I'm bringing my three step kids to the US in March a week before their VISA's expire. They had their medical exam in August 2014. Can they still leave the Philippines if it has been over six months since their medical?

Since they will be traveling with their mom on immigrant visas, they don't need the DSWD clearance anymore.
Thank you very much.

My kids received their IR-2's and will be traveling with their mother to the US in March. My wife's marriage is annulled from her ex-husband. She has raised the kids without help or support from the father since they were young. One of my step children is 16 years old, Will she need a Dept of Social Welfare and Development travel clearance when she attends her CFO class?

Three of my kids will have their physicals at SLMC in September. The oldest is 21 and hasn't aged out because I filed her paperwork before she turned 21. Since my wife and I are in the states they will have a chaperone for their visits to Manila but I'm not sure who that will be. My 2 kids under 18 will need to have a companion with special POA or authorization letter from petitioner (me) to accompany them and be able to sign and have knowledge of the medical history. I have several questions:
1) Can I use my 21 yo daughter, who is also having her physical at the same time, as their companion and give her power of attorney?
2) Since my wife is their mother and I'm a step dad, and petitioner, should the POA be from both of us?
3) Will just a standard POA form, found on Phils Embassy website, be ok to fill out and have notarized?
I was going to put on the POA that my wife and I authorize my daughter as their companion on all travel pertaining to their visa process and for the visit to SLMC and their interview at the US Embassy.
Any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

I have the same deal. I'm rolling the dice with just the EZ form and hope it works.

What was the response?

The I-864A is for joint sponsor.

I'm going to put each set of AOS, ACCO clipped separately, in one envelope and the IV packets in another envelope and then put them both in a shipping envelope. That way their cases stay together but the packets are separate. Thanx for the advice.

I'm ready to mail my 3 kids AOS and IV docs to the NVC. There are 3 separate cases. Is it ok to mail the AOS and IV packet documents together, in the same envelope, as long as the 3 cases are kept separate?
Thanx

I'm not sure if you could still use follow to join. As a USC you can petition your step daughter http://www.visajourney.com/content/child Check it out.

Hi everyone,
I received an RFE for 3 seperate petitions for my kids. The same thing on each one to submitt a marriage certificate with the registrars name and date of registration. Each came with an envelope to mail back seperately. I copied the RFE for my records and I'm just sticking the copy of the certificate and the govt. paperwork into the enclosed envelopes. I was planning on mailing each with a mail confirmation label. Should I send it certified mail or add anything to the paperwork? I'm mailing it in the morning and I'd appreciate and suggestions.

Last Monday I received a text and email that we received an RFE on each of my 3 petitions. The hard copy arrived today and they want a copy of my original marriage certificate with date of registration and the signature of the registrar, I submitted a copy of the certificate with my petitions. The deal is that all the information they requested is on the marriage license. Tomorrow I'm sending them the copy of the long legal paper size that has both the license, certificate and time stamp of when the marriage was entered into public record.
That was not an issue with my wife's AOS so I didn't think to include the license in the kid's petition. At least the USCIS finally spread the paperwork around and there is activity on our 3 petitions.

Hey welcome to our group ! Now it seems as if your case is taking awhile as by now you should be at the NVC stage. I suggest you give USCIS about 1-2 weeks then call to find out the updated status.. Now, sometimes the information on the USCIS website is not really relevant as my case was completed in almost 3 months and most other cases here. Since as your child entered the system before he reaches 21 you don't have to worry as for immigration purposes he/she is still under 21. Have a good day
Thanks, I've been on VJ for several years under a different name while I did my wife's K-1. That went through well except one RFE at her interview.
it does seem wierd that you havent at least gotten to NVC yet? were there any RFE's? perhaps they have slowed down? ive seen ppl take 9 mnths and then others 15 mnths.. if you have already called, i dont know much else that you can do? sorry, maybe someone else will have an alternative..
I'm hopeing that by calling perhaps they might take a look at it sooner. I have no RFE's but I filed 3 petitions at one time and maybe that could slow it down. I also saw the other day that they are moving I-130's around and I hope it speeds things up. My wife is in the Philippines now and the kids are excited to come here.

I am a USC married to a filipina since 2010. I filed I-130's for three of my stepchildren in March 2013. They were all under 18 when we married and one turns 21 in November 2013. I noticed last week on the USCIS website that the type of VISA I petitioned for is being handled in Vermont and they are working on OCT 2012 cases now. I thought I would be at the NVC level by now and perhaps have their VISA's by christmas. I called USCIS and spoke to someone who told me to just wait for notification. He also told me I need not worry about my 20 year old ageing out. Looking at a few other timelines here on VJ it appears to me that my case is takeing a while longer then others. Am I just paranoid or am I correct? Does anyone have any tips on how to speed up my process?
Thanks,
Don

They had their medical in September. The VISA expires six months after their medical. Thank you for sending me in the right direction to find my answer.
