport and SSN. The baby should enter the US on an American passport.

Do you plan to marry in both countries just for the sake of ceremony? It's not something you have to do.

Our daughter was born in France two years ago, and it's been an unbelievably crazy, magical ride. Having your baby there is a good choice. Good luck!
