  1. My husband and I have found them to be horrendous. We got married at the end of June, tried to get me put on at the beginning of July and I only got on it at the end of August thanks to their ineptitude. We sorted it out by going down to the office in person, have you tried that?

Yeah that's what we had to do as well, had to go in person to their office two times before it was sorted. Took three months of back and forth before finally getting insurance last week! Worst system I have ever come across

  2. Need advice!
I sent in my AOS together with applications for EAD and AP in early June. However I had to resubmit the EAD application due to forgetting to sign one part. I had my biometrics appointment the 21st August and my AP was approved the end of August as well. Now I just received a notice saying I have a biometrics for my EAD. I thought I only had to go for one appointment and that this would cover both EAD and AOS? I wrote down both receipt numbers at the last biometrics. Should I just go to this appointment as well and ask them there in person? I'm guessing the applications just got separated because I had to resubmit the EAD!

  3. I applied for AOS and submitted applications for EAD, AP and AOS at the same time with a cheque for $1070. I received notices for AP and AOS saying they were accepted and are being processed but my EAD application was returned saying it has been rejected due to me not signing some where (I feel SO stupid) and an incorrect fee. What does it mean by incorrect fee?

I will try and re-do the paper work today and resubmit it, but do I now have to pay for it separatley with a new cheque just for EAD or is it still included in the AOS package which is now processing?
I feel so stupid forgetting to sign one place, I looked over the form so many times. But I suppose that's just life!

  4. Per USPS our application was received on July 8th in Chicago. I have not received any notification yet, and the check has not been cashed. Our application included the I-485 (adjustment of status), I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization), I-131 (application for travel document), and the I-864 (affidavit of support.) I did not include the I-694 (medical examination) as my wife had her physical in Colombia in October 2013. I did include a copy of her Vaccination Documentation Worksheet. I am starting to get a little worried, although seeing the above poster that sent their application in on July 1 and received notification on the 20th gives me some hope.

    Good luck to everybody!

We are in the same situation. Delivered the 5th July and have heard nothing and our check has not been cashed. I'm starting to get worried too but I think we just have to hold tight and wait.

  5. Hi All,

My fiancée came over on a K-1 and we were married within the three months time limit. I submitted her AOS package (I-485 w/ all associated forms, payment, etc) on July 3. Postal service confirms that the package was delivered to the Chicago USCIS lockbox on July 7. It's now the 16th and I haven't received an email confirmation that USCIS has the package (they also haven't cashed my check). Is there any way I can make an inquiry with them (ask them to look around their stack of unopened mail) before I have to contemplate putting together a whole new package (I do have photocopies of everything I sent, but can't imagine that sending in now a set of photocopies would do any good if they've misplaced the originals). Anyone have experience with this?

    Thanks,

    Jay

We are in the exact same postition, sent our AOS package in the 2nd July, got a receipt from postal service that it was received but have heard nothing from USCIS.

    Hope we hear soon!

  6. I got my envelope and passport with visa from the embassy yesterday, I noticed on the envelope they have spelled my name wrong (one wrong letter) on the hand written part at the top where it says my last name and first name. Everything else is typed and has the correct spelling. Do you think that's ok or should I contact the embassy?
Also the envelope is just taped shut and the tape isnt very sticky, I'm worried it looks like i've tampered with it! Is this normal?

    Thanks!

  7. Haven't experienced it myself on a K1 but I have the same plan as you so I looked in these two places:

    http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php?poe=Dublin&dfilter=0

    http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php?poe=Dublin%2C+Ireland&dfilter=0

Seems like it's just the same as a POE within the US smile.png just make sure you have enough of a layover in case immigration takes a bit longer than usual whilst they process the K1 stuff.

Thanks! I'm planning on flying at the end of April :) Seems like it's just the same as PoE in the USA judging by those reviews. Good luck with your process!

  8. Congrats on getting approved! And thank you for the advice. I'm not at that stage yet, but reading up on it already smile.png Not that I'm filing in the same country as you, but I assume the procedures are the same..

Do you think it would be a problem if I didn't have any pics for the interview though? My fiance and I can't meet each other during this visa processing time because of job issues, so I won't have any pics..

I'm pretty certain that's fine :) they know that some people can't meet during the process. I don't know what its like in your country, but here in London its very rare they ask for anything like that at the interview. But always better safe than sorry!

  9. I had my interview at the London embassy yesterday. I was asked if I had brought any more photos of my fiance and I as proof of ongoing relationship. Luckily I had brought three from this Christmas and this seemed to be enough as he approved me.

Just wanted to give a heads that maybe it is good to bring some back up proof!

  10. Yayyyyyy! So excited for you! He doesn't do his medical until 13th January. When did you do your medical?

    Thank you!! I'm excited too!

I did my medical on the 6th December. Then I saw that my status on ceac was updated on the 11th Dec and again on the 12th so my fiance called the DoS to see if I had an interview date which I had! I figured I might not get my interview letter in the post with christmas etc.
