Still waiting patiently for my EAD to get approved/get an appointment letter for my AOS interview. Case being handled at National Benefits Center. Hoping I get my EAD any day now, waiting and not knowing is starting to get hard! Filed everything together on April 29th, so can't call and inquire about things yet. Anyone who filed around the same time had anything come through yet?

I got my letter today for my interview on the 26th. Whats weird is the letter is dated for Monday the 4th, the day before I had my medical, as I had that on Tuesday and sent some extra doctors notes to Knightsbridge on Wednesday. I have no idea how that's happened but I'm definitely not going to complain. I hope everyone waiting on their date gets some news soon! I feel kind of guilty its happened so fast when others have had to wait a long time. Good luck to everyone!

UPDATE:
I figured out what the problem was. I had already registered incorrectly with the email address I wanted to use. I made a new email so I could change it on that registration and free up the email address I wanted to use again. When I went to the link the letter provided and registered again it came up with a drop down box. One of the options is "I need to register a "K" (fiance spouse/child) immigration visa appointment.
So all that confusion in reality was my doing really. Following the link on the letter works just fine, I was just being slightly dense...oops! Thank you for the help everyone!
OK I've just done it, it was actually quite straight forward. The instructions on the letter don't make sense at all (e.g. there is no option to click 'register for courier') from the main page, but if you just kind of follow it through it all works out. I took screen shots so I'll edit them and post them shortly.
I'm glad you got through it ok! I feel really stupid now haha. Good idea with the screenshots though as I agree the instructions on the letter dont match up perfectly.

Thanks for the replies guys, hopefully a clear way of doing this will pop up soon!
I also have this new version of the interview letter. I haven't had a chance to have a go at paying yet but I might give it a go tomorrow. I'll take some screen shots and report back.
Ok, I'll keep having a look round too and let people know if I find anything. I'll keep an eye out to see how you do. It's crazy how confusing and badly explained some parts of this process are, there never seems to be one clear way of doing things!
Sorry not to invade a UK thread lol but I just wanted to say congratulations on your interview. It's on the same day as ours and I hope we both hear some good news!!
Thank you! Best of luck to you too, I'm sure it will all go perfectly well!

Is there anyway you can scan your letter? I'm wondering if they changed it or you got some other version. The appointment letter used to direct you to find this link on the website by going to "visa forms" and opening IV19. It has the instructions for paying and the document link. Be sure and follow the payment steps exactly. Not starting with K1 and going to courier first puts you in the wrong part and gets you to steps for non immigrant visas like student and tourist. That may be how you got the DS-160 message.
Here's a link to the IV-19 interview document http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/IV019_fiance_appt_letter.pdf
If you can't follow the steps because you already went in the wrong way, you will have to start a new account with a different email address. It's clunky software.
My scanner is broken at the moment so I will type out what the letter says for you. Thanks for the link, but can I ask where on the page does it say apply for K visa? Does that become an option after registering? Anyway here is the letter:
U.S Embassy London is please to confirm your interview date (see below). Please refer to the Immigrant/Fiance(e) Visa Interview Checklist for detailed instructions.
(It then goes on to say about turning up for the interview half an hour early, showing security the letter etc and not to bring in any electronic devices).
If your application is successful, your documents will be returned to you via the Embassy's courier service. Visas are not issued on the day of the interview. To register with the courier:
1. Visit http://dld.bz/ivbook
2. Click "Register for Courier"
3. Fill in your details and click "Create Account"
4. Select "Add Applicant" and enter your information. When finished clock "Create Applicant." You will need to repeat this step for each member of your family who will be applying for an immigrant visa with you.
5. At the top of the screen, clock "Select Courier." Home delivery may be arranged (up until they day before your interview) for an additional fee of $30 per applicant.
(It then goes on to say to request a date change, send a request in writing, and how issuance of a visa is not guaranteed, if you need to contact the embassy quote your case number etc).
I hope this helps. I'm just curious as it does seem different to others letters and obviously it was sent before I even attended my medical. Also like I said I dont see an option anywhere to apply for a K visa, the DS160 confusion doesn't help either!
Thanks

Also I'm unsure as to how I pay my MRV and courier fees? The link the letter has takes me to the immigrant Visa appointment service site. But to register and pay the fees it says I need to of completed ds160. I had already sent in the old paper forms to the embassy so I've never had to complete that. So I'm a bit unsure what I'm meant to do? Anyone been in the same situation or has any idea on what to do? Thanks.

So today I got my letter telling me my interview date has been set for 26th November! I'm so happy and amazed, as I went for my medical on Tuesday (5th) and the letter was sent on the 4th apparently?? I was under the impression interviews weren't scheduled until medical results were recurved by the embassy? I'm not complaining though, I just can't believe how fast that's been done after seeing people say they waited for 6 weeks for a date. I must of got really lucky?
One question I have about the letter. It details about the courier service and about not bringing in electronics etc etc. But there are no instructions on what to bring. Is this normal? It's not a problem as I know what I need but I thought I'd see if that's what others letters were like.
Thanks everyone, I'm so excited! So close to getting to the end!

You will be fine if you take the notarized letter of intent with you on the day of your interview.
I cannot say the same for trying to extend the petition all the way to around May-July in the other case, mind. That might require the letter of intent being sent in the mail with a written request for an extension.
Thank you!
I was actually considering doing just that, for that exact reason
I'm still waiting for my packet 3 to arrive...even though I'm sure I could send the DS160 in now as my petition arrived in London on the 4th of this month, I thought I might as well wait til I have that letter in my hands as I do have the time. They're not to know that I read this site and know exactly what I'm supposed to do next without receiving the packet 3 letter
I think I will probably end up sending the DS160 with a cover letter stating DS2001 to follow, then send the DS2001 with a second cover letter stating medical date when I have that booked. It does seem to make sense in my case. Thanks for helping me make my mind up!
Wheatley- my request for an extension will be put in my cover letter, as I suggested to the OP just in case. Think that's probably the best way to get their attention and ensure they know my plans pre-interview.
To my understanding, could you not send DS2001 at the same time? Thats what I have done as they wont schedule the interview until they receive medical results. So as far as I'm concerned, to the best of my knowledge now I have sent DS2001 along with my other forms, one they receive my medical results they will send out packet 4? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but thats how I understand it. Saves sending DS2001 at a later date if you can do it all in one go.

My situation is a little different, but this is what I intend to do (based on what I have read on this site):
We filed in July, our NOA2 came through MUCH earlier than expected (September). I don't intend to move until mid-July 2014. Our expiry date is Jan 2014.
I will book the medical as soon as I am able (about a month before) for the end of Jan/start of Feb. Once I have booked the medical I will send off my DS160 and DS2001 with a cover letter stating my intended month of immigration and asking if they could therefore extend the expiration date of our petition. The cover letter obviously also contains the usual medical date, interview date request etc.
I will also bring the notarized letter of intent to the interview.
There may be more to it so I'm also interested in reading any replies to this thread
Ah right ok, see our situation is different also. I have already sent out the forms including DS2001, so once the embassy gets my medical results they should send out the interview letter. Unfortunately I'm waiting on my fiances dad to send the affidavit of support forms as he is a co sponsor, so I'm holding off booking my medical until I know those forms are on the way, hopefully in the next day or so. Our expiry date is 10th November though so I can't see things getting done that quickly. But I mean if I follow the approval notice instructions word for word, brining the notarized letter with me to the interview after that date should be fine. I just wanted to get others opinion to try and trouble check things really.

Hi all
I have done some looking around on here to find an answer but all the posts I've looked at are a few years old now so I just wanted to make sure I had the correct information.
Basically it looks like me and my fiancee wont be able to get an interview date ready in London before our deadline ends. On my petition approval letter it says I have to take a notarized letter of intent from my fiancee with me to the interview if it goes over the date allocated. However I see a lot of people on here are sending letters to the embassy beforehand to get a 4 month extension. I was just wondering if that's still the correct action to take or if I should just take the notarized letter with me to my interview whenever that gets booked for like the letter says? Even if the interview is after the deadline given?
Thanks for the help in advance!

Thanks a lot!
I thought that was the case as they already had my packet from the NVC and I had to take those documents to my interview, but I just wanted to make sure as that part of the form through me off a little bit!

Hi all
I wonder if anyone could help me with a question I have on completing form DS-156K?
Basically, where it asks for documents to be attached in order to apply for a fiance nonimmigrant visa (birth cert. police cert. engagement proof and evidence of financial support in my case). Do these forms/certificates actually need to be posted with this document, or do I just bring them with me to my visa interview? As far as I understand the instructions on the embassy website say these are all things I bring with me to my interview, it doesnt mention mailing them beforehand with this form.
So do I need to attach all these documents or not? If so what proof of engagement did you guys use also?
Anyone who has already sent this to the Embassy in London able to help?
Thanks in advance.

Ah thank you, sorry I didn't realize this had already been brought up!

Hi all
I'm new to the forum and just wanted to see if anyone could help me out with a question I have about the embassy in Londons website saying that as of 1st September forms DS-230I & II and DS-2001 is replaced by the form DS-260
Thats taken directly from the embassy website, but I don't see any new form links to download new forms or any new instructions apart from that?
My question is do I go ahead and send the forms it currently has links to on the site, or try and find a link for form DS-260, fill that out and sent that instead? I'm pretty confused right now with the lack of instructions on the website.
Thanks for any help in advance.

I received my email/text today at 3:30 that my EAD has gone into production!
Very happy and relieved! I called USCIS on Monday and submitted a service request as it had been 76 days. I don't know if that helped move things on at all but it definitely can't hurt to try. So excited to get my card and actually start working, just to have something to do with my days again! Good luck to everyone still waiting on approval. I hope you all get the same good news really soon!
