  1. Hello All...Sooo I question which is extremely important please help!

I am filing for my husband Petition to Remove Conditions I751. I am the petitioner, he came to the US on a K1 visa, I was able to file on my own with the help of this website which I love!

I have sent the I-751 but they returned the package because of "without proper signature". Here is what the letter says:

" If you selected block "a" in part 3, the signature of you and your spouse are required. You, the conditional resident listed on page 1, should sign on page 7, and your spouse listed on page 3, should sign on page 8".

Here is the CONFUSION: When I go to page 7 to sign it is asking for the PETITIONER'S signature, which is me. And page 8 is asking for "spouse or individual's signature" which I think is also me?

For those who have filed please help me in figuring out this confusion. I have to return the package properly signed.

    Thanks in advanced!

  2. Hello All,

I just wanted to ask something in regards to the WIC program. My husband came on a K1 visa and we are currently awaiting on his AOS application. I am pregnant and currently working full time but I would like to know if I apply for the WIC program, does that affect our immigration process since I have to prove I am able to provide for my husband while he is awaiting for his work permit. If someone could kindly clarify this for me.

    Thanksss in advanced!!

  3. Paperwork is very frustrating and lots of time consuming but when you are on a log distance relationship and you plan to bring your partner to the States paperwork is a MUST....it is all that it is into this process especially if you decide to do it on your own and not hire an attorney or notary public....my thoughts to you is to really think about all you have gone through with this guy if you think he can or wants to change...you say he is hard headed and today it may be with the paperwork tomorrow could be with anything else in life...At the end it is your decision....there is always a 50 chance but it is always better to go to the interview prepared...with the tax returns it depends on how they want to see how he can support you...also since you mentioned he does not have many things to prove employment they could probably ask those tax returns......wish you the best

  4. Hello VJ once again.......My husband is currently on the AOS processing at this time as he came on a fiance visa. We submitted the application in December, I have heard that applying for a work permit may not be worth as it may probably arrive around the same time as the green card....Has anyone have that experience??? We would love to know as my husband and I have not decided what to do with the work permit since we would like to save that money if possible.......Also I've read in this website under the guides for work permit that if a person is applying at the same time or during the time AOS is pending they do not have to pay the fees for the working permit....Is this true??? Please let me know what have been your experience with this, and if you have applied for a permit how long did it take to receive it as well as the AOS to be completed.......lots of thanksssss in advanced

  5. Hello All,

So after the long journey of K-1 visa we are in the process of starting our AOS journey. I apologize in advanced as you would probably see me asking sooo many questions through out this new journey but as K-1 process we have decided to this on our own with the help and guidance form this awesome website. My questions are as follows.

    1) My husband and I are from the Dominican Republic, does he need a copy of his birth certificate or the an original?

    2) Does the birth certificate must be within 6 months as it was for the K-1 visa?

    3) The birth certificate must be translated, and the person must be certified, is it appropriate to go to a notary public for this? if not, who do we go to?

    4) As far as evidence, what have been requested according to USCIS is evidence of eligibility, so is marriage certificate, copy of visa, and arrival/departure from enough? Or do we send pics of wedding and/or other evidence of relationship?

    5) For Criminal History, this only pertains to those who have been arrested or convicted in the country?

    6) For Police Clearness, is this related to Criminal History? or should we submit the form we submitted at the consulate the day of the interview, Police Records (in Dominican Republic or Papel de Buna Conducta)?

    7) Can he travel after filing I-131 or is it not granted he may return if the petition it still pending?

    8) I moved right after my husband arrived, we did not inform of an address change USCIS, would this affect us in this process?

    9) On the website it specifies that if he did his medical within a year based on K-1 visa he would only need his vaccination records? Is this true?

Now for his work permit ( I know I need so much info)

    1) I have heard many people say it is not worth filing due to the length of time, is this true? How long does it take? I live in NJ.

    2) Do we qualify for the fee waiver based on k-1 visa? Has anyone received this waiver? (Work Authorization fee waiver)

I thank everyone in advanced for their input this journey could turn very complicated if lock of guidance.

    God Bless!!!!

  6. I am so sorry you are going through this.....long distance relationships are verrrrryyyy defficult and it is more so to be apart from the one you love.....but if that person truly truly truly loves you would wait for you not 3, 4, 8, 10, but 1000 months if necesary, whatever it takes to be together...I've been with my husband for 7 years total, apart seven years.....he was down in DR and I was here in NJ we had to wait years to be together and there was never even the though of him breaking up because it was just taking tooo long.....my thoughts to you is take care of you...know you learn from all relationships and this one to me does not seem worth a second thought.....when you are in a long distance relationship you are not waiting for a visa, you are waiting for the one you love.........God Bless!

  7. I thank God for he has done for me and my fiance...Thanks God for this page which has been so helpful, I don't know what I would have done without this page...I have been part of the VJ family for some time, but I have always been so busy that I was not able to interact neither post the review of our interview and decided to do so, since it was soo helpful to me I know this can be a great source for those that are in this long and kind of complicated journey....Our journey starts as follows...I filed the K-1 visa on July 31, 2012, they took FOREVER with our application...My NOA 1 took so long to come be sent...then they sent the REF for "intent to marry" I sent those back with additional proves of trips I took after I filed the petition, apparently this never arrived I had to sent it back again and wile I was gathering all the documents My NOA 2 had arrive!!...but this process took almost a YEAR!! for us. For the interview I found out a day I decided to pick up the phone and call because we have never received a notice of the interview, so 3 WEEKS before the interview day I find out that our interview is for July 2, 2013..OMG!...We started gathering documents and getting ready.....All of this is to tell you that if they take a long time with your case Don't panic although I know it is easier said than done...now to the review....We got to the consulate our appointment was at 6:45 we arrived there and yeas there were the buscones if you do not pay attention you would go with them and waste time as they would make you seat across the consulate don't know why?....we get on line guys one side girls on the other, the lady outside telling people the instructions was sort of rude, we go inside after 5 min we are called to give documents (DS forms ect.) this was a latina lady (very rude?) pay no mind to people like this..... then he had to get his finder prints did that went back to the window where I saw the green ticket! we were told to sit down, after about 30 min we were called for the interview. We were never separated asked him to write my name, where I work, my schedule, last time I visited, when we are getting married, how many kids we want to have (to both of us), what college I went to, when did I graduate, She asked to see pics, asked who were the people on two of the f the pics, then she says "Visa Aprovada",.. My advise to you as hard as it could be RELAX, go very well PREPARED and ORGANIZED ...I took a big binder with all sort of documents and things that would prove the relationship even calling cards I have kept for all these years....and practice although you know your partner it is always good to practice...another advice is if your case is not complicated you don't a lawyer just use the guides at uscis website and in this website it is soo helpful...also don't believe what other people even some lawyers that say if you don't submit a pic kissing you will be denied it's a LIE as long as your relationship is genuinely true you would be okay, there are come officers tougher than others, but just get educated about this whole journey and you would be just fine...Hope this helped...God Bless!!
