  1. I'm sorry I didn't read your post carefully.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's skin problem.

I don't know anything about What FBI would require..

Yes she can still submit I-131 but it requires the biometric appointment too according to the instruction. Plus this takes times too.

You can ask japanese embassy/consulate if her family can pick up the police record after it's ready. I think that could save some time.

I think you should go to USCIS office and talk to an officer since everything requires the finger prints. Every persons case is different and it's not her fault that she can't complete the biometrics. It's a medical condition.

    Good luck

  2. I have 2 questions for Japan filers who sent their I-130 petition to the Chicago Lockbox.

    1. Did you get your translations (of marriage certificate, etc.) notarized in the case of self-translation or otherwise?

    2. Did you send your spouses Japanese family register (with translation) with your I-130?

My father called USCIS and someone said they required notarization for self-translations as well as family register. I have read conflicting information on this site. I would like to know if anyone of you who have actually filed and were approved could shed some light on this for me. Thank you very much.

    Hello,

    1. Yes we did at the us consulate. I don't think it's required by USCIS. However we did it just in case and for the future uses in the states.

    2. No we didn't include japanese family resister (koseki) with our I-130.

And we just received an approval letter.

Hopefully this will help and good luck! ☻

Congrats!! Im very happy for you LoveMyTico!!

Im still waiting.. But knowimg that you are approved gave me a big hope.

I just hope ours will come soon too.

  4. Where is your file? If you are in Texas.... maybe we are in the same box... collecting dust.

I was told by the Ombudsman's office that everytime anyone makes an iquiry, the liason pulls the physical file from the officers desk, looks over it and answers the inquiry.. then gets put back....

I was also told by the senator's office that they only look on the computer to answer inquiries. they have access to all of the screens and don't need the physical file...

too many hands in the pot and nobody is stirring... #######????

#######.. I don't even know how many times I've said the word..The file is in Texas. Yes I believe we are in the same box at the bottom of all boxes with newer filers. It's covered by thick dust so no one can see it...

Luckily our congressmans office is being helpful which we didn't even know they did a follow up since we didn't contact them after the expediting request last year. They sent us a letter saying They cleared background checks as of Feb 7 and we will hear something in 30-45days. Let's see what's gonna happen.

  5. Ombudsman's office can't do anything until I am past 60 days of the normal processing time... the 60 day excuse again.... unbelieveable

    LoveMyTico...

We are still waiting too. I come here everyday to read your post. I really feel when you get your approval we will get ours too. That's what happened when our case was transferred.

Our PD is April 15th. My husband who is USC is from south NJ so very close to you too.

We tried to expedite the case due to his deployment but nothing happened since he is just a civilian contractor. I find it very unfair..

I am so sick of this but I'm just telling myself everything happens for a reason. Maybe this long waits will be paid off in some kinda way in the future.

You are not the only one LoveMyTico. Hopefuly this would cheer u up a little bit.

  6. We need any help we could get. My husband is a DOD personnel working and living in afganistan. He tried to expedite the case more than a month ago but we haven't got approved yet. He called USCIS to find out what's going on and they just told him wait. They can't even locate our file and can't tell us where it is.

Today my husband called and talked to tier2. She told him we wouldn't get approved till Dec or Jan since he was ending his tour in Dec.

however I saw people who are in the middle of their deployment and got their approvals right away.

Does anyone have any idea what to do?

    Please help us...

    Thank you.

  7. You can't force them to transfer the files, i think. Also you can contact your congressman about this (also inquiring what's happening to your petition if they're unable to locate it) and about the expedite. Sometimes they request expedites on behalf of the petitioner. What was the cause for expediting?

    Thank you for the reply.

Yes we are thinking about contacting my husband's senator or congressman but we werent sure how reliable they could be..

My husband is in a war zone (DOD civilian, non military). Attacks has been getting worse and worse everyday and we are unable to communicate sometimes. I saw some people in a war zone expedited their case and got approved fast just like military people, so we tried to do as well.

I just wonder why they cant tell us where the file is at least. It seems like many people can find out where their cases are by calling USCIS...

I know I shouldnt think like this but This visa processing seems very unfair.. cray5ol.gif

  8. Hello guys..

I have been coming to this forum and you guys have been helping me to keep my head up..I feel that Im not the only one just waiting waiting and waiting..ClockWatch2.gif Im the beneficiary and April filer by the way..

My husband tried to expedite our case more than a month ago. He called and talked to the tier2 a few times to find out whats going on.

The only answers he got were they couldnt locate the file and didnt know where it was. They also said someone has it and whoever has it has to update it, so just wait.

That means our file got lost doesnt it? Hope Im wrongcray5ol.gif Oh and one of them told my husband that the file could be at Vermont since he is from NJ but she wasnt sure. The receipt # is MSC#######.

Any of you have any ideas? Is it possible for the files to get transferred to Vermont?

    Thanks alot..

  9. I'm sorry I'm new to this and trying to figure out how to post. Anyway...Please help us.,

My husband is in the exactlly same situation as you are and we have been waiting our approval forever. We had our NOA1 in April and since then it's nothing.

I would like to know what / how you put the reason to expedite the case.

In addition, my husband is also in the air guard and he has to do his drill once he gets back to the states.

Thank you very much in advance!

  10. Hello,

I am currently working for DoD in support of OEF / OIF in a war zone. I am a non-military personnel. I recently filed for my spouse from an APO address. I was wondering if I can get my case expedited. If so, how should I proceed?

I have filed for CR-1 (immigrant visa) 3 weeks ago. USPS tracking number shows that USCIS lockdown received my mail a week ago, but no NOA or text yet.
