  1. we had our interivew today at Holtsville, NY. It was a short one and went well from the way we felt it went.

IO was a very polite and professional lady officer.

After swearing in she asked for our passports, and noticed that my wife entered on H-1.

She asked for my Green Card and noticed I got my green card via employment.

So she asked for both our employment verification letters... and asked for joint bank accounts... I showed them and also other supporting documentation like joint Health insurance cards and Auto insurance cards... and documentation where I added my wife as beneficiary on my 401(k) account.

Looking at all the other documentation I had in file, we felt she was impressed by this point... and asked for pictures...

she took one picture... and made sure there was I-693 (medical) already in file.

she also asked us how we met. Then she mentioned we should be getting our GC soon, and the only thing that she was waiting was for name to clear security check, criminal etc...

I mentioned that my priority date was not current... then she said, we just missed it by few days and hopefully it will move next month, and we should get our GC when dates become current and there will no more interview.

Congratulation! It was nice to hear that. Hope it will move soon.

  2. The IO asked how, where and when we met, is there any proposal, did our parents know about our marriage, what did we do after the wedding, future plans and don't forget to bring all documents that will prove your marriage like insurance, ownership, bank statements, photos, etc.

The IO will only asked basic questions about your relationship before and after your marriage. You just need to prove that your marriage is real.

Good luck for your interview guys!

  3. I haven't recieved my interview notice.I am assuming it will be sent out in couple of days. I see lot of other people who got their I130 approved within 45-50 days and these cases has priority dates after 8-Sept. I am just wondering why some of us don't have I130 approved? is it country specific ?

I also was advised earlier by few forum members saying, they wont call u for interview until my date is current because there is no point having interview until they have visa numbers available so I am bit confusion with the whole process. please update us on your interview experience next month.

I will update you on my interview experience.

  4. Hi msangela,

My I485 status changed to testing and interview last night. Not sure how this work but do they approve I130 after interview? seems like your I130 is not approved yet either. From other forums, I hv seem people who went for interview had their I130 approved. Is there any reason why USCIS is holding up approving our I130? THanks for your help.

Hi! Yes my I130 is not yet approved. Im not sure but someone told me that during the interview they will approve our I130. When is you interview schedule?

  5. Congrats MsAngela on receiving the interview date!

California field office seem to be moving faster than East Coast ones in scheduling interviews!

Good Luck with the interview. please keep us posted.

    Dhp,

Congrats on the EAD.... yes, I got couple of updates from the time card production approved to by the time it was mailed..... seemed like back and forth few times.

    Thank you! I will!

  6. Yes, I am.

    I updated my timeline.

Please take a look and suggest me for EAD , if you have any idea why it went back.

I got two dfferent eamil on same day first one in morning said card production ordered - in description said we mailed your card on address , the one we have in system.

I got second email, Post decision activity- said I-765 approved, we will send you notice. After this it is going to in production. So I didn't get for first email I received in morning.

So I am waiting to see what's coming in mail.

    Also i don't see any changes in I - 131.

    Please share your experince

That also happened to me. Nevermind the second email. No changes also in I-131 but you will receive a combo card.

  7. Hey Guys,

anybody with priority date (for concurrent filing) between Sept- 9,2013 to Sept 30,2013 has recieved interview date and/or I130 approval? I am asking this because I hear from different forums that they are processing applications with PD after Sept-8 for last few weeks. Just wondering if anyone got the Interview date. I know, they wont issue green card until my date is current however, I am asking this because I want to know if I should start preparing for the interview. I also remember, someone saying, they wont call for interview until my date is current. So I am bit confused with process flow.

second question, I filed my application concurrently with PD of Sept-27. USCIS mailed my EAD card on 12/10. My I130 is under review. Do they approve I130 irrepective of Interview at local office or it will be kept pending until the interview?

    thanks for your help guys!

Hi! I got my interview notice last Dec 4. My PD is Sept 20, 2013 and my interview schedule is on Jan 8, 2014.
