You can write a letter stating why his name is not on the lease .  You should provide bank statement covering the  time you having been married/ since the joint accounts were created.  Just a few  statements here and there from every year.  there are no timeline for utility bills - just provide a few copies from when you started living together until now  (  5  or so ) . It is not necessary to have a will  or power of attorney . Just make sure you provide solid proof for the other things.  Birth certificate will be a great proof.   You need to have your family or friends provide  affidavits  - stating they know you as a couple ect.... and they need to be notarized  ( 2-3 letters will do).

    You will be just fine

You are the best! Thank you. Do you happen to know if each letter from friends need to be accompanied with proof of what they are writing about?

  2. So I got an RFE today. I need guidance. I sent photos, copy of insurance cards with both our names, copy of letters addressed to us. Income taxes (well transcripts). Forgot what else. Now the want birth certificate of baby, which I have, they want bank statements(letter says they want records for as long as we been together, is this true?)  Prove that we live together, now the lease is under my name cause I moved here before he got here.  I can give utility bill but for how long does it need to be? One year or more?  I do not have a will Nor a power of attorney, do I need to get one ? The also mentioned letters from friends with supporting documents, what does this mean?

  3. Hey! You wont receive a SS until you go to the local SS office. I live in NYC and went on a Thursday to apply for one for my husband and he received it on Monday. Less than a week. Bring the passport.

  4. Just an update on expedites. I just spoke with a supervisor and she has told me the reason why some people get their files sent directly to the embassy, while others (like us) have to wait for their docs to be reviewed. It all depends on the embassy. She said in my case, the embassy in Kingston is really strict on wanting complete packages sent to them. She also confirmed what we all have heard, that the packages are reviewed in the same queue as the others, even when it says "ATTN: PI Supervisor". She said it didn't used to be that way but it changed recently. I don't know about you guys but I'm sick to death of all the ways to speed things up (I-129F/K-3, expedite requests, congressional inquiries) that mean nothing! I've tried them all and nothing has helped.

I wss told the same, I hate the fact thst some people from my same embassy got their cases sent right after the expedite was approved. Not me though. I wss given the I need to wait the intske process blah blah blah. I emsiked nvc expedite again, my local embassy and called. Till I decided not to stress so mich because it was going to make me sick. I called the embassy and so it hsppened they maiked my case to DR. Im already wsiting for an interview date.

  5. Thanks a million!!! :) Fingers crossed. Let's see what happens.

Best for you guys as well. Stay in touch!

I just spoke to Nicki and asked her about the IV docs getting sent to the PI Supervisor. She said that it IS processed separately from the others and that it should be quicker! Best of luck to you!

The expedites are approved by the embassy, so it will probably be different timing for each one.

  6. By pass to supervisor. They kept telling my hubby the same garbage and he asked to speak directly to a tier 3 who took control of it and the 30 days we were told took one week from expedite request to case complete. It isn't easy to get a tier 3 but then hubby can be a very professional pit bull. He actually told a very rude rep that his query was above her pay grade. He was transferred to a tier 2 and he requested a tier 3.

Please advise me how can I get a tier 3 supervisor. I would love to know for when the moment comes. Right now they question you as to why do you need to speak to a supervisor. I asked to speak to supervisor Sue and the girl told me what it was about and I told her and she said "oh I can help with that" and went on to answer my question.

I am really sorry to hear about your troubles. I got my expedite request denied, and somehow, I am kind of happy that it got denied. When I submitted my request, I had no idea what the process involved. I just have to wait for my IV fee bill to ready to be paid. Good luck girl!

Sorry to hear, but you are almost there!

  7. Yes, I have a similar situation! I had my expedite approved and the email said to send the docs to PI Supervisor, which I did. I called awhile back and a representative said that I had to wait for the AOS packet to be approved since they had already been sent when I requested the expedite. He told me that the IV docs should be approved quickly since they were sent to the PI Supervisor.

I just called today to find out if my AOS was reviewed and the representative said it was on Monday but now I had to wait the 60 days for the IV docs to be reviewed. I said that I had sent them to the PI Supervisor and she said they are all reviewed the same way! WTH! I thought about calling a 3rd time get a tie-breaker between the two different stories but I emailed the expedite people instead. I will let you know what/if I find out anything.

Yeap! They need to get their stuff together. I just paid for my IV bill and I'm kinda glad I didn't get forwarded to the embassy. Saves me some money! Keep me updated. I'm waiting the 60 for my AOS. I was told the very same thing they told you. I'm just waiting for my husband to mail me the IV docs and when i send it to them and it gets scanned I will call again to see if they can expedite the process.

  8. So after many calls, I was finally told by NVC that my case was in fact expedited but that the embassy requires me to send nvc all my docs. I still have to wait 60 days for them to review it. I wasted 21 days because they didnt tell me I had to send in my docs, in fact I was tokd the opposite, precious time wasted. Someone told me to send my packages attention pi supervisor sue/ expedited case, then someone else told me that doesnt make them review my papers faster. Another lady told me it will take them a few days to review my aos. Then I was told yesterday by two people that I needed to wait the 60 days.

What is the point of the expedited?

    Anyone with similar situation?

  9. They should receive your case at the Embassy in DR in like a week to ten days. They will email you once they have a cita for you. I would say within two weeks. It happened just like that to my friend. I'm the only retard waiting to get her case sent off to DR after the approval expedite. :(

Keep me updated. Would love to hear how it goes.

  10. You need to do what they've now told you -- send the documents ASAP and get the case moving.

I AM! I SENT MY AOS OVERNIGHT FOR MONDAY MORNING DELIVERY.

OMG! I totally hear you! I think that they have a picture of me on the wall so they can use it as target practice, lol. I call them almost everyday, and EVERYTIME I ended up with more questions than answers...

LOL Can they really do that? Sabotage your case because we call so much?

Can any tell me what the criteria was to request for your case to be expedited?

My husband is a Haitian citizen and is living in DR and his visa is about to expire. We have financial troubles and dont have money to apply for a new one. Takes too long and so much money.

Lots of people that I know who went thru expedite process, once the embassy approves the expedite, NVC close the case and ask the beneficiary to go with the required documents to the interview.

NVC are notorious for giving conflicting answers. Supervisor Octavio is famous for been helpful, maybe you should call and request to speak with him AGAIN.

Have you tried to contact your embassy so they can be aware of the situation? Am so sorry for what you are going thru.

YES!!!!! I know someone from my same embassy who didnt have to do all this and her case got sent out right away. I understand it varies by case but I wanna know why my case has to go through all that. What is so different about my case. They can't answer that and hang up on me when I question them.

I emailed EVERYBODY and their mother about it. My embassy told me it was approved. Mario at NVC without me asking volunteer the info that my expedite was approved. So I dont know what's their deal.

~~moved to progress reports from process and procedures~~

They may be waiting for the embassy to also approve your expedite. Choose a supervisor and speak to only that one so that the information isn't so conflicting.

Good idea. I will do that. I sent my expedite a month ago and it was approved. the embassy in DR told me, I have an email confirming (I emailed them to ask if it was approved and they replied) and one of their reps told me I was expedited. They in fact confirm that I am expedited. If I wasn't then it is a cruel joke they are pulling.

  11. Not sure if you have read my previous posts on how I was granted an expedite request on 8/15/14. I found out on Monday 8/18 because I was having trouble with the AOS payment. Mario answered my call (spanish side) and told me the great news about being expedited. He then told me not to make any payment nor send in the AOS docs because my case will be send out to the embassy in Dominican Republic. He told me to check at the end of the week to see if the case left. I called on Thursday. They said it was still awaiting "processing". I called all week that week, sometimes even twice a day. I keep getting, "you need to wait until they get to it and it gets processed, then it will be sent to the embassy." I keep asking how long is this process, what do you mean process it, didnt it get process it when a case number was assigned? The normal response is "no time frame" "it needs to be filed, you only received a case number, the case it self wasn't filed."

I'm sick and tired of no real response. I spoke to supervisor Octavio on Tuesday and he said he was emailing the dept who handles that. This morning I called to check on his follow up. Big lie! Spoke to Bruno and he said, Octavio only said that to calm me dow, he doesnt really follow up. GREAT! He told me that they are waiting for me to send in my documentation, so they can proceed. I protested, "but its an expedited case" He said that still, the embassy requires me to have all my docs in order to send my case out, that I can try emailing them and asking them to send my case to Dominican Rep that I will bring all my docs to the interview. Waaahhh?!?!?

I then called again spoke to Kyla. And she told me she didnt understand why I was told not to do anything when in fact my file says clearly that I need to send in all my paper work. I cried! I have had my AOS docs ready, was holding them because I was told to keep them. My friend, we requested expedite two weeks apart and she doesn't have to go through this. Her case was approved and shipped to the embassy.

I'm thinking, since I've called so much (spoke to Else twice in one day, she hung up on me) can they try to sabotage my case, "cause I seem annoying."

Who can I speak to about this? Any one higher than NVC? Im stressed out! Any help would be most welcomed! Thanks!

  12. So I found out my case was approved for expedite on Aug. 15th (I found out on Monday aug 18th)
The issue or at least is very stressful to know that NVC is still holding onto my case "for processing" and cannot give me a time frame when it will leave their facilities.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? How long do they take? I call everyday, same answer. Argh!

    Help! Advise!

  13. Congratulations. I received and expedite from USCIS but. Was told that it only covered the USCIS process and that I would have to request another expedite at the NVC stage of the process, so can you give us the details on how to request expedite from NVC? Email, letter, what? Thanks in advance.

I sent an email explaining why I needed an expedite, not a medical reason and provided proof as to why, and got approved. I'm still waiting for NVC to decide they want to touch my case and send it to DR. So frustrating!

  14. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Mind sharing what's the reason for your expedite? I'm trying to file for an expedite for my twin brother for financial loss and humanitarian situation.

How did you file for an expedite? How long for it to be granted or deny?

NVM, lol did not realize your expedite is at NVC.

    Hey,

Well my husband is Haitian and holds a Dominican visa and that is about to expire so i gave that as a reason and how we dont have a lot of money. Also, that my boss wont give me time off at my jobs peak season which is December. He wrote a letter for me, and I said that this separation is taking a toll on us both financially and emotionally and I didnt want to loose my job if I get an interview date for December (even though I know I can change the interview date, I rather not cause I miss him) I said that. It took them 2 weeks for an approval. MInd you, I didnt even have a case number.

    God is good!!! :)
