Actually, her last name is totally different since she got a divorce and remarried, so my husband last name is different from his mother's. You should be ok if you use your friends.

you need tp file all of those forms, that is called adjustmemt of status. Im confused with your question about the passport. He must have a passport because he will need to attach copy of visa and entry stamp as well as the bio page of the passport. The fee for aos is $1070. That will include the petition for green card, work permit and advance parole (travel permit) as long as you send all of the forms in the same package.
hope that helps.

Hi there,
I had the same questipn when I was booking mu appointment for my interview. What the embassy told me was that they update their system month to month. Having said that, the website will show their availability for august until mid July or even the end of July. Dont worry, just wait a little bit and check every day if the dates for august are showing yet.

Earlier today I posted that I was 'over it' and was just going to wait, well lo and behold, my attorney just told us that the EAD was approved as of 6/23. There was no update online, no letters, no RFE's, nothing. I am just super glad that we are making progress. I am super happy right now!
. I guess this entire process is about just being patient. My timeline. Filed 3/30, NOA1 4/6, Bio 4/30, EAD approval 6/23. From our inital file date to EAD approval it was 84 days.
Teeler, at the snail pace that they are processing applications I wouldn't worry too much about it. I know easier said than done as this morning I was fed up with waiting. Rest assured that they will get to your application and that you are still within the timeframe of them processing your application. If my timeline is any indication of how yours will go, you will get your case resolved in the first few days of July. There is not much more to wait. Just be patient and dont trust any of the information ont he USCIS tracker as that thing is not working and hasn't worked properly for many filers.
Good luck on your journey!
Good for you!!!
And I hate waiting. Im sure Im not the only one. I just feel I cant do anything. No job, no license ans no school. Ill just have to put up with the long wait I guess...

Sorry to hear that you are feeling that way. Im sure everyone who have experienced the stress of dealing with a visa can relate to you. Having said that, let me tell you that my fiance and I also felt that way, especially when I was going to have the visa interview at the embassy. I advise you to be patient and to remember why you are doing all this. At the end it's worth all the stress. Good luck.

Dont forgive her. She lost the opportunity. If you do submit the k1 visa petition again, it'llbe extremely hard to get approved. Dont waste your time.

Hello all
Soon, my fiancee will have her interview, in one month, to be exact. I was curious regarding how much of my tax info do they need.
Are they simply looking for the entire transcript of the year? That is about twenty pages of info, and I cannot imagine they want me to send all of that.
Otherwise, is there a main header they want? They simply told me "tax info for the previous year," which is quite ambiguous.
Thank you in advance.

I did my K1 a long time ago and im trying to refresh my memory.
I read the NVC website regarding K1 visas and it looks like ALL NVC does is to issue you the case number and IIN. They should've mailed you a letter with those info, Then you should be able to schedule the interview at this point and done with medical exam.
Keep calling NVC to get your case numbers and IIN and have the letter sent out to you. They said the best time to call is right at 8:30am. Though in my own experience, I always get lucky calling around 1pm.
Thank you very much for the info, it helped clear this fog for me:) I will keep calling them.
Thanks again

Anyone else? I'm trying to see if the NVC is needed or should I schedule an interview?
-
I can't offer you anything, other than to say I feel your pain. Although you have waited much longer than me, I'm in the same boat. I've heard nothing from NVC, also. I've sent them 2 emails with no response. Tried calling them several times, but always get a busy signal. How did you find out your case is already at the embassy? My understanding is if you already have your case number from your embassy, you're good to go and don't worry about NVC.
I've been in email contact with the embassy, and they told me the case has arrived! So that is good. Just don't want to skip anything by avoiding the NVC

Anything? Always have a hard time when some mod thinks this is a better section despite it regarding a k1

Hello there everybody. My case with my fiancee has reached the US embassy of her country in Nicaragua. I also received the approval back in April for the i-129f from the USCiS. The NVC, however, has not sent me anything. I emailed them at their NVC inquiry address, as stated on our noa2. Do I need to go through them if the case is already at the embassy? What other approaches should I take to contact them. The Noa2 clearly states they prefer emails, but they haven't done anything to help me up to this date. Thanks in advance

Hello all,
I'm just curious, if the K1 is in progress and my fiancee becomes pregnant (by me of course), will it create any problems for the visa?
-
Well, you have a number of months (4?) from the NOA2 until you have to complete the interview which you can take the full amount of time for by waiting to send in your packet 3 and 4. Then you have 6 months after receiving the K1 to actually make the move to the US, and then you have 3 months before you have to marry, so you can stretch it out for about a year if needed.
Thank you for this answer. The only thing is, your answer led me to a new question perhaps you know about.
Technically I cannot accept the visa until February 2 (J1 2 year expiration), so if I pass the interview, can they hold it until a later period?
Otherwise, it seems the time tables won't work out and we would have to cancel it / restart and anticipate it to move very fast instead of the ten months we believed we had.

Hello all.
I have a seemingly easy question but appreciate all the info I can get.
My question: If I contact the NVC about my case and tell them I would like it paused, would they do that? How long could I have a visa on hold? Would it be hard to upstart again?
I have a case for a K1 visa being sent there, but we have ran into some problems and would like it to be paused for a period of time.
Thanks in advance

Hello everyone,
If I am currently dealing with the 2 year HRR, will traveling back to the USA on a B tourist visa expand my time?
-
Hello all. Has anyone from Nicaragua had any luck obtaining a J1 visa waiver on account of No Objection Statement? Did you use the consulate in DC or a ministry here? Every time we call the consulate they never seem to know anything about it. Thank you in advance

What is a two year home residency rule?
For a previous visa (J1) saying that she cannot change her status in the US until it is satisfied
-
Yes Embassies can and do reschedule interviews....but you can't string them along forever. 2 years is too much.
Thank you for the answer. We just received noa2 (so we still have awhile) and the rule expires in dec.
