I am single and NO children.

    PERSON NOT sponsored in affidavit

    2. Yourself - should I put 1 or 0 ????????

    8. Add together household size will that be 2 for my mother and I ??????

Tax Transcripts I already have those ready to mail in with packet.

Thanks trying to mail this in Frifay this week

Hi. If you are the petitioner and the ONLY sponsor, you will need to fill out Form I-864 ONLY.

Employment letter should include your employer, the date you got employed, your job title and your income. Use company letterhead paper.

If you are only sponsor and you are only sponsoring your mother then yes number of persons that you sponsor should be 1.

Persons not sponsored auto-populated to 1 (according to the I-864 instruction)

Yes your household size is Two (you and your mom)

  2. Updating our case status:

01/22/16 case number assigned and invoice number given ( it can take up to 28 days till I receive the package of instruction )

02/02/16 IV Fee available to pay

02/25/16 aos packet and Iv packet sent

    02/26 /16 DS 260 done

    03/28 /16 case completed

We were not able get the IV Packet ready until the end of February, otherwise our case could be completed in the beginning of March.

  3. Thank you. I have a big problem. My mom real name is not on my birth certificate. how couldI correct that when filing?

If what I said was not the case, then maybe ask her to go to the whatever agency that deals with name change in her country to get it corrected and then have that piece of paper notarized?
  4. Thank you. I have a big problem. My mom real name is not on my birth certificate. how couldI correct that when filing?

I have never been in this situation. But this is what I think, if your mom's real name is not on your birth certificate, then is her nickname on there? Does your mom use this nickname officially? If she does, doesn't it mean that her nickname is her real name since everyone knows her as her nickname?
  5. Hello, do you mind sharing the document you sent along with the i130.

Hi. As I remember, these were the documents that I sent in: 1) Form-I130 2) my birth certificate (I am the petitioner) 3) my marriage certificate (I had my name changed after marriage) 4) naturalization certificate

I just sent in whatever the I-130 Instruction asks for.

  6. I know this is a couple of days late, but NVC requires everything to be sent in one package. Sending it in 2 separate packages can cause delays. I've copied/pasted what it says directly from the Dept of State website below.

Also, not every country is eligible for email processing. it depends on what your case number begins with. Don't try to email it if it you weren't given that option for your specific case, it may cause delays.

    Here's the link: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

Step 6: Submit Documents to the NVC

After you collect your Affidavit of Support form(s) and financial evidence in Step 4, and supporting documents in Step 5, you must submit all of your forms, financial evidence, and photocopies of your original civil documents in ONE package to the NVC. Your case may be significantly delayed if you fail to submit all of your documents in one package.

Review the methods below, and choose the one that applies to your case.

    Method 1: Email processing

If your NVC case number begins with one of the following prefixes:

    • AKD
    • AMM
    • DMS
    • GZO
    • MEP
    • SAA
Scan and email your financial forms and evidence, supporting documents, and translations to nvcelectronic@state.gov. Please place your case number in the subject line of the email and keep your attachments below five megabytes (MB). If you have more than one case, use a different email message for each case. For more information, review our Document Scanning FAQs.

Method 2: Choice of processing If Your NVC Case Number Begins With And Your Visa Category Is You Can Choose Either MTL Any immigrant visa category Email Processing or Mail Processing GUZ CR1, CR2, F1, F2A, F2B, F3, F4, IR1, IR2 or IR5 Email Processing or Mail Processing BNS, FRN, HNK, RDJ, or SYD IR1, IR2, IR5, CR1, or CR2 Email Processing or Mail Processing

Important: Once you select a method, you cannot switch methods later in the process.

    Method 3: Mail processing

If neither Method 1: Email processing nor Method 2: Choice of processing applies to your case, mail your financial forms and evidence, supporting documents, translations, and photocopies, with the Document Cover Sheet included with your NVC Welcome Letter, to the following address:

    National Visa Center

    Attn: DR

    31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

    Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

NVC cannot accept documents saved on any form of electronic media, including CDs and memory cards. If you send any electronic media to NVC, we will return it to you unopened.

Thank you so much. Your post is very informative. I can either send my documents through email or in mail as my case number starts with certain letters, but I think I will just mail it in so that I will know when they sign and receive it.

To share: I am a former K1 fiancee visa applicant from Canada. Now married, recently became a US citizen myself.

Now I'm filing for my parents from Canada to move here so we can take care of them in their old age (i'm their only child)

L_n_O, thanks for sharing and thanks for updating the list for us. Good luck!

  8. I was given the option to scan all doc's and application and email them to NVC, OR they gave me the option to mail them, my choice. Is one faster, better, quicker, flagged, etc

SO the question is it better to mail or email my info to NVC?

I was given the option to scan or mail the documents too. I think both methods are equally fast (maybe 2-3 days faster if you use your e-mail because you skip the USPS process?). Personally I am going to choose the mailing (with signature or priority) option because I had stuff "lost in email" (they said they did not receive my email or they said they emailed me but I didn't receive at all) when I dealt with other departments. But the choice is yours.

  9. For my MOM:

January 4, 2016 - sent her petition to Chicago

January 5, 2016 - USCIS received the papers

January 7, 2016 - accepted and routed to USCIS Nebraska

    February 1, 2016 - case was approved

Your mother's case got approved by USCIS super fast! Congrats!

    Hi guys!!!

I became an American Citizen January 21st 2016 (so happy!!! :dancing: ) and sent the I-130 for my dear mom (patiently waiting in Bulgaria) right away the next day. Which, by the way, happened to be Friday but I just could not wait - I had it all prepared a week beforehand, and just added the Citizenship Certificate info and copy to the package! Here is her (my, our, whatever lol) timeline so far:

January 22 - Sent I-130 petition for mom to Phoenix Lockbox

January 25 - Case Priority Date

    January 28 - Check cashed

February 2 - NOA1 Received in mail - case sent to Nebraska Service Center

And now we wait! I have heard and read this is the slowest center of them all , but I choose to have faith that it will all turn out quick and painless! Good luck to you all out there, and keep in touch!

    Congratulations on citizenship. Good luck!

I am collecting AOS documents and my mother is collecting her civil documents. I will send everything in ONE packet like VJers recommended.

  11. please click the link below in my signature area - it's the Bible for NVC doc intake, and it's current.

Not on a PC? Come back on a PC.

    Thank you^^

You do not need to pay the IV fee to be able to send in docs.

You can send everything, AOS & IV in one package -- as long as the choice of agent has been completed and AOS fee has been paid.

I recommend to send in one package since it won't delay them putting 2 packages together if sent separately.

Thank you. I will take your recommendation to send in ONE packet to avoid any delay. Thanks again.

  12. Hi .I paid my AOS Fee last week. I am collecting AOS documents for my mother's case. I called NVC and asked if I should go ahead and send in the AOS documents or wait till I pay for the IV Fee (mine is not invoiced yet) then send everything (AOS packet and IV packet) in ONE packet, the lady said it was up to me. I was just curious, did you guys send everything in ONE packet or in TWO? Thanks.

  13. ya, she reminds me so much, of someone else.

    Darnell,

I have a question about documents of Affidavit of Support. I (the sponsor) do not have income, and my husband (the household member) is a student, his income does not meet the 125% requirement, but we have a joint sponsor. My question is that should I just use a sponsor and skip the household of member part?

    Thank you in advance.

  14. Hi. My parent's case got scanned in the system at NVC on 01/12/2016. The representative said that it could take up to 42 days to create a case(then I will know the case number). I would like to start collecting documents,so once the NVC inform me the case number, I can mail the package right away. So could someone please tell me what documents I need to mail along with the I-864 for parents of a US citizen? Thank you in advance!

  15. I tried to look for the "I-130 for parents August 2015" post, but did not have any luck. If there is one exist, please let me know. If the time that you filed I-130 for your parents was around August 2015 , please join me:)

    Let me go first!

    I-130 filed. 08/05/2015

    Check cashed 08/11/2015

Receipt of I-130 stamped 08/11/2015 from Nebraska Service Center (Priority date 08/06/2015)

    I-130 approved 12/24/2015

I-130 Approval Notice stamped 12/29/2015, I am not sure on what date I received the notice because I was not in town.

    Case transferred to NVC 01/06/2016

Case received and scanned by NVC 01/12/2016

I called about every 10 days to check on the case and I was told that it could take up to 42 days for NVC to create a case in their system, after they did that, they would inform me the case number.

Is anyone else on this journey? Please please join me. Thank you.
