  1. Hello everyone,

First time posting on this forum. It's a great site with a lot of helpful info.

I have a question about my case status:

Initially our case was being processed in Vermont. A few days later we got this update.

we transferred your CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

    Today, we got this update:

The CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

I am wondering. Is it usual to transfer a case from a local office to another processing center? It seems unusual to me. I have heard of cases being transferred to local offices but never heard of a case being transferred from a local office to another one that is out of state (if that is indeed the case here).

For sure, when I read that the case was transferred to a local office, I thought it meant that we were definitely having an interview. Now we get an email saying that the case has been transferred once again. I don't know if this means it was transferred to another office out of state or what

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I don't know what to think. Is this a good or bad thing you think?
