  1. Don't worry too much about the order of the documents in your immigration packet. They will tear it apart and organize it according to their method. Just make sure you include everything that's required. I 2-hole punched everything and I organized all of the documents in one fastener folder. I placed the I-693, pics, and check in separate bags and hole punched the bags. Here's exactly the order in which I organized all the documents.

    -G-1145

    -Cover letter

-2 pictures of petitioner (in zip bag)

-4 pictures of beneficiary (in a zip bag)

    -(1) check for $1490 (in a bag)

    -I-485

    -I-130

    -G325A for petitioner

-Petitioner's U.S. birth certificate (or you can send a copy of U.S. passport bio page)

-Copy of beneficiaries passport bio page and visa page

    -Copy of i-94

    -G325A for beneficiary

    -Beneficiaries birth certificate with translation

    -I-765

-(I did not send a I-131 because I was not going to use it, but it's optional)

    -I-864 for petitioner

-(If you have a joint sponsor the petitioner would still need to fill out a I-864. You would have to include evidence of joint sponsor's U.S. citizenship or a copy of his/her green card)

    -Income tax return from petitioner

    -W2 from petitioner

    -(3) pay statements from petitioner

    -Marriage certificate

-Evidence (copies of Health insurace cards, Disneyland annual pass contract, pictures, ect.)

    -Sealed I-693

  2. Today I received an email from USCIS stating that my I-485 is now ready for interview scheduling. That's extremely fast, USCIS received the paperwork on the 23rd of August and I had my biometrics appointment on September 23rd. I haven't even received my EAD. I checked my case status on the USCIS website and it shows that my I-130 is still in the initial review phase, so is my I-765. Is this common or did USCIS make a mistake?

  3. As many of you may be aware, there is the possibility that the government will be shutdown Sep. 30th at midnight if congress doesn't reach an agreement with the White house. A shutdown would furlough all non-essential government employees. Does anyone know how this could potentially affect everyone who currently has pending immigration petitions with USCIS?
