Hello Everyone! My husband had his interview on April 14th. He was missing a couple forms (to include medical, since there was some type of mix-up), but the interview went very well and the officer all but told him he was approved. On Wednesday the 16th he took the forms to the embassy. Yesterday I received an email saying that the case was placed under administrative processing? Any thoughts on this? Is this good?

Finally your day is coming. So excited for you. We'll be here waiting.
Did you request a expedite? And was approved? Your profile says you filed DCF did you?
I did not file DCF, I will look into that and change it on my profile. I did request and expedite and it was approved.

My case was complete and sent to the embassy on March 3, 2014. I have yet to hear from them... Am I missing something? I called the embassy but the told me they could not discuss case info over the phone. I sent them an email but still have not gotten a response This waiting (once again) is driving me crazy!!

NVC FINALLY gave me a case number! Yay! Just waiting to pay the AOS!
-
Soooo upset! Just called the NVC and I STILL don't have a case number! Its been over the "10-20" business days! The lady was super rude (surprise, right?) after 30 minutes waiting I asked to talk to a supervisor, she put me on hold for 2 secs then told me there were no supervisors available! Such idiots! Any suggestions on what I should do?

My case was received on the 16th! Now, just waiting on the case number! Hopefully that comes sooner than later!!

As it states, don't count anyone twice. Although it may not make a lot of sense, put 0 in the married box as your husband has already been accounted for.
Ok perfect Thanks Saylin! You are awesome

I am filing out the AOS and am a bit confused on part 5, where is asks for the sponsors household size. It says not to count anyone twice... I am sponsoring my husband... Do NOT mark the married box since he was already counted on number 1? I hope this makes sense...

I'm pretty sure you can't get transcripts if you didn't file tax returns. Just write in $0.00 for the three years on the form, then include a letter explaining why you didn't file taxes (no income due to stay-at-home wife/mother).
Ok that's what I thought. Thanks so much

Question:
I am gathering my information for my AOS, I have not worked for the past three years nor did I file taxes (stay at home wife/mother). Do I have to get transcripts even if I didn't file? And yes, I have a joint sponsor.

Congrats!!! Make sure you read posts 1 and 2 in the topic. Unfortunately you will not receive a email or any correspondence when NVC receives your case. Sometimes it is fast and sometimes the service center sends them slowly. Some people say it was updated on the website. But for most of us you will have to call the NVC and give them your MSC receipt number to find out when they received it. (Then follow the steps in post 1 and 2) If it seems like a long wait then some people call a USCIS tier 2 representatives to find out when the case was "physically shipped" not just "shipped to the mail room".
Ok, great thanks!!

Hello everyone! Im new to the NVC stage When the USCIS transfers the case to NVC do you receive an email stating this! How does one know?

I think this is just them covering their behinds (once again)... From the resaerch Ive done, a month seems about right!
-

Was your petition aboard
I did file from abroad but I do not believe that had any bearing on my case as I was transfered with a group from VJ and none of them filed from abroad.
-
Thanks! I really am! Cant wait to see my fellow VJers get approvals!!

Is this true for all petitioners?
To be honest, I am not sure. I was told that the US embassy in Chile has very little backlog and so they are able to take cases such as mine to rush the process... Maybe take a trip to the US embassy in Mexico and ask?
