  1. So I have just received an update from Ombudsman regarding my inquiry. Overall it took about 2 weeks for them to respond. And apparently Ombudsman has nothing to do with my approval

    Dear Sir/Madam,

The Ombudsman’s Office has determined that USCIS recently issued a decision regarding the application or petition referenced in your request for assistance. Your I-485 was approved 3-20-2015. If you do not receive the decision notice within 15 days, please contact USCIS at 1-800-375-5283.

Since USCIS has issued a decision, our office will be closing this inquiry.

Thank you for giving the Ombudsman’s Office the opportunity to assist you.

    Sincerely,

  2. I got the same status for my EAD renewal today, its been terminated. Also, i got my welcome notice yesterday in the mail, but my status online didn't change at all, its still "card was ordered to be produced". Hope all of the remaining March filers will get their GCs soon.

Well looks like our cards hasn't been mailed out yet. Btw we have so many similar dates: got married on 2/14, approved 3/20, case terminated 3/25

This kinda proves the point that USCIS works on cases in packs

  3. Hey guys, so here is an answer to another mystery we have been trying to solve, it's regarding the EAD renewal. I had my GC approved last week and today I received an updated regarding my EAD renewal application:

Case Terminated Benefit Received By Other Means

On March 25, 2015, we terminated your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization , Receipt Number MSC*********, because the applicant or petitioner received a status or benefit through other means. We will send you a termination notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

  4. Did you guys celebrate and paint the town red (or green)?

Oh boy, that was a big celebration also considering the fact that we did everything on our own, using this forum and saved a couple of thousand $$$ on lawyers. Hubby already booked a trip to DR to celebrate :dancing::dancing:

But seriously, that was such a relief for all of us, I really hope you are the next one, nlhernan, you are right on the schedule here!!!

  5. Поздравляю!!!! Wow it's about time!!....Time to crack the bottle and say "Урa!!!"

Do me a favor, stay angry, we need to help fix this mess...

Spasibo bolshoe, we are definitely getting a drink after work tonight with hubby...As the say, a stormy weather can sometimes be an omen for a success :)

I can't believe it's snowing so hard today on the FIRST day of spring... You see, I have another reason to be angry today :ot:

  6. Congrats again, but don't be leaving this thread, we NEED you here!!!

I need a drink, but can't have one at this time in the morning. I am shocked, OMBUDSMAN IS THE WAY TO GO!! So bloody happy for everyone!!!

Thank you, Shell. This forum really helped me to go through and not to go worried sick about waiting for so long. I am not leaving it at least not until you guys receive you Green cards

  7. Update on my husband's case... RFE was mailed.

My guess is we need a new medical. Ugh... not what I was hoping for when I saw an email from USCIS.

Oh wow, they must be kidding. You guys have been waiting for a year and 2 weeks already, and now they ask for new medical? this is just insane!!!

well, at least you know that after you send it out, you'll get a GC in a few weeks

  8. I went to do my biometrics for my EAD renewal on Monday March 16 and I checked my status yesterday in the evening and renewal EAD is in Car d Production and SURPRISINGLY my GC too!!! So am now expecting my renewed EAD and GC though GC is all I need now.

Its been 1year 6days to my GC..my NOA for AOS was March 12, 2014

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Finally the wait is over for you!!! My NOA is just a few days later that your NOA so I am anxiously waiting now and pleased that more March fillers are getting approved.

Have you ever filled any SR?

  9. I guess my attorney was wrong again...'magine that.

It just seems inconceivable that you can go directly to a 10 yr GC without an interview...just thinking out loud...

Don't blame your attorney just yet, nobody knows what's in the mind of people working in USCIS, plus mistakes can also happen. Ohh a 10 year old GC would be such a good present right now.

Btw, a friend of mine also arrived on K1 visa, received NPIW letter but then her Green card arrived a week after she got the letter. No reasonable explanation for that, husband not in the military. This proves your point, nlhernan, that there is one big mess in USCIS and it's so unfair

  10. I've tried requesting an interview through tier 1&2

Both told me I wasn't able to do that

That if we recieved I letter stating our case was a potential interview waiver then we didn't need one

Of course not, what we were thinking? hahahha :devil:

It's funny to think how almost happy I was when I got this NPIW letter in June, now it's like "get me outta here, please, Uncle USCIS"

  11. Thats what I am wondering, has anyone actually tried? Ive asked them to let us know if they get one, hopefully they will. Very curious, can you imagine it if we were able to do this all along? Not seen anyone else writing about it though.

Hmm then they will have to transfer our cases from current local office to the office near our house, which can take time as well; e.g I will either have to go to Lawrence, MA where my case is or wait till it arrives to NYC.

Who can we ask about this? Tier1?

  12. I had raise an SR a week before my AOS anniversary and i got an email from USCIS, Santa Ana, CA giving the standard reply

"Your petition/application is still pending consideration. We regret that we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will complete the review of your petition/application."

Ok, so at least your case is in the local office. An infopass appointment may be a good option too.
