Thank you everyone

I had told my wife during this whole process we needed patience. The visa process did test us. My wife handled it perfectly, but after she was approved in May she had asked a few times "is the card here yet"

I was prepared to send in fees, documents whenever they had asked for it. Like I had said before VisaJourney was soo very helpful. I had used some of the templates from cover letters to sworn affidavits from family and friends.

Finally my wife received her 10 year green card. Actually she got it yesterday (July 3) and this is our first chance to update everyone. We were already out the door and I checked the mail. She was standing next to me when we got the letter. I knew it was inside when I felt the card and noticed it was from Laguna Niguel. We opened it together and gave her a kiss.

We want to thank everyone who posted their suggestions and experiences . This site is soo helpful.

Our next journey will be for her naturalization which she will be able to apply for this December.

This site was truly helpful. Actually before I decided to the paperwork myself I had a free consultation with an immigration lawyer downtown in the financial district. He had a nice office and looked the part but I left there saying no way is he going to handle this. I had called my wife in the Philippines and told her I was going to do it. The lawyer had brought out forms for the fiance visa and I had specifically told him this was for a spousal visa. He then started filling the forms with our information and said his handwriting is not good. I told him to STOP at that point. As far as what he quoted me it was $200-$300 more than what he said over the phone.

I was checking email, and case status online daily. It still says case pending. Receiving the letter is proof enough for us

Throughout this whole process we received no RFE or anything to delay her case.

We were ready to go out the door yesterday and I had checked the mail. I ran back upstairs and we opened the letter together. Needless to say when we came to the word where it said approved I gave her a kiss and hug. It said we should be receiving the new card within 60 days.

My wife will be eligible for citizenship this Dec.

We received the approval letter yesterday!

Hopefully we will get an early interview

Congratulations on your case. Don't be excited that much hehehe cause we need at least 3 months to be scheduled for interview and another 2-3 months for the actual interview base on the timeline of the other ppl. Have fun waiting same like me. hehehe

I am still soo very happy. I don't want to call my wife again because it is 4:30 in the morning now. I wonder if she fell back to sleep, because I woke her up with the good news before?

I had to call and wake up my wife to tell her our case was completed. Yep 2:30 am and she was asleep but I can tell in her voice she excited about as much as I am

From the automated response .."Your case was completed on Sept. 15, 2006 please allow 8 weeks from this date to receive further instructions"

Personally these newer versions came at the right time for me girl 37 just as I am about to send mine off to NH

Take a look. I received the old version but haven't sent it in yet. Newer I-864 version is so much easier. I will be using this one
