I passed my interview today.
-
Hey All,
I received notification that I was scheduled for an interview on 1/27/15 and that a letter has been mailed out with the date and instructions. However, today is 2/8/2015 and still no letter. How long should I wait before contacting USCIS? Is anybody else in the same boat? I am concerned because I do not want to miss the interview ... it seems that all the interviews are about 1 months after receiving notification of scheduling.
Thanks,
Nice to see a fellow South African in the group

Hi, could someone update my bio please I did it on 12/31 , somehow it went missing from the timeline , thank you
-
@VJVasi i opened the book for the first time yesterday they gave me at the biometrics. i had my husband test me without studying and honestly, most of it seems to be general knowledge. the history part of it espeically. i do have to say that the current events(name of house reperesentative etc) i need to brush on :/
i do have a question. i was asked to bring my joint tax returns with my husband. i just simply went on the irs website and had them mail the transcripts to me, is that good enough or do i have to take the huge stack of tax papers to show our joint filing?
Hi, I would take the transcript that comes in the mail, rather be safe than sorry Meaning take as much as possible

Has anyone started studying for the interview questions?? They are not that easy

Quick question can I walk in before the date???
-
I also got my yellow letter without biometrics, I think there is such a huge back log in some field offices don't worry!
-
Hi everyone, i was wondering when you do you receive your bio letter? I have received my yellow letter but no bio letter yet,
-
Yellow letter received
-
I noticed a lot of people have "walk in" dates, are you waiting for a biometric letter, how long after acceptance of case do you receive a letter, I'm still waiting....
-
Thank youfor me the yellow letter was a letter asking for more information to be brought to the interview
Hi can be added to the filling list
-
Hi, what is a yellow letter??
-
There was nothing wrong with my case, it was a j1 converted to a Cr1, obviously you can only book n medical after you have an interview DATE, two people got denied infront of me, when you there everybody hears your conversation because the seats are so close to the window. It's better to be over prepared , I got all the info from this site when I prepared and it helped ALOT, their list is ok but depending on the officer she might ask for more.

Thanks JohnR and SusieQQQ, I think I am overthinking things as the interview date gets closer! )
Hi there, when's your interview? So my experience is that, if you have an interview date, make sure your medical examination and documentation is done and ready to hand in and NOT older than 6 months, the dr stamped my papers in Cape Town and I had my interview in JHB, the first thing she asked me for is if I have my medical, so be sure that is ok, also take ALOT of evidence with you, I had two files, and she went through everything, JHB can be difficult, you should be fine PM me for any advice, my interview was in 2010

if it is your daughter, she can come here without a trouble because she has a US citizen parent, as for your wife, i suggest going to th embassy ASAP!! And explain the situation!
-
Congrats!!! Yes, usually it is less nerve wracking than anticipated.
Thank you
can you please tell me a little bit more about your case?
why did they call you for interview??/ waiver case? or any red flags>>>?
i want to see maybe your case is similar like mine..
thank you for your help
Hi, i did not have any red flags, i had allot of evidence. the interview was 5 minutes and everything went well, it was a normal i751 case, i had no RFE or waivers, just got an interview, and he said ok your approved.
-
Hi guys, well i had my interview yesterday all went well and i got approved, it was not as nerve wrecking as i thought.

Well our K-1 is finally approved!! The Joburg consulate was waiting for an email reply from the Nigerian National Population Commision to verify his birth certificate. Now the last minute plans are underway.
I have an off topic question, anyone in the Joburg area know where we can find vanilla extract with no ethanol? Found a brand online called Vanilla Man but cant find it in any shops. Trying to get some for my aunt who is doing my wedding gown.
Thank you!!
Congratss, i have not been back in Jozie ever since my interview cause i flew out the next day, but across the street there is a huge mall, try woolworths they should have some.
