    You are mistaken. Passport-style photographs are no longer always required to be submitted with an N-400 per the latest N-400 guidelines, dated 9/29/16, which state:

    "Only applicants who reside overseas must provide two identical color photographs of yourself taken recently."

    (Page 10)

    The photograph that appears on the naturalisation certificate will be taken at the biometrics appointment.

    OP, did you maintain your F-1 status until you were at least 26?

    Thank You for replying back. I was with F1 until 27.

    I am thinking for just in case to send 2 pictures and hopefully they will choose the one from Biometrics appointment - the reason is that i am growing a mustage for "Movember" (cancer awerness) and this is not something that i have all the time :)

    Hi Guys,

    I am trying to prepare my N-400 packet and I have couple of questions:

    1. Do i need to send passport photos? I am confused because instructions states that photos are required for people who lives outside the USA. On the other hand if you read the "Document Checklist" it says that i need to send two photos.

    2. Regardin Part Line 44A- "Are you a male who lived in the United States at any time between your 18th and 26th birthdays? (This does not include living in the United States as a lawful nonimmigrant.)

    " I came to USA ehen i was 22 as a F1 Visa and i became a permanent resident at 31. Should i check it as "NO"?

    Hey, This varies a lot, I can tell you about my case...the date on my approval letter is 10/06/2016, and I received my GC today 11/02/2016. I made an infopass on 10/22/2016 and they told me that current estimated time to receive GC from the date of approval letter is 1 mon

    They estimated that I should receive my GC by 11/04/2016 because 11/06/2016 is Sunday, they also suggested to make another infopass on 11/07/2016 if I don't receive the GC by 11/04/2016. Hope this helps, Congratulations and Good Luck! :thumbs:

    Hi xtrasome,

    Thank You for your help. Last night at 10pm (so weird) i got a text message and an e-mail that my card is being in production so i believe i will receive it on time. Hopefully next Saturday or something. We are so happy that it is over. Next step will be applying for citizenship.

    I am so happy guys - we are finally approved.

    It has been a long journey, but there is a light in the tunnel:)

    We had our first interview on the 19th of november. It went ok but they were waiting on my background check. After 2 infopasses and one congressional inquiry we got a letter in the mail (on my birthday - it was totally ruined) for a second interview 10 days later.

    It was a stoked interview. That was the worst experience of my life - it took 3 hours and a half. We were separated and grilled pretty bad. Honestly, we were so stressed out and tired by the end that when the io said that he was aproaving our case we didn't even react. So glad it is over.

    Today got a text -card in production.

    Now it's time so celebration :) Cheers.

    Hi I need some help.

    My interview was on Nov 19th. Still no news. I was trying to make an info pass but I wasn't able - it says that there are no appointments available.

    Anyone has any ideas? I am basically trying to find out if my security check was cleared. Today i went to the county office to see if my record is clean and i only got one traffic ticket that i've paid and did school. Also got a DMV record showing pretty much nothing on my record. So i am getting kind of frustrated.

    They've already messed up our plans for the holiday but it is very stressfull to wait.

    Had my interview 11/13 and nothing yet. Was not approved on spot so I don't even know my fate. I am in California. How long does it take in this area to at least get a reply , does anyone know?

    Same here. Mine was on november 19th IO said that depending on my security check i will get my green card. I've already cancelled any plans to flight home. I was tring to do a surpise present (myself) on the 24th of december but i guess this is not happening.

    The weird part is the for the security check they do a "name check" my last name is so weird that nobody else has it (yes i googled myslef;))

    With my spouce we are going to Grand Canyon for thanksgiving so i can relax a little, cause i almost got a breakdown last weekend.

    I called today the number that was on the interview letter but they said that i need to wait until january 3rd to open a case. So.... That sucks

    TODAY IS THE HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!! I GOT APPROVED!!! Thank you everybody for all the help in this journey. God bless you all! See you in two years!!! :)On November 18, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later.

    Congrats. When did you get the text/email. Today or yesterday?

    Good evening all,

    Today, Darwin and I had our interview. Our experience is not much to speak of in terms of excitement. We got there at 10:00 and our appointment was at 10:30. We waited until 11:20 until we were called in. The interview was 10 minutes long. I received a text message telling me of a status change at 5:30. His card is in production. She also told us at the interview that the he will receive his card in 2 weeks. We are so very relieved!

    Same sex couple here. went to testing and interview on Oct 29th. hopefully get my interview in dec 2nd week. haven't heard anything about EAD/AP. checking the USCIS website case status every 3-4 hr

    aos sent sept 20th 2013

    biometrics done oct 21st

    Same here:) checking online for the EAD card. Have the feeling that i will probably get it couple day prior the interview. Hopefully tonorrow morning i will get a good news.:)
