  1. yes you do! Once you enlist in any branch of the military  and you provide your foreign education credential it would be evaluated by the Colorado State  University  International programs and that would be added to your military records by your recruiter. You can request a copy of the evaluation from your recruiter if you prefer but regardless it's going to be part of your official military record so you can access it anytime.

  2. Can I join Army on CPR if I am divorced?

Had 97 on ASVAB waiting to lose some weight and divorce is imminent. Wanted to go to Airforce but they asked for 10 year card, not sure about ARMY. Kindly please share if anyone divorced while on CPR can join ARMY reserve?

I am not %100 sure but I don't see why not you can't join if you have your divorce decree. you should be fine as long as your CPR hasn't expired yet.

  3. Hello friends,

Before I even ask my question I am %99.9 percent about the answer but its always good to get clarifications from other people to be on a safer side.

Okay here is my question, I came to the U.S on K1 and joined the military a few months after I got my GC, so the military currently gave me a packet to file for my citizenship right away and had me do a walk in for my biometrics without an appointment letter upon showing my military ID But what happened was that when I went in to take my biometrics I had to meet with someone at the USCIS office who I believe could be a supervisor and he actually said I could do my biometrics to apply for my Citizenship but then I still had to remove conditions on my GC after 2 years since it was still a conditional card even if am in the military which of course doesn't make sense.... Because am already filing for citizenship so why do I need to remove conditions again when am skipping that aspect because of my service.

In other words am going to gain my citizenship based on military so why do I have to remove conditions again whiles I would probably be a citizen already by then. this absolutely doesn't make no sense when he even said it but I know immigration laws always change so I just don't want to be complacent but rather get clarification.

And of course I consulted the army about that which they said I was wrongly informed by the USCIS officer but I just wanted to hear from my lovely VJ friends as well since you guys have been a lot of help to me previously!

    Thank you in advance!

  4. Hi guys, I came to the U.S on a K1 visa and got my conditional permanent resident. I joined the army recently and currently filling my N400 form based on Military. I have a couple of questions on the form:

    1. Part 11 Q.7A Have you ever not filed a Federal, state or local tax return since you became a permanent resident?

and Q.7B If "Yes" did you consider yourself to be a "non-US resident?

(Technically I haven't filled any tax yet since am still less than a year here, been here only10months and still have a couple of months to file my first tax, so what do you think my answer should be?

    2. Part 11 Q.23. Have you ever been arrested, cited, or detained by any law enforcement officer(including any and all immigration officials or the U.S Armed Forces) for any reason?

    (Does this include traffic violations??)

Thanks in advance for your response!!

  5. Hello everyone thanks for your support so far but I have quite an uncommon question at the moment and I hope someone with knowledge or experience about this would be able to help me out.

I came to the U.S on a K1 VISA and got married. we have already adjusted my status and sat in for an interview. we got everything Ok but unfortunately missed out my birth certificate and wife's W2 forms so 2 days after our interview we had a mail requesting those documents which we already submitted so right now we basically waiting for the greed card to hopefully come in.

I recently enrolled in college and according to the information I had at the financial aid office, I would be eligible for a federal financial aid as an eligible non-U.S citizen if I didnt come on a F1 or F2 student visa, a J1 or J2 exchange visitor visa, a G series visa (pertaining to international organizations), because they are basically considered non-immigrant visas but if I was here on an immigrant visa then I am eligible.

So my question is, is it advisable if I go ahead and put in my financial aid application as an eligile NON-US CITIZEN eventhough I dont have my green card yet? and I am a bit confused with the K1 VISA because at some point it is considered an immigrant visa and at some point its not so i just dont know what is what! And according to the visa categories on the FAFSA page I might be eligible but am a little bit confused about it all since I don't have my green card yet and I wouldn't want to do anything to wrongfully go against the law but at the same time I need to know the right thing to do for my education so I hope someone would be able to kindly help me out. thank you very much in advance!

  6. Not really! It doesnt really depend on the interviewer but rather the case. If u met online then u should be prepared to provide a bunch of chat records to prove how u met and got involved but if u met in person then its likely they would only want to see more pictures less chat logs

I think it depends on the interviewer (CO). I My interview was less than 5 minutes and he never asked for any chat record at all. Make sure to print whatever they want and bring them with you to the interview. If they need 2011-2012 chat record, give them all of it.

  7. Just print the whole chat that they requested. I went through the same situation earlier in January after they requested our chat from 2011 to date so we provided it and then got approved afterwards. My fiancé now my wife didn't even have to show up. U can show up and still get denied if u don't have what they want so I would advice u just get ur chats together and u will be fine. Just make sure they are up to date, its important! Gud luck!

  8. Whole Facebook chat? If I brought my whole Google Chat it would be over a thousand pages? Will you be able to fit it all through the window? That has me rethinking how much I submit.

well if you guys met online then I would advice you bring ur chat from when u first started talking all through to how ur relationship started.I realised that the Accra consulate is very particular abt that if you met online but if you met in person then that is a different case all together, you can just provide sample chats but make sure you provide lots of ur pictures together with family and friends at different locations. you should be fine if ur relationship is real! nothing to stress abt!

  9. well i was asked abt six questions. . . .

1.who petitioned for u? 2.how did u meet? 3.when? 4.when did she arrive in Ghana 5. How long did she stay? 6.how did the relationship start? That was it! Then she asked me when my fiancee arrived this time and when she would be leaving then gave me a paper saying we should come back with more evidence cuz she doesn't believe we have a romantic relationship(with attitude n rudness). I don't have a problem if additional evidence is needed but the fact that she was very rude and had an attitude got my fiancee upset so she made a complaint to a supervisor the next day.

  10. I have researched the Ghana interview thread and came up with a list of possible questions at the K1 interview so here goes:

    How did you meet?

    Where does petitioner work?

What does petitioner do for a living?

When did petitioner first come to the US?

What floor does petitioner work on?

    What is petitioner’s address?

    When did the man propose?

When do you plan to get married?

How many hours does petitioner work?

How many days does petitioner work?

How many times has petitioner come to Ghana?

How long did petitioner stay (each visit)?

What are the names of petitioner’s siblings, parents?

    Have you met petitioner’s children/parents?

What are the names of petitioner’s children and how old are they?

What are the names of petitioner’s pets?

    (If previously married)

    What was petitioner’s husband/wife’s name?

    How long were they married?

If you previously applied for a B2 visa for the same person you are going to be asked why you did so and were you planning of getting married on the B2 visa?

You are also going to be asked to write down your fiance(e)’s name on piece of paper (with no hesitation) so be prepared with spelling, etc.

  12. So sorry to hear this. I went through a similar experience at the same Embassy 3 months ago with my fiance and mine did not end well but I wish you nothing but the best.

Just go back on the date assigned and hand them everything you brought plus anything else you can think of. If you are going with the petitioner please display as much affection as you can and also please hand in evidence to the person that comes through when you are in line so that the CO will have it by the time you get to the window. Best of Luck to you and yours.
