My husband and I leave for Barbados on Wednesday. He will do the medical on Thursday and then the interview on Monday.
We're doing last minute prep on all docs and are getting excited to hear APPROVED also!

Hey dwheels I'm finally in the U.S with my husband, it feels so unreal to me, enjoying every bit of the moment, it's another honeymoon for us.

Just got home from my interview and my visa is APPROVED!!!!!!!!! Finally!! Thank you to the vj community!! Now unto waiting for my visa the american consul who interviewed me didnt mention anything about the delay so i didnt bother asking coz i dont want to ruin the moment! But anyways i can now sleep peacefully coz my immigration journey is almost over! Thank you god! Goodluck and congrats in advance everyone.

Hi VJ family , my interview is August 5th at 7:45 am and I am so nervous...can't sleep! I waited so long for this...

Got our case complete email from NVC today, interview scheduled for September 02nd...

Even though NVC has your Police Certificate and even if it isn't expired yet, I would have one with you any way for the interview. I took all my documents with me to the interview and they asked for everything all over again, even though I saw everything right in front of the CO. They even asked for another AOS (I hadn't signed it, so I signed it and dated it) and all the proof I sent in with it.

"Graduate from here" haha it feels so much like graduation! What I know is that your husband will need to nicely tell the officer at the immigration that you asked for the Social Security card to be issued at the same time. They need to tick something on the computer so that it arrives at your place (thanks Sukie btw!). But apparently it's not done automatically. I plan to play dumb and say something like "oh at the embassy they insisted that I tell the officer about the SS number to be issued, they say something about something to tick". But if after 3 weeks nothing is received at your place, you'll need to go to the local office. It should arrive pretty quickly after. And nothing to do after he received his green card!
But yeah this is graduation day LifeOnHold and there's nowhere else to go now! (at least for the next 2 years on my side!). Have a safe trip on Monday (I'm sure the visa will arrive on time!)

Aww... enjoy your hubby and a new phase in your life where you can actually be TOGETHER! Speaking of which, I have focused so much on this entire process that I don't really know what happens "after." I know my husband probably won't get his Social Security card automatically and that I will have to go to my local SS office for that. But then what happens after? His Green Card just come automatically or am I supposed to do something? Is there another thread that I join after we graduate from here? Loll

Reiceived package 4 as well this morning at 1:30 AM....interview scheduled on 04th Sep, since I am going to the US at the end of the month I am trying to reschedule it to an way earlier day in AUG

I know this might sound unappreciative but this whole waiting between "Ready" to "Administrative Processing" to "Issued" and Visa in hand is driving me nuts. At no point during this process will they give you the satisfaction of instant results. This marks one week since the interview, and although it does feel like it was just yesterday, reading your Visa is issued and printed but not having it so far for 3 days after that is such a bummer! Let us get on with our lives!
So sorry for everyone who has been or still is waiting for the status to change to AP or Issued.

This is so exciting! You are finally going to travel with your husband! I wish you and him a happy happy happy life. And thanks for having been one of my "interview and -waiting for the visa to be printed- buddy". Same for you @sandraperry .I wish all the best for everyone else. The visa journey is almost over and we can be proud it didn't turn us into crazy people (well at least not entirely! ;-) )
I also wanted to thank everyone for their help, moral support or for just sharing their stories (no no this is not my nobel price speech - but if I ever get one I would include VJ members haha).

Appointment September 3.

Between me and my husband, only one extra luggage is going (my American Express card pays for that...yay). And then everything else will go in the container, whenever they decide to send it. My husband has a lot of engineering books from his Masters program that he wants to take and they are too heavy for luggage. Plus we are shipping all his winter clothing.
This is exciting!! We are all going at almost the same time

We leave Monday by train to Lisbon and we are staying at the hotel within the airport. So it's Lisbon I usually like to fly into Porto and leave from Lisbon. That way I see family in both places.

Apparently The Glitch is affecting the assigning of interview dates, hence my unduly long wait; until a couple of weeks ago HK was assigning dates at around 40 days from CC, whereas mine is 59 days. Also, I've been informed that HK canceled interviews on August 1st, as well as some other dates - not certain what the other dates were yet.

We just got our case complete yesterday - well, technically we got CC on the 31st, but I didn't find out until the 1st. Waiting for interview to be scheduled in Montreal. Pretty excited that we got through, especially since the NVC seems to just get slower and slower!

I just bought a plane ticket to go to Moscow for my husband's interview and celebrate our 1 year aniversary. I arrive on the 9th, interview on the 11th and I hope the visa is issued in time to fly back together on the 21st.
I just realized I have to make my house ready for my husband to actually move in! I have to make space in the closet and drawers and relinquish a sink in the bathroom! Such good things to worry about!
Anyone have suggestions on a place in Moscow to celebrate an Aniversary?

Do I called NVC since I was starting to wonder what was going on. September 5th it is. Cc july 11th. Montreal conslate for any of the canadian folks wondering.
Feeling quite relieved to put a date on this nightmare life ride....

hey guys, im going to the interview with my wife on 8/14
we got alot of docs that we think would be helful and including all those listed on the P4 that they didnt ask for just to be sure.
i think that by me being there should be more than enough.
