  1. Have you sent any specific evidence related that he's been targeted by Al Qaida? They should consider give you an expedite especially related to terrorism organization like this one.

Yes I did, I also sent new evidence yesterday :(

Have you pursued refugee or asylum status? According to the USCIS website...."Refugee status or asylum may be granted to people who have been persecuted or fear they will be persecuted on account of race, religion, nationality, and/or membership in a particular social group or political opinion." http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=1f1c3e4d77d73210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=1f1c3e4d77d73210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD

Maybe you'd have better success with that route?

Thanks for the link however we started on I-130 and I don't think we can switch to any other route.

Along with trying to get an expedite request, I hope he is also trying to get the government to protect him. And if not that, I hope he'll try to move to another country ASAP. His safety is important. Even if the Baghdad embassy doesn't think he is in danger, he needs to get to safety.

Yes, you're right I'm trying to transfer his case to Turkey where he can stay in peace until his case is completed at NVC. Thanks for your concerns.

    Is his Visa number current?

Our priority date is September 7, 2012 I think it is current.

Don't get discouraged. Some people on here can be a little blunt and forget to consider people's emotional feelings.

You need to get an Ambassador on your side or try emailing the White House. Don't give up because you were denied once.

I know right? Can't believe some people can be at that level of rudeness. This is a good idea I will send a letter to the white house as well. Thank you so much for your kind words.

  2. people who live in direct battle zones in Syria do not get expedites. My friend's husband lives in Damascus and was denied an expedite. And don;t tel me not really, have you watched the new lately? they don;t exactly live in Disney Land. I never said the situation was the same, I didn;t know your husband's situation to compare. But obviously the embassy in Baghdad didn't believe there was a good enough reason for expedite. They only thing you can do is follow their instructions and send in more evidence, they have the last word

I know exactly how bad and sad the Syrian situation is, but still it is a civil war that is effecting all Syrians as a whole society. I'm talking about my husband case specifically since it is a matter of life or death for him as a single person targeted by Al Qaida!!!!

  3. My husband is in danger. I already requested an expedition and surprisingly my request was denied even though I sent out a lot of proofs. I'm really stressed out I do not know what to do to save his life. Please help me if you have an experience in expedition requests. NVC representative has just told me that I have to persuade US embassy in Baghdad/Iraq because they'll decide whether to accept or deny.

Please lay out any suggestions or thoughts that might help. I appreciate your help.

  4. Hi there, I would love to help, but I really don't understand the situation you're in right now! How come you sent all of the required docs electronically a month ago and NVC has not received them yet? You might want to check your email and make sure they were delivered to the correct e-mail address otherwise I have nothing to say!

I'm still at the very first step in NVC, so I don't know if they do send a confirmation email or not. After 9 days of paying my AOS fee online, I got an email from NVC with attached receipt of my payment though.

    Hope this can help!!!

  5. Hello dear, I live in CA too particularly in San Diego. For general instructions: find your region congress man/woman they should have websites where you can find a release form to fill out. Then you'll need to fax this form along with your story (a brief story telling why you think they should help you speed up the process). One of their staff officer will review it and contact you within probably two to three weeks.

From my personal experience, I would say its not worth it. A senator's voice can be very helpful in the USCIS level but not in NVC. I contacted Barbara Boxer, I called her office two weeks later the secretary advised me to send my inquiry to my regional senator, Susan Davis, since they have sooooooooo many cases to be reviewed at Boxer's office in Oakland. I did contact senator Susan Davis and based on the extreme emergency my husband is in crying.gif they accepted my request for help. I received a call from the senator's office, the guy was so nice told me exactly when my case arrived at the NVC and said its going to take two weeks to be in the system then he would call them again to make sure they process the case expeditiously. I was extremely happy and thought everything would be great!!!!! The guy called NVC again asked for expedite the request was sent to US embassy, and they refused it cray5ol.gif by the way I provided many proofs and threat letters + Santor's request (But the truth is WHO CARES) nobody cares especially embassies! The NVC representative was so sorry for me though cray5ol.gif

I would say try! it won't hurt you. Good luck.

  6. I don't think it will retrogress, and even if it does than couple of months only. I don't know how the cut off dates are determined. I can guess two options

    1) NVC determines cut off dates based on total applications including the ones being reviewed at USCIS and not approved.

if that is the case no retrogression at all.

    2) NVC determines cut off dates based on application currently available at NVC (i.e. the ones with approved I130 only) in that case if USCIS approves a lot during October there might be retrogression. Even than i don't think it will go a lot because based on this forum i guess most of the California guys are approved and VSC looking at October ones.

If anybody knows other reason for why it might retrogress please share, but I am positive for now.

ahh and also visa bulletin itself didn't say anything about retrogression. in September vb they did tell about possible retro and look what happened, so lets stay positive smile.png

    Let's stay positive good.gif

  7. It depends on availability of appointments at the assigned embassy, but since your case is completed while the visa - bulletin is still current this is great!! You should hear happy news soon! I would say wait couple of days if nothing comes up call the NVC.

    Good luck energy.gif

Can you please let us know when did you file? And details about your case timeline if you've the time to do it :)
