I have a friend who is coming to the US for the first time on a tourist visa. I have a question that I couldn't find any answers on Google for. She's coming with her family to NY, staying for a month there, and is planning to stay in LA for another month, and fly back home to the Philippines (alone) from there. Will there be any potential issues with this?

What does it mean when the Status Updated date moves twice on an AP case? We sent documents to the embassy and it arrived on the 19th, status updated the 20th and again on the 21st. Is this a good sign? Does this mean that they are looking at the case?

I know AP is kind of a "black hole" as far as completion times are concerned, but is a week to two weeks before issuance a realistic timeline? We were all prepared to get his plane tickets yesterday too...

Correct -- but we do not need the original W-2 right? Just a copy? I have all other requirements so I want this sent out tomorrow (their time).

I checked the status on the CEAC site and it appears to be under Administrative Processing. He was not issued a 221g form, however. What does this mean?

Hi, we received our Case Complete email on the 9th, claiming that the documents will be sent to the embassy.

Would CEAC update its status once it's been physically mailed out? For now it still says "At NVC."

We recently filed all the documentation for my son's F2A petition to the NVC. Just to give a short background, I am currently unemployed but am supported by family members as I look for work. I included a letter with the petition explaining my current employment situation and that we have a joint sponsor who meets the poverty guidelines. *EDIT* I should add that the joint sponsor filed an I-864 as well.

I received a checklist back from the NVC with the following:

additional instructions below then complete and submit a new Affidavit of Support. You can download the I-864

In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...
[x] Item 13.a. You must include your 2012 tax and income information.
[x] Items 13.a.1. The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal

I put in $0 for the income and had a letter explaining my current employment situation. Very strange that this was asked, but even stranger that they are looking for an I-864A for both my wife and other son (applicant)?

FYI my status is now marked as "NOT PAID." Not sure if it's because they received my payment via mail yesterday but there you go, they cleared up the status for me today. Hope it's the same for others as well.

I actually just sent them a money order since it seemed that their payment issues was more widespread than just our case. I'll go ahead and send the civil docs in then, thank you!

Quick question -- our IV payment is stuck as PENDING even though we already have a receipt and the barcode. Should we go ahead and send the IV package even though the DS-230 isn't available yet? Or is there something that needs to be printed and included AFTER the DS-230 is completed?

We sent the IV payment via mail yesterday. Pretty annoying, but whatever. NVC told us that it'll take around 5 days after check is received to get cashed and for the DS-260 to show up.

I wonder if it's a good idea to mail the IV package now too...

Have the same exact problem, I think we'll just say screw it and send over a cashier's check overnight today.

nvm, wrong thread

NOA dated August 19th, NVC still hasn't received our case. Called USCIS and had to be escalated only to find out that they haven't even sent the case yet and that it's waiting for the courier to be picked up. #######!

I have my petition approved on 08/15/2013. NVC has not received my documents yet. I wonder whether to contact USCIS and check if they send everything to NVC. Has anybody done this?

This is what we are in the process of doing right now. Case approved August 19. Gotta badger these guys to get an accurate status on where our case is at.
