  2. Well as a US citizen, I was able to go thru the guards and talk to someone from the American Services Unit. I'm not sure if they will allow you to enter without an appointment but you can try! This is a recent post at ustraveldocs.com addressed to NIV applicants, maybe you can try emailing them? Tell them about your situation. If it says issued, I'm sure it will arrive soon. Do not stress out. My fiancée is 33weeks pregnant and had a preterm labor scare because of stressing out. Its one of our medical issues.

"The U.S. Department of State is currently experiencing technical problems with its visa system, which are affecting global operations. This issue is worldwide and is not specific to any particular country or visa category. We recognize and deeply regret the inconvenience to travelers. We are doing everything possible to return passports with visas as soon as we are able to complete processing. We regret that we are currently unable to predict how long the delay will be.

Applicants, who interviewed with the U.S. Embassy after July 21 and would like their passports returned to them without the U.S. visa, may contact CONSManilaNIV@state.gov with their name and passport number. Please use the subject Request for Passport in your email.

Applicants, who have an urgent need to travel to the United States, may contact CONSManilaNIV@state.gov with their name, passport number, and nature of the emergency. Please use the subject Request for Passport in your email. Please understand that only true emergencies of an extraordinary humanitarian nature can be considered for exceptional handling.

We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this matter and apologize for the inconvenience."

  3. My CEAC status says ready, but also that I need to schedule an interview (i was approved at interview on Jul 23rd.) This contradictory message only confuses things. It seems that CEAC status is not that reliable during the glitch.

I am interested to hear that people are still getting visas during the glitch. Are these immigrant visas do you know? Were they expedited?

our status changed to ISSUED this afternoon. Those who got their visas before us are for k1 and cr1.

  4. It happened to my fiancées aunt but that was 28yrs ago.

We have the same message, Gemini18. It was a surprise to us when they called. It was probably because I went to the Embassy last Friday and was able to talk to an actual human being! Someone who doesn't give generic responses. I told him about my fiancées medical situation and assured me that they will prioritize our visa once everything is up and running.

...or maybe they just had enough of our emails and phone calls that they wanted us to stop ASAP. Lol

  5. Our interview was on the 14th, approved with no issues. Our CEAC status was updated on the 15th, to Ready. After two weeks with no further updates, I managed to get back into the embassy and get a direct and personal email from embassy staff confirming that our case was in fact approved but waiting on their systems to be fully restored. They mentioned that most services for US citizens were up and running already (as of Friday the 25). Later that afternoon, I got a post-dated CEAC update, still ready but now dated July 24th and still asking is to wait two business days. Then just this morning, another update date of July 30th, still just Ready, and still asking for two more days. I really don't understand how some of us have waited without real explanation for so long, but others who have been interviewed after us have already received their visas? How did they escape the great glitch of '14? Has any else impacted by the delay seen any progress yet showing signs of pending dislodge?

  6. I have a friend who I met at the US Embassy. After her case status was changed to AP it was issued the next day.

When did your statis change? Just today, Saturday?

Well ive been checking ceac for an update. This morning, it was still in "Ready" and last update was the 15th. I tried checking it again this afternoon, still says "Ready" but last update changed to the 24th, thursday. The day before my fiance went to the embassy! I think their systems are now updating those who got affected by the glitch. spark of hope people! :)

  7. That's what we got on our NOA2 letter. Ours got approved on the 8th August and we called the NVC 5th September and they were able to give us the case number. I, like you was confused about the NVC thing too as the letter stated nothing about being sent there. Luckily someone here helped me out and I got my fiancé to call them. I guess give them a call at the end of each week to see if they can give you the case number.

Congrats though, at least it's on it's way!!

Through which service center was your case processed? From what I'm seeing with the timelines here on VJ, not one approved case from CSC in the month of Aug has been forwarded to NVC. Other customers, with dates even after our approval but processed through other service centers have already been received at the embassy.

  8. Hello everyone,

I received NOA2 approving of my I-129F petition from CSC in only 41 days, approved on 08/22/13. However, after being told by my USCIS status to follow the instruction on the notice I am confused. It states:

"The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you..."

It makes no mention of NVC as all of the sample NOA2 online have shown and as I was expecting from the visa journey flow chart. Has anyone else seen this status and figured out what happens next? I'm calling NVC everyday, sometimes twice and they just say 8 weeks. When I call USCIS customer service they give me the usual line about 'automatically' forwarding to NVC but that they don't track the shipment?

    Help!
